  1. It seemed less impressive without the tension and in slow motion.
  2. Hope they replay it out of the break. Fun to watch.
  3. Any chance we could not have to look at Country Joe West's picture? Just don't like him.
  4. GF not pitching well. Twins hit well. 5 runs... Not enough.
  5. Dunn should only get bubblegum in games where he gets a hit and, unless he gets a home run, should get fined if it comes out of his mouth.
  6. QUOTE (almagest @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) Dunn saw the balk as well. It was pretty clear-cut. I would've agreed if it was a Sox player as well. I agree.
  7. I was at the game tonight (and last night... and will be tomorrow...). Lots of White Sox hats anshirts and cheers. More fun tonight than last night. I enjoyed being around Sox fans, as I live in Colorado. Don't know about the meet-up tomorrow. My father-in-law is flying into Denver at 11:00. I am trying to talk my wife into going alone to get him, but I'm not likely to succeed.
  8. I already posted a few weeks ago that I was excited that the White Sox were coming to Coors. I live in Colorado Springs (And no, I am not one of THOSE people from Colorado Springs.) and have tickets for my family for all 3 games. Can't wait! BTW, did you ever go to the Aurelios Pizza in Parker? It closed a couple years ago, but it was a part of the same Chicago (Homewood, actually. My wife is from there.) chain. Same recipe. We used to drive up there every few weeks.
  9. Nothing new here, really, as far as Dunn's failure to hit. I just want to put my $.02. - The numbers tell the story. He's hitting terribly. - JR gets his $$$ back neither if Dunn keeps playing and becomes a hero, nor if he rides the pine all year, nor if he keeps playing and continues to stink. The "He makes too much money to sit," argument does not hold. Playing or not playing has to be decided based on something else. - The White Sox will obviously be better if he gets back to the proverbial "numbers on the back of his baseball card," so the White Sox should do what they can to get him back. They are trying many things and, so far, nothing has worked. It is not for lack of trying or lack of caring or lack of the basic skills needed. As another poster said, it is a prolonged and awful case of the yips. Golfers will have it for a season and one failure makes the next more likely. - The question to me, then, is whether the Sox can win this lackadaisical division without Adam Dunn. If they can, then he gets a little more time, then gets mostly benched in favor of somebody else playing DH (Viciedo, a rotation, something). If they cannot, they need to give him "forever" to get his head straightened. (Yes, I am one of those who think this is mental.) - As fans, we have to decide if we get more pleasure now from booing him and bringing him down or from the potential future benefits of supporting him or, at least, being respecfully quiet. I do not believe he is lazy or lacks professional pride or commitment. I believe he wants to hit a baseball more than all of the rest of us combined. I believe the crowd's behavior makes it less likely he will succeed. The fans have the right to do it, but I think it is counterproductive. I also think that the longer term effects will be felt. When he starts hitting, and I think he will, he will be justifiably less close to the fans and the city. - Lastly, as human beings, we are better when we are kind and understanding. (Yeah, I know... bleeding heart, unrealistic, one born every minute, join the real world, etc.)
  10. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 04:32 PM) Pena serves no purpose for this team Never ever.
  11. Kosuke looked angry after losing (terribly) that battle.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 10:23 PM) 2 down. Surprisingly.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) Take one for the team, Adam. Let the ball hit you. Pretty please. HBP now!! Hadn't thought of that. Brilliant!
  14. I like bringing Brent in for Q. It's obvious, but Sox don't always do what they should. And why is Dunn batting behind Paulie? No protection AT ALL. AJ's been hitting lately.
  15. Flash mobs (1 word? Hyphenated?) are so 2010. And advertisers should mix up their commercials more so fans of a team don't come to hate them as I hate that AT&T commercial.
  16. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Santos time. Bring him in. Yep.
