I do agree with this. If I was one of the lesser players such as Tartabull Id be greatly honored to be up there with the likes of Lee Smith and Andre Dawson. Quite honored... And a question, how many players on this ballot will make it? And who do you think will? Id say the players with the best chances are Smith, Trammell, Mattingly and Eddie Murray. What do you think?

We have Olivo. Im sure this prospect will quickly make MJ news of the past, given the Koch trad happens. Maybe hes a good backup but all he would be doing is resting Olivo occasionally but Olivo has equal defense, a better arm and a MUCH BETTER BAT. MJs career lack of offense is unacceptable.

Well, one person from the MLB board says the trade is imminent yet neither of the two teams official sites says anything about it and the As board also said nothing. Yet the As board is completely consumed in the race for the Worlds Longest Thread so not much help there. So do any of yall think this will happen or is somebody just pulling our leg?I dont know, I think theres a good chance it will happen and Id actually kinda like it. Foulke is a real whiner and his showing this past year was subpar yet he did rehabilitate himself plenty towards the end. And like others have said when Foulkes stuff doesnt break and he doesnt have it hes screwed. Koch is a real closer, just pure power. I think this is a good trade. And whatever with MJ, hes been here long enough, he shouldnt even be in the bigs anymore...

Yes, Tartabull, Daulton and even MW were good but I highly doubt any voters will believe they have HOF stuff. So whatever, none of these lower tier guys will make it...

I started it to find out what you guys think of him being on the ballot. I hate seeing him on the ballot. Lee Smith and Andre Dawson and the like are the ones for which this ballot is made. Any guy who had an ERA of over six for a complete season and a career ERA of 4.12 doesnt deserve to make it into a place thats supposed to honor the best. And spiff, I mentioned his stats because I knew if I didnt someone would ask why so I thought in advance. Even you know that youd ask why if all I said was "Kile doesnt deserve the hall". So I gave the answer before you got the chance to ask it...

But Thurman Munson was a great player, Kile was never more than decent. And if it is a sign of respect, why dont they have Mike Darr on the ballot? He wasnt very good but he did die. Shouldnt they give him equal respect? Atleast be fair...

I pray for him and I respect him as a person (or a soul in heaven now I guess) but he doesnt deserve such a high honor just because he died. He had some truly horrendous years in his career (in Colorado but horrendous nonetheless) and then he had plenty of mediocre seasons. He ended with a career ERA of 4.12. Thats probably about Todd Ritchies ERA before 2002. And sheesh, while were at it lets just toss in Mike Darr and every other poor soul who has died in the middle of the season. He had a good career and a good life but leave this honor for those who earn it. And look at some of the other names on the ballot. Darren Daulton, Danny Tartabull and Mickey Tettleton? Thats pathetic, this years ballot is truly messed up...

And whats the whole point in this trade? Its like the David Wells trade. Were basically switching comodities. Ace for ace, closer for closer. And besides, I know Foulke can return to old and when he does so I know hell be a better pitcher than Koch. I dont like this trade at all. Go get something we need, KW. And as for MJ, screw him.
