Well, I went to the batting cages today and hit in the cage next to none other than Minnesotas Mike Cuddyer. I kinda wanted to tell him that I was a Sox fan and that the Twins stunk but my dad stopped me. I woulda gotten his autograph if he was a Sox or a superstar but he wasnt so I didnt. Then I come back here and the boards looked rather odd and Im not sure what to think. Some things I like and others I dont. Among the cool things is that there are stats for just about everything. I now know its heathers b-day today so Happy Birthday! Then the things I dont are that guests can post anywhere and blue on a White Sox board? Just kinda odd. But with the anonymous posters on all forums idea, regular members could come and take shots at people and no one would know who it was. But, come to think of it, if that ever happens, I guess yall know who to look to, lol...

People fail because someone goes and says theyll hit 50 HRs and they only hit 40. He has failed the set objective hasnt he? But in the grand scheme of things he still did great. But he failed to hit ten more homers so he failed. Isnt that the way life is? Yes indeed. And Im not talking about people sucking. Im talking about the person who does good but doesnt live up to his great expectations. This guy who hits 40 bombs instead of 50 does good even great but he doesnt live up to his even greater expectations.

Thats why I didnt like Koney for a while. I hate when these guys point people out. PK and Val didnt need to do what they did but unlike Val, PK has the numbers that lead to my forgiving him. Val has done nothing to redeem himself in my eyes and Id really like him out of Chicago (well, the Northside would be ok I guess).

Has he done it yet? No. So what happens when he only hits .270 with 25 HRs? We will label him a failure. Such high expectations are why people fail. And Im donje arguing about Lee. I think hes great and I hope he stays. So yall know my opinion, and this time it aint changing!

I wasnt dissappointed with Thomas last year. Everybody thinks those are bad numbers for him but guys like Jeromy Burnitz have great seasons with those numbers. The people who thought Thomas was bad last year were the people who set his expectations. And Im not setting any expectations yet. When and if he gets here and starts hitting then I will see what we have and I will assess.

More expectations! What if he hits .270 with 20 HRs? Youll be bloody pissed, wont ya? Those would still be good numbers but due to such high expectations he will be viewed a failure! And Lee is a great hitter. Hes proven himself at this level. His fielding has improved and hes much more patient at the plate. Hell be fine. And before Joe ever goes pro he should shorten that swing. These guys up here who can throw in the mid to high 90s will blow Joe away with such a long swing.

Why? Like I ask of Roman, what have you seen in a month to a month and a half of MLB play from Borchard to label him "a nothing?" I never said hed be a flop, I just said nothing is guaranteed from him yet. You guys will make him a bust by giving him such high expectations. If he hits 25 bombs instead of 40 (like most of yall seem to think) you will see him as a failure. Let him be whoever he will be and stop making these darn expectations!

I never said JB would be a flop. I said he could very well be a flop and that so far hes given us nothing so dont write him off as a big star yet. What happens if we all talk here about how hes gonna hit 40 HRs every year and he ends up hitting only 25 with a .280-.290 BA? Yall will see him as a failure since he didnt hit 40 but in the big scheme of things he still will have done well. And also, ncorgbl was the one high on Jose and he still is. Ive never liked Jose, I prefered playing the superior Clayton at short. But when they released "The Choice" I just sucked it up and went with Jose, since we were stuck with him.

Well, which console? Ill tell ya the best sports games just for Xbox since that is what I have. The NFL Fevers are the best football games on xbox and World Series Baseball is the best series of xbox baseball games. Just my opinion, man...

OK, but none of us are played to play pro baseball. I dind't see RPS or anyone saying, "give me a f***ing mitt and I'll do a better job than him." Lee is, at best right now, a below average outfielder. His offense is average to slightly above for a corner outfielder, but his defense (despite his improvement) is still horrible. And getting picked off third base, trailing in a close game in the ninth is inexcusable. That is a sign of total lack of baseball fundamentals. Teams win because they have guys that may not put up monster stats, but because they have players that understand the game and play smart. Do you honestly see Carlos being an everyday starter on a World Series caliber team? I sure as hell don't. However, I will agree with LDF that since his value is still relatively low and Joe B. is still in need of another year in the minors, we my as well keep him and hope he hits the way soxfan420 thinks he can... Maybe we can get someone for him. Hopefully, when Borchard is ready, they stick him in right, put Maggs in left, and get themselves a centerfielder. If Caballo is below average, Joe is nothing. I dont know why anyones excited about him at all. He has done nothing in the pros and very well could be the next Chad Hermanson. Crede is a prospect that I like and he will be the real thing, he has shown us that potential. JB has not and perhaps he never will. Caballos a fine LF, if JB never shows up it really wont matter. If he does, he can play center but no way he takes Carlos place.

Joe Crede is the real thing and everyone here knows that but JB has yet to show us anything. I think he will be the real deal but until he starts hitting Im not promising anything.

Im perfectly content with Carlos in left and Rowand should be a great CF. If he does show up, fine, I just dont know where to put him. He sure aint kicking Carlos out.
