  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 23, 2013 -> 09:51 PM) Does anyone actually like Windows 8? It's an interesting concept and I think they're basically going in the direction that computing is heading, but the mobile-ish interface has got to get frustrating for certain tasks. I like it. I can get to things I need a lot faster from the tiled menu than the usual start menu. It's not really that much different than 7 other than that. I'm not sure what tasks would be more difficult on 8 than 7?
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 08:58 PM) I went 4 straight yrs when I was in Carbondale but between being poor and that asshole coach we had, I haven't been in 3 or so yrs. I hear ya. This will be my sixth straight.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) I thought about it but between taking off a few days for Arch Madness and taking Thursday-Friday off for the first week of the big dance, I couldn't swing it. Speaking if which, my Arch Madness tickets came in the mail today. Hooray! Do you always go to Arch Madness?
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 08:50 AM) Its actually not bad as it doesnt fully solidify for some reason. It makes em last longer for me since I have to take smaller bites. Frozen Samoas are delicious. You are right about making them last longer too. They are definitely the cookie I can eat a box of without noticing.
  5. Same as here. Stopped using it once Steve started following me.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) He caught the ball with his leg in a normal position, then kicked it out while looking at the guy and hit him. I guess we just have different interpretations of intent. In no way was that any sort of basketball play. It's a judgement call. There is bound to be different opinions. Just didn't like the way the refs handled it by not making any call initially and then letting Marshall send out an 80% shooter in place of a 53% shooter for the free throws.
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) LOL. What does kicking your leg out accomplish, if not to clear out anyone near you? Of course it is used to clear out people near you. For a flagrant foul to be called in that situation there has to be intent which I don't believe happened but you and referees clearly do. This doesn't even mention that they didn't call a foul at all until Marshall whined about it and the fact that they let the wrong player shoot the free throws. Which the referees are being disciplined by the league for. In that situation, with no contact above the shoulders, I think it should have been either a no call or a personal foul on Carmichael. Not a flagrant. Just my opinion though.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 04:55 PM) If you're referring to the karate kick, that was about as easy a call as you can get. Not really questionable. No idea what you're doing kicking your leg out at a guy after you already have the rebound. Tons of people kick their legs out on rebounds. I've seen him do it a million times. It wasn't above the shoulders and I really don't think it could be proved intentional. I'm sure his first thought after leaping for a rebound was to look around to see if there was someone he could kick.
  9. Apparently the coaching staffs of WSU and ISU had to be pulled apart by security after the game last night. I'm hoping for a rematch at Arch Madness.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 05:21 AM) Refs didn't lose that game. Questionable maybe, but you were up 7 with 40 seconds left. I'd still pick IllSt to win Arch Madness right now. Well it certainly changed the entire momentum at the end. Still should have won and Wichita still needed to make every shot they took. I won't be too mad unless we have to play on Thursday because of this.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 17, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) I dunno. how long is the skirt? Too long.
  12. Does it look ok if I wear a black skirt with pale legs?
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 07:15 AM) The more I've thought about it, the more I want the S3/S4 over the Note 2/3. I think the Note is super cool, but that might be crossing a size threshold for me. Like others have mentioned, it'd be nice as a work phone. I could expect to take calls with it and just use a bluetooth device for calling and never have to put that big ass thing up to my ear. For personal use though, I only get calls every couple days or so. The rest is a little texting and then internet and app use. I don't want to have to put that freaking brick up by my face in public when I happen to receive a call. I want to go bigger than my iPhone (not that I really hate the iPhone, it's been very good to me), but for now I'm sticking with the pretty damn big S3/S4 for my next purchase. Others are just too big. It honestly doesn't feel that weird using the note 2 for calls. Maybe if you're a tiny person. As an average sized dude I'd say it's really not that big.
  14. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 10:59 AM) Got tickets to Feb 26 game, have a feeling he won't even be back then. f***. I'm going March 18. Should be back by then.
  15. My note 2 fits in my pocket comfortably. Nothing else can go in there with it though.
  16. My Note 2 is my work phone and it is perfect for that. I'm not sure if I would be as big a fan if it was my personal phone. As I have it right now I just keep it in my bag and on my desk. I have a smaller phone for my pocket.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 9, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) My roommate's girlfriend got a Galaxy Note 2 today and I got to hold it in the hand and compare it to my Nexus phones. Yes, it is bigger than my Nexus 4 (by an entire top bezel in fact), but It didn't feel too big for me to use at all. Also, the heaviness of the phone made it feel a lot more solid than other plastic phones like the S3. Yeah, I got mine yesterday. Loving it so far.
  18. Just got a galaxy note 2 from work. This thing is huge.
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2013 -> 06:55 PM) If we're getting in a homer fight, Tony Young was a better on ball defender than both Oladipo and Craft. I'd agree with you.
  20. QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 27, 2013 -> 02:18 AM) Saw Kendrick Lamar on SNL (never even heard of him until tonight) is he supposed to be "good" or "bad", cause based on the song which seemed to only have the lyrics "drink" and "die" in it repeated over and over.... I'd put him in the "bad" category haha (you know super white hip hop expert that I am haha) I personally really enjoy his album. It took some time for him to grow on me though.
