Mahr with his typical medicine is evil (although it does good things, sometimes, I guess).

Illinois with a terrible first 5 min but somehow went on a 16-4 run to take the lead. 9 fouls already though.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 6, 2015 -> 01:25 AM) S1 of Black Sails ended really strongly. It took me a while to get through the first 5 episodes, but the last 3 episodes were very strong and I am actually excited for S2 now. I still get confused on some of the storylines at Nassau. I have no idea what that chick's dad is doing, and I have no idea who that Barlow lady is either. I'm a big fan, mainly because i'm a historical drama and pirate fan. They did a pretty poor job explaining the whole Nassau business, but when it's just about Flint and his group it's excellent. I'm enjoying the flashbacks they started this season. So far the show just keeps getting better and better. I'm surprised more "critics" gave up on it so quickly.

2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 6, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) His efficiency is at all time high's. I think we need more of Taj and his attitude and toughness and not less, but that is me. This whole team has Pau and Rose's persona instead of Taj and Noah's persona, imo. This is what Laker fans hated about Pau for years (so it isn't new). Pau is extremely skilled offensively but he has a very "meh" attitude and is horrendous defensively. Butler and Rose also seem to have massive problems playing together. I still think the biggest issue on our team is Rose. We need a point guard to play with him or something cause he is just brutal and our offense is going to have some really brad stretches with the way he executes and passes right now. Its just ugly. Thankfully his effort and energy levels are increasing. 100% agree. It's too bad he's still treated as a super star player. If I were Thibs and he's airballing another 3, or throwing a stupid pass after he got into the air, or failing to follow his guy on a pick and pop, he's out of the game. The team was playing at its best when Butler was the alpha dog, leading the team on both ends of the floor. Rose frankly just got in the way.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 03:16 PM) Maybe we need to combine two threads and just have beheadings for anyone who refuses to vaccinate their kids.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 07:50 AM) So it appears I'm going to New Orleans for a bachelor party in March. Anyone ever been there? I think we're staying right in the French Quarter I went for a bachelor party in 2011. There is plenty to do in the French Quarter. Eat like a king. Drink like a king. Hit up Cafe Du Monde in the morning for some coffee and beignets. Find someplace with good, fresh oysters. Find a place with a good muffuletta and a place with good po boys. Enjoy the women entertainment (and hold out until you get no cover tickets if they are charging). Find a cool jazz spot (some good ones over on Frenchman Street). Go to Commander's Palace. If you can swing it, it's the best restaurant there. .25 cent (I said cent) martinis M-F for lunch, although dinner is best (jacket required and reservations are a must). Earlier this morning I booked a trip in May for my wife and I. I can't wait. New Orleans is an absolute dump of a town, but man, the food and night life. It's a great time.

The Beheading
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 01:02 PM) "I was sexually harassed, complained, was labeled a witch and beheaded" = an improvement. I think I'm on pretty solid ground here. People are happy to type how awful beheading and other insanely terrible forms of death are, but oh sweet mother no I'm not giving up my gasoline because of it and how dare you ever consider asking me that. No, you're really not. It's ludicrous to think that you buying gasoline, which is a necessity in our culture, somehow validates what they do, or worse, SUPPORTS it. That's just insane. Again, you watch sports. Apparently you're a huge supporter of criminals. Right?

The Beheading
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 12:54 PM) Seems legit. That's the kind of legal system we need to be praising. Swift and efficient. Where are you getting that i'm approving of this system, let alone "praising" it? I'm saying it's the better of two awful choices. That's it.

The Beheading
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) ISIS's barbaric actions were carried out against a foreign prisoner of war. Saudi Arabia's is cold, calculated, deliberate and carried out against their own citizens. That they have a legal system that explicitly endorses such barbaric actions is morally worse, in my opinion, than the seemingly crazy violence of ISIS. edit: the SA beheadings are also over witchcraft. Not exactly a legitimate law there. They behead journalists. Completely innocent people who just happen to be associated with a western country. You're delusional if you don't think that's just as cold, calculated, and deliberate. Yes, SA's actions are also reprehensible, but in the land of "which is worse, cancer or cancer," I'll choose at least having the option of NOT being killed. I'm not sure how sophisticated the "witchcraft" laws are, but I suspect you have to be found guilty of doing something. You're not executed just because of your citizenship.

Vaccinations
http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/02/05/fiv...d-with-measles/ I would sue the pants off the parents responsible for this if they're found. Might be tough to prove causation, but i'd still try.

The Beheading
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) I'd say the one that has the guise of legality is actually even worse. How? At least in that situation you're afforded the option of NOT doing something to prevent your death.

The Beheading
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 12:10 PM) It's not ok, but here's a justification. And they accuse liberals of being relative on morality. How do you read that as justification? I'm saying both are wrong and s***ty but one slightly less so.

The Beheading
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 06:08 AM) So tell me, why is it ok for Saudi Arabia to behead someone for witchcraft? Why does that deserve our strong support? I don't think anyone is saying it's ok, but, if we're being honest, at least that's all based on law that people know about. They're not kidnapping and then beheading/setting someone on fire because their country didn't offer ransom money.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) Go Bills. You rooting for and/or watching a second of the NFL means you support murderers, drug addicts, alcoholics, rapists, adulterers, wife beaters, child abusers, animal abusers and unethical rich people. How dare you.
