  1. Ive always said that if we can get Colon for Lee among others, I would do it. I just dont want to trade him away for nothing or, in fact, anything less than an above average SP.
  2. Liefer can go to hell. Hes a little whiner. Use him as trade bait, Carlos stays. So maybe the more walks than Ks isnt that important but Im just trying to point out that his patience has improved.
  3. Not Wells. No way in hell I want Wells back here. And El Duque is about 37 so I say we go after Pettitte. Hes probably about 30 and hes a darn good pitcher. Lets just not overpay.
  4. I am a huge fan of Carlos. Yes, getting picked off in that Expos game was pathetic and sometimes hes not the best baserunner or fielder but hes got a great bat and unless we can get a Colon or a Vazquez he shouldnt be traded. Do yall know he was one of 13 pros to have 80 RBIs and more walks than strikeouts? With his newfound patience at the plate (75 walks, 45 of them in 62 post-AS games), he should develop into a very good hitter. After the break last year, he hit .283 with 13 HRs and 39 RBIs. Thats pretty good. CLee is a keeper!
  5. Uh, yeah actually, I have seen JB play at Norfolk during his stay with Charlotte. He went 1-4 with 3 Ks I believe. Thats not too impressive. Honestly, I was about to mention Thomas in my previous post. We thought he had potential but the other teams laughed in our face for taking him so high. Well, now that hes almost a sure HOF whos laughing now? As for the original topic tho, I dont think JBs gonna flop, I just think he needs more time. If he can play center, great, but not left, not this year. Lee is gonna have a career year, I can feel it. JB should be called up late in the year to play center and maybe hell start here in 2004.
  6. Jim Edmonds has no range? Are you insane? He gets everything that comes anywhere near him! Hes got tremendous range! Borchard cant play center, plain and simple. And didnt Ryan Leaf have no ceiling to what he can do? And Ben McDonald? Werent they limitless at times in the past? Where are they now? So far, Joe Borchard has a .211 career BA with 2 HRs and 5 RBIs. He hasnt shown us anything yet, while Jiminez, who was never as highly touted as JB, has. Fine, scouts say JBs a star but he hasnt done anything worthy of stardom yet.
  7. Im also glad to see DJ doing well. Hes going to be our leadoff hitter next year barring any big signings. Id say he could hit .280 with 100 runs scored. As for Borchard, he didnt look that hot last year and since he doesnt have the range of a CF, all hed be able to do is replace El Caballo in left. And after Carlos' past year Im not sure Id want that. Do yall realize that Lee was one of 13 pros to have atleast 80 RBIs and more walks than strikeouts? He was. I would glady trade Carlos to get a Colon or a Vazquez but to replace him with a youngster who hit .211 in limited action no way. Borchard has a bright future but it aint here yet...
  8. Hitchcock is not a piece of s***, he could actually be quite decent. If KW got him I would not be at all upset.
  9. I wouldnt exactly call Wright or Biddle one of the best young arms in the game. They arent, and probably never will be, a Barry Zito, or even a Damian Moss, who are truly some of the best young arms in the game. Biddle shouldnt be in the rotation, Ritchie should. Last year was a fluke for Ritchie. He has been very good in the past, I think he deserves another chance. But well have an eye on him. If he falters, Biddle will step in immediately...
  10. I dont think Rocky should be a starter and I dont even think hes a very good pitcher but I respect him for knocking down that f***er Ass Job Pure-s***-sky. Hes a team player and I like that. But lets not make him a starter. Without any more moves, Buehrle, Garland, Ritchie, Wright and Rauch are our starters. If anyone fails, Biddle can step in, not Glover.
  11. I think Pettitte would be a good choice, especially if we can get him for very little but not Weaver. The man is a headcase and theres too much bad blood between us. Im still pissed at him for that brawl a few years back and Im damn happy we kicked his ass!
  12. I hated Lord of the Rings. I was so happy when it was over. Maybe the second one will be better, but I dont care to find out. Or maybe I just didnt like it because its the movie my buddies chose to watch before "The Rock" and "The Rock" is like my favorite movie ever...
  13. I hope both the Skanks new f**gots fall flat on their faces. In other words, I hope Contreras and Matsui both suck...
  14. Well, it is a tough choice, given all the depth we have in our farm system. If I left Rauch out Id say Malone would be the fifth man. I really like Malone and I really hope he pans out. I hope all of these guys pan out. As for Haigwood, Ive never heard of him before today and he is really low down there so Im not getting my hopes up for him yet. But I wish him luck...
  15. When it comes to Sox pitching prospects Id say the top five are: 1. Rauch 2. Honel 3. Ring 4. Diaz 5. Almonte Strumm, West and Malone I used to think were going to be good but theyve slowly faded out of the picture while guys like Stewart and Sanders are rising thru the levels...
  16. Well, he did rather lousy at such a low level but Haigwood looked sharp. But theyre both so low we shouldnt even waste our time. Neither will be making the bigs for a while, if ever, with all the minor league pitching depth we have...
  17. perhaps first you should find the 6 people on soxtalk who actually own an xbox and work your way down. 7 people, Im sure Ive never mentioned that I do have an xbox. But no, hawk, I dont have xbox live. I wish I did but I dont...
  18. Well, Miller, with a 4.30 ERA at A ball, doesnt look like much but this guy Haigwood could be a pleasant surprise. Hes at a good age for the rookie league but that means he wont be here for five years atleast. But he had good stats and from what you say LDF his speed seems to be progressing...
  19. Oh my bad. Maybe I goofed him up with the Molinas. They hate those guys. Or maybe I was just listening o the opinions of the more pessimistic Angels fans who hate everyone. But either way, even KW could do better. With Eric Owens! Thats a guy we should get...
  20. To fill our main weaknesses, Eric Owens (cf) and Ramon Martinez (sp) would be good pickups. They wont get much interest but they do the job. RM use to be an ace and EO has a decent bat and can play center...
  21. Nah, no power, not much average and nothing spectacular with the glove. Angels fans hate him and we probably would too. A perfect KW move...
  22. Exactly. Look at DJs stats with us last year. A fluke? Perhaps. But lets give him a chance until he proves it is a fluke.
  23. I'm not the one that a day after declaring myself a KW backer turned a 180. How are your f***ing Redskins doing? :puke I was expecting KW to make a big deal, stupidly, I actually had that much faith in him. He blew it and he still continues to blow it so I no longer support the loser. And, for your other question, much better than the Bears...
  24. I do like the guy but how exactly would we use him? You say he cant play catcher or centerfield and those are our two main weaknesses. Jiminez has second and Manos has short (as much as I do dislike him). Crede has third, PK first and Frank DH. Carlos and Maggs are the obvious corner outfielders unless Carlos is dealt in a trade for pitching and then FC would be a good pickup to start in left, but unless that happens theres no point. Graffys good enough of the bench and he does his job we dont need to replace him...
  25. I actually agree with spiff for once. You are stupid! This is called a joke, its supposed to provoke thought and belittle KW and JR. Lighten up, tightass.
