It just seems like Renteria and Yonder are very comfortable with publicly talking about Manny right now. That’s weird for a guy that you may not sign. Totally normal for a guy you are sure is going to be on your team however.

What would be the plan in regards to waiting? I am honestly asking where they would go with that in your opinion. You either wait for them to be bad or good. At that point when they are proven to be pretty good would you be okay with trading them for a proven ml player? The bad ones won’t matter because no one will want them at that point.

If they traded Basabe an even more talked about name around here this place would blow up. I personally would get over it and move on but damn, soxtalk would immediately jump in them for that one.

If you can avoid trading a 19 year old with upside it would be a good thing. But people are already showing outrage about it when we have no idea if this trade will happen or involve Bush.

You can say that for pretty much all the aggressive front offices. In order to continue getting proven assets through trade you have to show that you are at least willing to roll the dice and trade someone who may be good one day. It looks like they are undervaluing every time they do it and with Tatis it was the most extreme case of it.

One of the byproducts of Tatis is going to be Sox fans constant paranoia and heightened sense of overvaluing prospects. We always over valued prospects before but it’s going to be worse now. Not that the Sox should be giving away all they have but cmon guys we can’t be afraid every time a prospect goes for a proven player.

Chances are among the young talent the Sox have in house there isn’t that bat available to protect and pair with Jimenez. There are some great prospects to fill up that lineup, just not that generational talent like MM or Harper that can really transform the future of this group.

I guess but the Sox need a super star. They don’t have one. Haven’t had one since Sale. Either guy they need equally as bad imo.
