We traded Abbot for Garcia, who is still in our system without much hope. IMO, the game that epitomized the 2000 Sox was the Angels comeback. I lived in Spain but at the time I was back in the US to be with my grandma in her final days. I went to the next door neighbors house and watched the game which was one of like 3 televised games I saw during those three years I lived in Spain. It was the top of the eighth and the Sox were down 6-2. They scored two that inning and went against Percival in the ninth. Somebody (perhaps Jeff Abbot) tied the game and Ray Durham put us ahead but then the Angels tied it in the bottom half. In the tenth we took over and added four runs to grab the 11-7 win. 2 runs over 8 innings but then 9 over 3. Amazing... For me, outside of the games Ive seen live at Comiskey, this game, the multihomer game for JC and that Cubs comeback are my favorite Sox membories ever...

Me: Hello Mr Williams, Im Joe Roman from soxtalk.com and if you dont mind I have a couple of questions to ask you. KW: Sure, I have all the time in the world even though there are several decent FAs out there that should I get my immediate attention but Ill instead give it to you. Me: Why thank you. Shall we start? KW: Yes. Me: When and how do you plan to get the vital SP this team needs to go the distance? KW: When Brad Pitt comes out looking like a human bowling ball with a toupe. Me: Uhuh. How about the CF we could desperately use? KW: The very day Saddam Hussein shows up on Bushs door step and announces his intention to run for US democratic party leader. Me: Like never? KW (turns attention to 10 year old playgirl magazine): You betcha. Me: Do you ever think of giving yourself a swirlie? KW throws the magazine across the room and lights up like a Christmas tree. KW: Self inducted swirlies?! Thats sounds great! Could you excuse me for a minute? Me: Umm... Before I even finish KW is off in a flash down the hall and into the bathrooms. I sit down and start to read. Ten minutes later Kenny boy comes back soaked with a 100 megawatt grin on his face. KW: I should do that more often! That was great! Me: Might I suggest you focus a little more on your job than on a childhood prank? KW (totally zoned out in excitement): Whatd you say your name was again? Me: Oh nevermind... That is in my imagination how an interview with that imbecile would go...

Well combined with what cerb said, the fact that hes about 40, the fact that he gets beaten by his wife (not that Im sexist, I just like tough hardass people, probably because Im a hardass myself) and the fact that we beat the s*** outta him earlier this season makes me now want him here at all. We can do without Finley. Maybe Person, Hermansen or JB, but not Chuck.
-
Not that much, but maybe if you chain me to my bed and have a big plastic spider hanging above me. Spiders scare the s*** outta me...
-
Damn, hsc, I wish I was your kid. I drink that s***! LOL
-
Do you mean KW could be watching us? Oh s***!
-
s***! If I said what I truly want to do to KW right now Id probably get the boot from this board and an FBI arrest warrant. I hate Kenny so much. Why cant he and Jerry go f*** themselves and get the f*** outta baseball? I swear, Im gonna kick Kennys ass!

Of those players that we can sign, I wouldnt mind at all signing JB, Hermansen, Person, Moehler or Jose Cruz Jr. Moehler and Hermansen would both be cheap and they have been decent to above average in the past. Person has had problems with injury but he was good in Philadelphia and that shouldnt change if he came to the Southside. I always loved James when he was here and he pitched with so much heart. Hes not the best pitcher on that list but he was a good friend of FT (Ray was the other good friend of Frank and I think Frank may do better if he has a good friend on the same team) and hes got so much heart, hes a fighter, not a quitter. As for Jose he could play center but he wouldnt be leading off. Jiminez would take care of that. The guys I dont want anything to do with are Toad Ritchie and Kenny Lofton, no explanations are needed...

I hate Shockey the little b****. Throwing water at fans, talking s*** for the silliest things... His and TOs behavior yesterday was unacceptable. On that 2 point conversion interception, TO shoulda known it was a deadball and even if it was a live ball he was still way outta bounds. Williams screwed up by pushing on TO because the Niners woulda had repercussions if SWs personal foul didnt offset the aforementioned offense. As for Shockey, I believe the league should take action on the water throwing incident. Shockey is a disrespectful punk, end of story...

