Well, some of you may have seen, I told my story about that hot flirty cheerleader in the pet peeves thread. So the other day I took yalls advice to talk to her. So I went up to her and said hello and then I asked for her number. She said maybe later but right now she wasnt sure her boyfriend would like that. And I havent seen her since. So first, what the f*** kinda person goes off and flirts like a motherf***er only to tell you later that she has a rather intolerant boyfriend? Do you girls do that? Do yall flirt with other boys while having a boyfriend? Id be cool with it if she had given me her number and said we were just friends. But no! She neglected it altogether! This maybe a little late, but heres what Id do. The next time I saw the girlfriend, Id dump her with some insane reason like "youre cheating on me!" and Id do it very bluntly and Id leave quickly with out any of that "we can still be friends bulls***." Im good at doing this. You may ask why Id do such a thing instead of just saying something like "things havent worked out. Well, if I trick myself into thinking that shes an evil cheating little b**** and if the other relationship didnt work out and Im single again, it would be a lot easier to take than if I had just dumped her out of foolishness and lust. Youre not totally correct. There are many Sox fans who love Val, such as ncorgbl from mlb. As for me, Im neutral. I admire him for dumping the trend and staying with us for less money than he coulda got in Baltimore but his stats really arent that good. But he should stay with us. If Willie Harris had shown he could hit a little, Id put him at second and Jimenez at short. But since he hasnt Id put Jimenez at second and Val at short. However, dont get me wrong. i love Harris. He is al over the place. He plays very fundammentally, I love that.

Oh yes, greg, I remember that time. Id say it was the turning point in the season. We were 28-21. Then we went on a 7 game losing streak against the Skanks and the Tribe. That put us at .500 and we kept falling from there. By the time we recovered, the Twins had already ran away with the division... Another good time was when the Tribe was looking unstoppable and they were 11-1 and we went in beat the s*** outta them and put them in a permanent downward spiral. Unfortunately, as I already mentioned, they came back and brought us down with them a couple of weeks later...

Thanks greg. As for the heart and soul thing, maybe you are right. Thomas has done some stubborn things lately and maybe for that hes not the heart and soul of this team. But hes still a big part of the Sox. Same with PK and Val. They do too much finger pointing to be the heart and soul but this team would be considerably weaker with out them. The guys on this team who are the heart and soul are Maggs and MB. They never rag on their teammates. When Buehrle lost his last game this year and he only had 2 runs of support, he didnt say a word. He kept his composure. Even tho he pitched a great game and lost, he stayed calm. And Maggs is also calm and loved by his teammates. When Rocky Biddle hit that maggot Piersynski with a pitch because AJ had told Maggs to f*** off a few days before, that happened because this whole team loves Maggs. Do you think if AJ told, say, Liefer to f*** off, any of our pitchers woulda done anything? No. But since it was Maggs, I bet there were several pitchers wanting to come put one right in that punks teeth. Also, you can always count on Maggs and Buehrle. When were down late in the game and Maggs steps up, I just know we can win. If were shooting for the playoffs and the game is crucial, once I see that Buehrle is pitching, I get that great feeling that were going to be playing in October! These two are easily the heart and soul of this team.

Yeah, while I was writing this post I was kinda worried that the writer might be a board member and I apologize to doublem if he is offended by this. I actually read the offensive projection and thought it was very good, conservative while not pessimistic. Also, if you take out Simas, Porzio, Valentine, Ginter and Almonte, all of whom most likely wont be on the team next year, we are 89-70. Comsidering some players may make minor impacts thruout the season that comes out about right...

Oh maybe thats just me. I always make sure the win loss total adds up to 162. Maybe if this guys total added up to 170 games I wouldnt have jumped on him so much but, come on, he went 37 over the actual total. Thats sad.

I added up the W-L column trying to see what he thought our record would be. I counted 99 wins so I assumed there must be 63 losses. Very, very good, I thought. Then I decided to make sure he got it right. Well, along with maybe the Tigers and D-Rays, we were one of the few possible 100 game losers in baseball. I had counted 100 losses! Mr Michel, which league are you referring to? Cuz the league I follow sure doesnt play 199 games...

WHOA! Hey guys, I think KW blew it again but you people are talking about it like its the end of the world! This is Cory Lidle, not Bartolo Colon or Greg Maddux. Lidle was 8-10 this year and hes already 30 with only 33 career wins. We missed out but it aint that bad. It is likely that KW will make only one major trade this offseason (like major as in the David Wells trade, he will probably make several minor importance Osuna trades) and if he does that, Id much prefer that he grab Colon or Vasquez, not Lidle.

Yep, its a done deal. Lidle was traded to Toronto for minor leaguers Mike rouse and Chris Mowday. Rouse hit .260 with 9 HRs at AA and Mowday had a 2.99 ERA at single A. Toronto got them dirt cheap. I bet we coulda had him for MJ and another middle class prospect. KW blows it again...

For you guys, what were the highs and lows of the Sox 2002 season? I know this might be a little late but it is still a fun topic. Here are my votes: HIGHS 1) That eight run comeback against the Cubs in May. Truely amazing. We were down 8-0 in the 4th and I was watching on gamecast (I live in VA Beach so I only get a TV game like once a week) and it was a beautiful day outside and I decided screw this, Im leavin. When I came back, it was 8-4. A base hit drove in 2 more and then PK hit his second HR of the day. At that point I just went nuts! Osuna K'd samME and we won the game on a marvelous comeback against our crosstown rivals... 2) We were at Comiskey. It was the bottom of the ninth and Toronto is looking for the 4-2 win. Kelvim Escobar is on to pitch. One quick out. Then a man got on with a single. Joe Crede, who at the time wasnt hitting his weight and I truely didnt like back then, comes to the plate. He hit a game tying HR just out of reach of Vernon Wells over the centerfield fence. Then moron man-ual takes out Buehrle who had a complete game (if he pitched the tenth, he coulda gotten the win which would have meant he woulda won 20 on the season). Anyways, bullpen does well and we go tied to the bottom half. We load the bases with one out and guess whos up? You got it, the man who already was the hero, Crede. I was expecting him to be the hero again but with something like a sac fly. To my amazement, he hits a GW GS! THAT GAME WAS AWESOME. Hopefully JC will show us some more similar heroics in the future. LOWS Now for the one low of this season which stands out above all others... We were playing the Twins in that pitiful excuse for a stadium. MB was on the mound. He was going for win number 20. He went to the bottom of the eighth, winning 2-1. He had been in several jams but he escaped all of them. With 2 away and a man on, he faced Bobby Kielty. That punk ass motherf***er then ruined it all by hitting a cheap opposite field shot to give the motherf***ing Twins the win... That series was the low point of the season. We had to win just once to be above .500 but instead we lost all 3. That sucked. But atleast they didnt kick our asses like we did to them like a week before that. THAT SERIES WAS COOL! It was a Minne-massacre. I remember Carlos hitting that GS in the 14-4. Hawk didnt even do his routine, he just sat there and said "oh lordy". I got to watch like 2 of those game son TV. Very cool...
