QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) .224/.302/.608 1 HR 4 RBI I'm not sure what your point is. Has someone said he's been lighting it up? Where do you want him to hit, in the spots he is most likely to see pitches he can handle or in spots where they are going to throw him crap to get to Pierre?

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) Gordo looks really bad today- just when I thought he was breaking out of this too... Did he K AGAIN?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) Linebrink warming... s***, I forgot he existed.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) o my best pal made out with a Sergio Mitre ex uhhh

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) That hasn't had any affect yet. Perhaps hitting 6th or 7th for a while could relieve a little pressure is all I'm saying. Maybe so. But if he's seeing worse pitches to hit, maybe the pressure gets greater.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) I have no problem letting him bat 2nd and try to fight through the slump. I don't mind moving him down to 7 or 8, but hitting second, he should see better pitches to hit than if he's batting in front of Pierre.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) I said he's been an absolute failure in the #2 hole. You're arguing that huge has been a huge success so far? I didn't say Gordon sucks. I said he's been a failure in the #2 hole so far. Sure he has potential to be a great hitter but he's sucked for 4+ weeks straight now. Do you honestly believe that batting him second is "throwing him to the wolves" though? He's in a very advantageous position batting 2nd.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) WHAT THE ---- ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? ISN'T THIS A GAME THREAD? SO NOW WE CAN'T POST WITHOUT REFERRING TO A SPECIFIC PREVIOUS POSTERS' QUOTATION. PEOPLE HERE ARE REALLY LOSING IT. Screw the ice cream. I'll have what he's having...

QUOTE (Real @ May 1, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Alexei and Vizquel leading off, not pulling Pierre for Jones the other day, and leaving Beckham to the wolves in the 2 spot all makes me really question Kenny and Jerry's allowance of Ozzie to continue managing the Sox, the guy doesn't have a clue. Puhleeaassee.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) I'm pretty sure the last Sox hitter to go upper deck at a Yankee park was Daubach. He loves strawberry ice cream.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:59 PM) Danks nearing high 80's in pitch count. Looks like he will only get through five to be in a position to turn it over to pen...six if he's VERY VERY economical with his pitches next inning. What's the +/- with Danks' pitch count before everyone starts laying into Ozzie for endangering the most important player in our organization arguably? What does Danks pitch count have to do with Omar Vizquel?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) Alright I didn't see us bat last half inning cause my friend walked in. Did I just hear Hawk say Kotsay drove in 2 runs?! He's been getting on base the last two games. (had 2 BB's yesterday) Home run.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) know what i find hilarious? all the saps who drafted Vazquez in a super early round for their fantasy teams. i just dont understand how anybody DIDN'T see this coming. Fantasy teams? Imagine how Cashman feels right now? Oh s***, you've got to be kidding me...
-
Come on now, Gordo. Snap out of it.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) Yes, yes it was. Ugh, another infield hit? Seems like we have had an inordinate number of those against us this year thus far...
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) Danks isn't making it out of the 4th if he doesn't find some command. He's looked like that a few times this year...luckily, he's figured things out sooner rather than later. I think in his 2nd start he was all over the place at first too...He's really just all over the place today, eh? Is this Andruw's third 2-homer game this year already?
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 1, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) You two want to get a room? I don't even necessarily mind the post-disasterous at-bat ripping...it's the ripping before the guy even gets in the batters box that gets to me. It's like all the collective negative juju in here makes these guys fail.
-
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 1, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) Talking about people when they're bad is cheering the team on. We are keeping their business afloat by buying tickets, jerseys, and indirectly just by being on this board giving them our attention. Our addiction to the team (and our addiction to yelling about how bad they can be) is something the White Sox people would privately tell you they thrive on. I see a win-win here fella. I'm not saying don't talk about them. I agree with you, any attention from the fans is better than NO attention from the fans. And I also don't mean to lump everyone into the negative kool-aid group (that means you, Gerry).
-
QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ May 1, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) I don't think you understand. When I say negative things about Pierre/Vizquel/Kotsay, I'd love to be proven wrong, but I understand that they are what they are, and that's mediocre baseball players. I'm not going to have blind faith in sub-par players, I know better. That's fine. But why bother coming here just to bash them all afternoon? Do you guys think you are enlightening the rest of us or something? Do you think you are stating something that hasn't been 400 times already? Jesus, it sounds like there is an echo in here because you guys all fall all over one another to say the same freaking "Pierre has not gotten the ball out of the infield for 12 consecutive PAs!" comment. It would be one thing if there was something insightful being said, but there isn't. It's just the same "Ozzie should be fired for hitting Vizquel leadoff" crap. Are you serious? Have we not all learned that Ozzie will put the LEAST qualified candidate to hit in the MOST important places over and over again? Have we not been watching him do that since 2004? We get it! Ozzie fills out some incredibly peculiar lineup cards! But guess what? He's not getting fired for it! And you guys complaining about it is not going to change that! So we may as well cheer for these SOBs to get out of their funk and get the job done! Go Andruw!

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 1, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) Don't stereo-type all of us. For one, I don't post much on game threads, and the only negative thing I always say is about Juan Pierre and his game. We all know Juan is brutal right now. I am sure he knows it, his mother knows it, his wife knows it, his dog probably is not even running to him when he comes home at night. The same goes for Vizquel...the guy is 67 years old. He has NO business being on his office softball team, let alone starting on a professional baseball team. But GUESS WHAT? It's who we have in the f***ing starting lineup today. So let's cheer for them to get the job done, whether it's by some miracle of Jehovah or by getting hit by a pitch. I hate coming in here and people are already forecasting doom before anything negative even happens. What is the f***ing point? Why torture yourself if you have that attitude? Why even bother? Go out and do some yardwork. Go shopping. Play golf. I don't care what you do. But I want to follow the game because I am stuck at work, and it would be nice if I could do so without wanting to slit my wrists even more than this bastard sitting in the desk behind is making me want to. So have some f***ing faith and cheer your team on.
-
QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ May 1, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) I'm curious, what should we say? This team is bad. It's not the end of the world, but it is a fact. Well, when all of you, in unison, repeat the same negative crap over and over and over again, I mean seriously, why do you all do this to yourselves? You guys are calling for negative things to happen before they even happen.
-
Jeesh, you guys are impossible to go through a game with. What a miserable group! Everyone needs to get laid!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Hi8is, I've got DirecTV, and the normal baseball channels (i.e. in the 720's) are blacked out, but if I flipped directly to comcast sports chicago (ch 665), the game is coming in there. Yeah, I have been getting Comcast for the last few games. It should also be on the YES network.
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ May 1, 2010 -> 11:29 AM) Does anyone know where I can watch the game online for free? I've got the MLB Extra Innings Package but for some reason, they aren't carrying the game. They're killin me!! Cable or DirecTV?

QUOTE (docsox24 @ May 1, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) my buddy just saw JD at the Palms in Vegas at 2:00 am this morning. He's kind of a prick in public.
