  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2012 -> 08:43 AM) Great article on "The Protest" http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1284836...ver-call-vs-cws A must read. Thank you.
  3. In the trade vein, any idea on the PTBL in the Meyers trade?
  4. Just reading this, I have such fond memories of my first Sox game at old Comiskey. Not sure, but I was 5 or so, holding my dad's hand (Bob Ryan, of my signon here.)... Magic. Miss him.
  5. JR Fegan, on twitter: "If we're going to retaliate, let's use a pitcher we won't miss at all if he's suspended"..."I'll get Ohman up"
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) Why cant the f***ing Cubs just take their beating??? He hit him on purpose!!! Pricks. This is why the Sox shoulda been fired up for this series!! The Cubs purposely hit another Sox player. It is bulls*** and it's why the f***ing White Sox should have been fired up for this series instead of sleeping the first two games! Love that passion.
  7. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 09:04 AM) This is true. However, They would have done the same MRI the second time they did as the first for comparison. Since they determined it was a grade 1, the only thing you can really look at for the tendon is the presence of fluid in the tendon. The suscapularis is so small and blends with the teres major and lat tendons that regardless if you use T1, T2 or contrast medium, you really can't "see" the individual tendon well. Injuries to this tendon are often misdianosed using imaging techniques, as are many injuries to the shoulder because of the tight space and many anatomic structures present. I'm not an imaging expert but based on my experience and many research articles I refer to MRIs as "More Radiographic Income" as their true purpose. They can be useful to confirm the physical diagnosis but are not really useful on their own. Agree, particularly on the "income" quote. Hadn't heard your more realistic MRI definition. Love it and will quote it, sourcing appropriately. Thanks.
  8. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:08 PM) sorry I didn't post earlier, we had a late Lacrosse practice last night. ...The crap about the MRI being being better than before is nonsense. If it was worse before, he wouldn't have tried anything in the minors... Happens not uncommonly that using the retrospectoscope on an x-ray shows something not seen previously. Tendinopathy seen initially on contrast MRI allows it to then be localized/visualized on prior plain scan, allowing comparison. Perhaps a stretch (No tendon pun intended.), but not necessarily "nonsense" or "crap."
  9. Some shoulder pathology shows better/best/only on MRI with contrast.
  10. Nice sharp roller to Beckham, 4-6-3, would be nice.
  11. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) Billingsley struggling with command and PK swings on a 2-0 borderline strike leading to the DP, he's been pretty frustrating to watch the past few weeks. And the body language he shows doesnt help either. Per graphic earlier in game. PK's been 10/30 last 8 games going into tonight.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) I'd love for 7 hitters to come to the plate this inning ... And get 1.
  13. Anybody else notice the look on AJ's face as he rolled the ball back to the dugout?
  14. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) Good call, just didn't work out. Yes
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 08:47 PM) *waiting for Hawk to explain "you win 60 lose 60 and then you have 42" for the 500th time in my life ... thinking the same thing.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) Shanked one down the first base line to drive in Beanpole I thought Beanpole pitched last night.
  17. Watched whole game last night. I don't remember Ramirez losing the game for the White Sox.
  18. My brother lives near there. Scared to go with his family as a visiting fan.
  19. Really nice that Sox scored all those runs with some less than good pitching. Good to pick 'em up.
  20. I'm a family practice doc who went to med school at Rush, now living in Colorado. You do not need to go to Mayo. They truly have top notch, world class medical care in the Chicago area. With U of Chicago, Northwestern, Rush, Loyola, and U of Illinois medical schools, the level of expertise is not better anywhere. Push your primary care physician, if he or she cannot help you, to refer you to a neurologist in your area. If that doesn't get the seizures controlled, then the above mentioned medical schools/centers would be the next step. Insurances will have available coverage for the referrals as long as you follow THEIR procedures and work through your primary care physician. If your PCP isn't willing to, or able to, help you or get you to somebody who can, find a different one. Seizure disorder is ALMOST always controllable. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Steve
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2012 -> 03:12 PM) Pitched today, was really good, will wind up with a no decision. Rhetorical question, noting how long ago it seems and how different things were then, but thanks!
  22. Did Humber pitch today? Or was that yesterday?
