Here we go... from Woj: Bulls, Heat and Raptors are in advanced discussions on a 3-team trade that would send Jimmy Butler to Miami, sources tell @TheVertical edit: false alarm. Bulls beat guy just retweeted a fake Woj account.

Lowe and Voulgaris btw, think the Bulls did the best they could do. Lopez on a cap friendly deal, a potentially good player in Grant, and they got rid of Rose. I tend to trust those guys on NBA related things.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) Derrick Williams averaged as many ppg as Doug Mcdermott. He isn't a good player. Portis has promise, he was not a good player. New York also has Arron Afflalo. Rose Afflalo Anthony Porzingis C That's probably outperforming anything bulls have. Mirotic and McDermott are names to everyone else but bulls fans. Taj is great. BUt again, we didn't make the playoffs last year in the EAST. WIth Jimmy Butler. With Rose. With that "stacked" supporting class. A lot of that was Butler and Rose playing like ass together. This solved that problem. Go back to the first third of last season when Jimmy was the main guy. They were beating all of the good teams. Something clicked, then they lost it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) taking on this much salary for role players long-term doesn't seem like a solid move as "the first of many trades to rebuild". If they land Durant then suddenly this would make a ton of sense, role players and depth alongside Butler and Durant. But unless that happens? It's non cheap role players alongside Butler. Think of it this way though, the Bulls frontcourt is basically a platoon anyway. Lopes (12, 13.2, 13.7, 14 mil), Taj (8.5 and 9), Portis (1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 2.5, 3.6) and Mirotic (5.5, 5.7, 7.2). So a total of 28-30 million the next couple of years? Out of a 94 million cap?

Lol, seems like New York fans think they gave up too much.

2 months into the season when Rose is battling some lingering ankle issue, missing 5 games here, 8 games there, I think we're all going to be ok with this trade. Bulls aren't winning the championship, so if this is the first of many trades to rebuild, i'm 100% ok with it.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) LOL who Taj, Portis, McDermott and Mirotic. Other than Carmelo and Porzingis, who does New York have?
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) If Robin Lopez is the 2nd best player on your roster, you are the New York Knicks guys. We did it! Come on now, at least the Bulls have some complimentary players to start/come off the bench.

Tommy Beer @TommyBeer 3m3 minutes ago Bulls opponents scored 108.5 points per 100 possessions w/ Rose on the floor. They scored 104.4 pts per 100 possessions w/ Rose on the bench Tommy Beer @TommyBeer 4m4 minutes ago Bulls O-Rating last season with Derrick Rose on the court was 104.6. It was 105.2 with him off the floor.

Even if you're not getting as much value back, at least you're clearing the Butler-Rose log jam.

Haralabos Voulgaris @haralabob 2m2 minutes ago Jerian Grant was buried on the bench because Rambis wanted to play Vujacic, he can play. Nice salary dump + pick up for CHI from the top gambler on the NBA, often on Simmons' podcast.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 02:30 PM) This was not the right move. Lopez and calderon are signed to multi year deals. This was a garbage move by a bunch of terrible executives. This is a terrible trade. What else are you getting for Rose though? If anything you're being nice by giving the guy a fresh start, in a big market, with a year left to get his next big contract. I wonder if they see Grant as someone that can develop? Did anyone see him play last year?

lol, i'm dumb and confused robin for brook lopez.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) ??? Yeah, he totally is. I don't remember him being bad to the point where he had no purpose but to be as evil as possible. He obviously was awful to Theon, but that's about it. We'll see how he is in the books going forward (e.g., if Sansa is sent to him), but he was no more evil or sadistic than Joffrey. IMO the show played him way up to be a clear villain in the show. edit: i mean the guy is in the Bolton family, so he's obviously sadistic. But I didn't remember him being the focal point of villainy for the books. He's a bad dude, don't get me wrong. -

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 08:55 AM) So I clicked on the voucher thing and it showed me the eligible shows but none of them are in the Chicago area? Is that normal or am I doing it wrong? That's what I got too. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 10:04 PM) Jon being crushed under a mass of bodies started to induce some real-life anxiety in me. Liked everything up until the very end. Feeding Bolton to the dogs seems uncharastically sadistic for Sansa and Jon and decidedly un-Stark-like. Ned was always about doing your own dirty work. Thought the Battle of the Bastards was going to be a big nod to Hannibal at Cannae, not sure that would have been any more "obvious" than the route they went (Jon falling for a trap, miracle last-second army saves Jon's ass again!) I wondered the same thing, but thought maybe that was on purpose. Sansa is the "new" generation of Starks. She's not making the same honor/pride mistakes that her father, brother and step-brother have made (or keep making, in the case of Jon). More likely though it was for the sake of audience satisfaction, since Ramsay really wasn't that much of a villain in the books. -
I noticed there are a lot of tickets available if you change the ticket type to include the $40 package.

I love my parents, but not that much!

QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 01:10 PM) I would think either because charges are pending against other individuals or there was some protocol they do not wish to reveal. The first seems possible the second may be more theoretical. Also could it be insensitive to one of the victims? The first is unlikely since someone would have said something by now about another suspect. The second is also unlikely since police procedure is basically public knowledge at this point. Every cable network has some police procedure expert on the payroll. And these were 911 calls anyway. Not sure they included any of the negotiations, but maybe they do. Insensitivity seems like a stretch. I think we all know this was to soften the "another Islamic terrorist" response.

Didn't Connecticut enact an assault weapons ban after Sandy Hook and just this week the SC refused to hear the case challenging it? Why can't this issue be decided on a state by state basis?

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) woo hoo, ended up calling their robot phone number and got tickets for 12/15. what number did you call?

I'm so pissed. I'm trying to get a pair of tickets for my parents. I got on at 10:10 to the website and was able to look at multiple dates and multiple seats without a problem. I thought, oh, well this has been overhyped. So I call my mom just to make sure the dates I was looking at were ok. I go back to the website 5 minutes later and now i'm stuck in "line" while the system "searches" for tickets. I've been waiting for an hour. I despise ticketmaster's system.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 08:34 PM) This is why I like the term "sports hate" Sports hate the hell out of him, but I respect him and like him off the court. Exactly.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) I think that's a weird argument in this case given everything that was already public, including his stated support of various (competing) Islamic groups. Right, then why censor the transcript in any way? Why isn't it verbatim?
