  1. Seriously, who is going to take the position? Not anyone with an actual track record. Anyone with any potential knows this is a career killer. It will just be another guy who needs on the job training to grow into the position.

I'm also going to assume he's playing the guys the front office wants him to play.

Asked to elaborate on the “right guys” part of that comment — and on what the Sox clubhouse was really like — Anderson declined.

Tim is just repeating what his teammates said while looking at him the past couple seasons.

  3. While not having the right guys, there was also having some wrong guys.

At least he takes the responsibility of multiple families seriously and wanted to lock in that paycheck to pay for them all.

  4. Where is it? I know we all want to just wallow in the ineptitude, and why not, we're the worst team in baseball. But knowing there are better times ahead would be nice. I can't find any.

But I'm looking at the organization and thinking about the next three years and I'm not seeing enough bodies for a competitive team.

  5. Here's the most likely press conference I can imagine with Pham.

"Thank you so for being here, and thank you to the White Sox for allowing me the opportunity to announce today I'm retiring from baseball. When only the ugliest hooker gives me a hey baby, it's time to hang up the cleats."

Actually, Chris, adding players is relatively easy. In the offseason, you aggressively go after superior talent by offering contracts that are at least competitive in the marketplace. Also, if you ever put a talented team together, you can trade a good player to fill another need. See, Chris, it isn't that hard.

I didn't think a competitive contract would get an established player to come here for the next couple seasons. Given this team and basically any other team, why come here?

They would have to offer over competitive deals or get guys with baggage.

It's like all the fans of other teams that think all their GM had to do was call the Sox and get Cease. It's easy. Call Getz, make an offer, and get the guy. Anyone can do it. Yet it didn't happen for most teams.

  7. I think he speaks the truth. If it was that easy every team would be great. Everyone believes because if a guy signed for X with a club they would also sign with the Sox for the same deal all we had to do was ask. Proposing deals and trades is easy. How many threads have been written here for two decades proving how easy it is?

Now that we've established it's a hard job building a winning team, we now question if anyone in this organization is up to a hard job? I didn't think so.

My 2 favs are:   Outrage: Five reasons why OJ got away with murder by Vincent Bugliosi and Murder in Brentwood by Mark Fuhrman

Thank you, I'm adding  them to my summer reading list.

I've read many books on this whole ordeal. Supposedly when OJ arrived at LAX he was waiting on a sky cap or something and he walked about 50 ft over to a trash receptacle to throw something away. I can't recall if LAPD ever attempted to retrieve the knife

Any of the books you would recommend over the others?

It would be bad no doubt. But the playersknow Pedro is full of it more than we do  Its time. Hire someone to grow with the team.

Isn't he exactly a grow with the team hire? He obviously needs to grow. Any already accomplished manager would laugh if the Sox called.

Pedro would be 50 under .500 with a loss today. I know it's cosmetic,  but can you at least fire him for ineptness?

What would the greatest manager of all time be with this lineup? 49 under? You can't win the Kentucky Derby with a plow horse.

Reds up 3-0, this game is over, teams have to be licking their chops with the White Sox on their schedule.

    Two player reactions --

"I've started ten games in a row, I'll get some rest against the Sox"

"I haven't played in weeks, I'll start two or three when the Sox are in town."

    Front office plans

" He has to serve a three game suspension? When are the Sox in town?"

    Advertisers

"I think we need to spend more on women's bowling this year. Pull this Sox buys"

    Sports writers

"Alexa, what are 100 ways to say suck?"

I'll be shocked if this crew ever wins 3 games in a row.

I see one possible scenario of a three game win steak If a team comes to town really slumping, and the Sox won the previous series final game, they could win the first two in a series before getting blown out 23-0 in the next game.

They have Miami on the road so a three win is unlikely.

Here's the spot. On 7/14 they win the final two against Pittsburgh then they rest during the all star break and come back and win one against KC in KC.
