  1. I know, just the Reinsdorf family in general, don’t seem like that type at all. The burner type almost screams for attention and they never seem to want to be out there out there like that before.
  2. Lillian I’m usually with you but there is no way a Reinsdorf is going to waste his time with a silly burner account. They just don’t strike me as the burner type in the least bit.
  3. I have no idea whether or not that has any validity at all but it would make an awful lot of sense considering the obvious hints they did drop at soxfest. That all stuck with me as someone who is excited to tell people awesome news but know they can’t quite yet. Too bad there really are no good sources with this. Hahn and company have kept the negotiations under wraps. I’m starting to believe the only people that know anything are the negotiators and player, that’s it. And maybe Alonso. Lol
  4. Too bad Giolito couldn’t develop a good sinker. Tall guy going over the top and it would make his fastball look that much better to the hitter. He could be our Garland 2.0. Wouldn’t even need that great curve to come around.
  5. FO’s are almost always extremely self aware and totally understand that manipulating the fans expectations are very important. If Hahn had a shadow of doubt that it would get done I would think he would have been smart enough to never give an inkling of real confidence that it would eventually get done. He had a few moments in the past couple days that he did seem all to cocky about it. He knows that the slightest hint can lead the fan base to have high expectations. If they don’t sign him Hahn really messed this up even worse than what it had to be.
  6. False alarm similar to what a few other “insiders” had before soxfest. They all probably share the same source lol
  7. I’ve been saying that the Sox should at least be engaging with Harpers people publicly to gain leverage in the Manny negotiations. They can use that. Tell Manny they only have room to sign one and they are getting closer with Harper. They kind of blew the opportunity to do that when they signed all of Mannys boys to show their commitment to him.
  8. I really don’t believe there was any mystery team. Certainly not one with the highest offer. That was Lozano and the Padres stuff now is facilitated by Lozano as well. He is trying to gain leverage and it’s understandable.
  9. There is value in having a competitive season with these young kids being a part of it. Just because the WS window isn’t likely next year doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try to get some guys to help them be better next year. Pederson isn’t stopping anyone from coming up and getting a shot. He also might stick for the long term eventually, you never know. It can benefit guys like Anderson and Moncada to get used to winning so when it’s tjme to finally be their “window” they know what it takes to win.
  10. True but as a fan you also want your team to have a good amount of flexibility going forward too. I don’t want to hear how they can’t go after a front line pitcher in the next couple years because they gave manny 350 mil when the next highest bidder was at 230.
  11. That gd Hahn...just look at em... sitting there waiting...
  12. Unless the Sox offered over 300 mil this was bound to be the life cycle of negotiating with Lozano. Bringing in another team, even if the team isn’t really serious, was something he was sure to do.
  13. Ultimately tho, I don’t buy there being teams that suddenly have the stupid money to spend as the Sox and Phillies have. Unless the Sox aren’t willing to get into the stupid money territory then which they never were really in it anyways.
  14. So the Padres casually stroll into this with no urgency? Express interest in meeting him just to decide if they might become more “involved”. wtf is this ?
  15. Hahn should be listening ? just as hard as us fans to what Yonder is saying during the interview sessions. Like what was that Yonder? You said maybe a neighbor?...what surprise? Come again?...
  16. Not that I am trying to talk myself into not believing this San Diego guy and of course I have already covered my living room in fecal matter but this really could be a sign that it’s close with the Sox. Lozano feeds some San Diego people to leak to that weirdo that it’s close to give one last push from Sox. Not that that guys report would sway Hahn in anyway but who knows.
  17. If the Sox budget for Manny was semi-low they would have not have invested the money in Alonso and Jay. They would have just put that towards the Manny budget. I’m sure they have a pretty nice ceiling of what they will be willing to go on him.
  18. Yeah, during the one season that the team and talent surrounding the super star player is it’s worst. There has to be some bridge to get Manny through the likely less comptetitive season. The Sox played it well if Manny signs.
  19. He would have to have more than an inkling really. The only way he wouldn’t is if he was one of the extended family members that you really aren’t that cool with. If that was the case they wouldn’t be workout buddies tho.
  20. I feel like I am either delusional and taking things as I want them to be or these guys know this is going to happen. They seem so confident one second with all the innuendo and doubtful the next. Wtf
  21. Fans are trying to mentally prepare themselves for the worst.
  22. Yeah, u would think that even if the Sox came in pretty high Lozano would still do his due diligence to raise that offer too. He would have still tried to bring in other clubs. He would have still threw out imaginary interest to get the Sox to offer more. He would have played the game just as he has with what might by a little bit of a lower offer than expected.
  23. Sox fans didn’t want Hahn to negotiate if we are being honest. They wanted him to make it quick and offer whatever it took to get it done weeks ago, right?
