harris always hits in the minors...then when he is promoted to the bigs he starts hitting everything in the air...willie harris has to prove he is willing to change his game to more of a luis castillo tpye....its his only shot at the majors because no one has figured out how to steal first base yet

ive seen prior twice now..once this year and once last...i dont see how he wont become a superstar barring injury or a complete mental meltdown...though with the cubs anything is possible if anyone hasnt seen jake peavy pitch yet you should check him out..the movement on his pitches are amazing..that kid also has a shot to be a stud

dj is locked in right now..he is hitting everything , hits and outs, hard..lets wait till he cools off and hits a stretch of o'fers and see how he reacts..when that happened in san deigo he made royce clayton like cal ripken when it came being a team player....dj can can sulk and act like a baby when things dont go his way...id like to see play a sold season before we annoint him the next robbie alomar..though he does have robbie's personality

Spiff, I found much in tao that relates to, adds to, enhances Judeo/Christian thought - in that they are middle eastern religions in origin may somehow show some connections - but I see taoism as not antithetical to Scriptural faith what a wonderful consort - whatever you would wanmt to say about tao I would love to read - and I am not alone in interest in taoism; there are entire Christian meditative communties that operate in taoist principles and insights I have operated my faith wioth some reliance on the tao since the late 60s when I first encountered it in Frances Fitzgerald's Fire on the Lake. And as far as zen might so - again, many places of congreunce where I would ove to learn more. for natural diasters - earthquakes, forest fires, all those things have their replace as the natural consequence of the nature of the planet - they are destructive only when humans inhabit those places where these things happen. But they are part of the renewal and reshaping of the earth and just a part of natural process, which as in physical life, means changes and ultimaye destinations of death. Without earthquakes, with volcanoes, the world as we know know wouldn't be - without an ice age what the earth would be like is unimanigable - our lakes, rivers, moutains, all because if such natural things. What is scary is people f***ing up the world by havoc on the ecology- global warming may drastically alter the world of our children and grandchildren. A raise of a few degrees of temperature can wipe out the gread basket in the US and ctreate major problems with fod production, and these effects may be felts as soon as 2050. My grandson will be 55 then and he and his family will suffer from our refusal to take seriosuly rthe destruction of the ozone. And when this happens, as always, the problem causers will be: people. if what i read is correct over the last 100 years the earth's average tempature has gone up less than 2 degrees....in that time the earth's populatiion has what , more than doubled???..i find less than 2 degrees increase amazingly stable...just out of randomness i would the difference either way would be more than that...just one really cold winter or one really hot summer world wide could skew the average a degree or two... i dont know , so many people to me have such a doom and gloom outlook for the future..i find this an amazingly wonderful time to be on this earth....look at the difference in advances the world has made from 1800 - 1900 as opposed to 1900 -2000...its incredible to me how much we have advanced in those 100 years..figure the good lord willing i got 40-50 years left...i look forward to what lies ahead...

that goes in line with god giving us free will to either believe and follow him or to turn our backs on him...its our choice...he gave us freedom to make that choice so when we screw up the world we probably shouldnt blame god i also thin k that somewhat answers the question aboiut if there is a god then why does he let all these bad things happen but thats just my take from what ive studied..and i dont claim to be a biblical scholar...so if others disagree thats fine..im not challenging anyone's beliefs

take it as a compliment..do you hear any of the other 4 teams in the AL central talking about how much they hate the tigers???

colon looks like a different pitcher from past years..he was only throwing 93-94...he got most of his K's on off speed pitches..as he gets older im guessing he is starting change his approach to pitching..using 4 pitches and not just b lowing people away with a 98 mph heatet as for stjosE6..despite his errorless game this was probably hias worst game of the year...he left alot of runners on base (including a runner on 3rd with no outs who didnt score) and seemed to be pulling off the ball alot..he didnt seem to be into todays game very much...hope this isnt a sign that he is heading into a prolonged slump

because god gave us the gift of free will

something woke carlos up from his 3 years slumber today whoever or whatever it was...needs to come back to chicago on th eplane...bottle that stuff up...carlos actually l;ooked like a ballplayer that one at bat...hits behind the runner and gets rewarded with a base hit..then bowls over the catcher to score the game winning run..my questionm..where was this the last 4 years or so???

damn..another runner stranded on 3rd with less than 2 outs...this is another game we really dont deserve..of course detroit doesnt deserve it either
-
no i dont buy into the righty-righty lefty-lefty matchup at all if a pitcher is good like we have so many on this team it doesnt matter, so why bring in 5 guys from the pen when 1-2 can do the same thing. im a big time believer in the lefty-righty match ups in the late innings...i believe in the whitey herzog / tony larussa style of managing....i think it good because you get your relievers in a lot of games but they dont throw alot of innings..so they stay sharp w/o being overworked
-
rios with a single and crede with a nice hit and run...crede isa good fundemental ballplayer...nice to see

it was a high blooper..he chased it down..and then slide for it but slide like the wrong way....he took good angle and got there then slide about 3 feet to the left of tha ball..iut was wierd...its like he was in perfect position to catch it then acted like he wanted no part of it Yeah, I remember that play. Once he let it drop in, I thought "Daubach would have made that play." Let's hope our bullpen can hold this lead first pitch..base hit to cf