Somebody will be fired for that last play, the special teams totally screwed up. Go to "Whatta game!" and I explain it with more detail...
-
Well, I was rooting for the Niners because I love big comebacks so I guess I got what I wanted but that was a great game. Even my two brothers (who hate football) were into it. The Giants completely blotched that final play. Their special teams hould be getting a pink slip for that. It was third down, all Allen had to do was throw it out of bounds and theyd get another shot with about 3 seconds left. Instead one of the linemen goes down field and Allen decides to throw a wobbly crap ball to him! So I guess I cant really blame Allen as there would still be a penalty for that illegal man downfield and for a bad snap but somebody will be fired for that play. Otherwise I thought both teams played well and it was really exciting to see such a great comeback!

The Rangers aren't the only team with extremely questionable starting pitching . That was just an example that really stuck out in my head. And like chisoxfn said our rotation isnt as bad as everyone seems to think...

I've been considering that. Was trying to think of something that could go between All Star and MVP or MVP and Hall of Famer. Nah, keep HOF at 2000. At 5000 you can have the top rank, legend. Like Babe Ruth and Paul waner are both HOFs but only Babe Ruth is a legend. Thats what I would do... I love that idea, I'm going to do that. Cool! So hows it gonna be done? All the original ranks like they are and legend at the top? Cool... Thanks for using my idea...

The Browns choked, such an embarrassment. Even tho Im pulling for the Falcons in all of this (I like Michael Vick and my HS has the nickname Falcons) I wanted the Browns to win. Yet The Steeleres played well and overcame a big deficit. I still think however that if Holcombs last pass in the final seconds coulda been closer to the sideline Dawson coulda kicked a game tying FG. But oh well, Falcons are still in it!

Id kinda like help getting my picture of Comiskey Park with my name written across it in my sig too. Can someone help us?
-
You talking to me? Id love to beat the crap outta AJ (Ass Job)! He and Tori Hunter are the only ones I really dislike...
-
Hey, if we beat the s*** outta anybody lets beat the s*** outta A(ss) J(ob). I hate that f*****. God bless RB for hitting his ass! As for the f***** thing, guess it really doesnt matter since he really is a little f*****...

Hes one stupid motherf***er, Ill tell ya that. Hes what, an SP? How many top notch SPs do the Skanks have? 7? Ha, f*** that motherf***er, any smart b**** woulda signed for the same amount of money for some team like the Rangers who have like no SPs! He aint that special, he shoulda known the Skanks werent gonna sign him big like the rest of their guys. Hell never be anything and if I ever have the displeasure of meeting that b**** Ill laugh in his motherf***ing face!
-
s***, I know, how can this franchise live on? Cory Lee sucks, lets the Skanks have him. We dont need that b****!
-
Buddy, why exactly would we want to? I mean, he is a good player but we have no need for him. Just a few days ago me and wsf were in an argument about where to put JB. Can you imagine all the confusion if we got Cuddyer? Right now, JB is coming up in center, Lee is heading for a career year in left and Maggs is gonna do the norm in right. We have no need nor any room for more outfielders...

It didn't take MB long to adjust though. I remember watching a one-hitter he pitched against, I think it was, the A's in late 2001. It was against the DRays and even tho theyre not exactly a powerhouse its incredibly hard to one hit somebody in this day and age. He gave up a hit and walked one and that was it.

I believe Rogers' agent is Bora$. I got three words for you: not gonna happen Yuck, forget that idea. I HATE BORAS!
-
Well, there, I fixed the avatar. Now I just need help with the sig graphics. What so yall think of my avatar? As for Cuddyer, I just know hes a really good prospect with the Twins. He was hitting the ball real hard today. He wasnt facing tough pitching, just his dad but he did hit a bomb off our very own Mark Buehrle this past season. Other than that, I dont know much more about him...
-
I had my own hitting lesson going so I wasnt really watching but then my instructor Norm Martel (who is at single A in our organization) told me who he was. He was a real big guy. Like 6'3, 220. He was also doing a lot of the drills I was (one hand hitting, situations...). He was there with his dad. Anyhow, it was pretty cool... So what are we doing about the avatars? Should I just go out and find a new one? I could do that...
