carlos can sort of bunt for a hit..but he is terrible when he squares around..i was hoping in that at bat he would try and surprise dmitri and lay down a bunt for a hit...dmitri is a horrible 3rd baseman too...its his worst position of the 4 he plays and he already has an error today...but carlos plays for carlos

2nd inning..runers on 1st and 2nd , no one out..up strolls carlos lee...perfect bunt situaton...but , we all know the debacle thats waiting to happen that is the '"carlos lee bunting experience" from last year...evidently manuel remembers all to well because after asking daubach to bunt to get the runner over he doesnt ask carlos to after brian got HBP...now , does carlos , knowing from last season how horrible his bunting was work on it in the off season???...i highly doubt it because if he did he would tried to bunt on his own and show jerry he is a team player... now if youre not bunting in that situation its imparitive to try and take the ball to RF and move the runners up...does carlos do this???...nope..its not even a thought in his mind as he swings at a pitch on the outer half of the plate , a perfect pitch to drive to RF , and proceeds to ground into a rally killing 5-4-3 DP...carlos couldnt do the team thing..he had to be the hero... these are the things that drive me nuts with carlos and have me just hating this guy as a ballplayer....THESE ARE THINGS THAT ANY HAS CONTROL OVER...bunting , hitting the eopposite way....ANY HITTER CAN DO OR LEARN TO DO THESE THINGS...any other ballplayer would have been so embarrassed by his efforts last year trying to bunt he would have worked his ass off to improve in that department..but i got a feeling carlos actually thinks he is in maggs catagory as a ballplayer and that a player of his stature should not be asked to bunt this team is truggling right now...we arnt getting big hits and we astranding runners everywhere...this situation it was important to move those runners up and score firt today...another example of carlos not being able to help the team unless he is tearing the cover off the ball...isnt it joe borchard time yet??? hopefully carlos redeems himself today with as big day..but that wont change the fact that this type of play will cost the team somewhere down the road...its a great reason why the twins finished ahead of the sox the last two seasons despite the sox being the better team on paper

My scorecard needs new interetsing combinations. eric karros tried to make a 6-3-5 dp with a runner on 2nd for the scrubs...but he threw the bal laway and the scrubs lost

im no fan of manuel's but today he did made a bunch of moves and they were all the right ones in my book...he finally woke up in the dugout and started using his righty lefty advantage to force trammell to make pitching moves and he ended up with a hot hitting joe crede coming off the bench in a key spot and joe delievered...the only think i might have done different was when he used rios as a pinch hitter id have left him in the game for rowand so aaron didnt have to bat late since he is struggling...but jerry acted like a real manager today who's head was in the game and he gave the sox an opportunity to win....the team just couldnt get the key hit

stewarty pitched very well today..in that fateful 3 run inning..maggs misplayed a fly ball to RF...carlos misplayed a fly ball to LF...both of those should have went for out...then jimenez runs into jose on 1-6-3 DP attempt that got no out when it was an easy 2...stewart had to get 7 outs that innings...giving up only runs was excellent..i really like how after the DP was blown he went out and got the next two hitters without letting any more runs score...thats the sign of a pitcher that wont s*** his pants at the first sign of trouble we are playing pretty bad baseball right now...this team in the KW era seems to have a stretch of about a month to 6 weeks were they have their heads stuck up their asses....there is a difference this year though...despite the fact that we are playing like s*** , maggs frank , pauly and lee are not playing to their abilities and rowand is completely lost at the plate , we are winning..we have a 7-6 record.. in '01 we were playing poorly and started 4-17 before getting hot and finishing the season with 83 wins..i remember everyone saying if we just played 500 ball in april we could have won the division...in '02 after a hot start we had our month long slump from about mid-may to the end of june...again if we could ahve played 500 ball during that stretch we could have challenged the twinkies...if this is our "bad stretch" then what we need to do is exactly what we are doing now...play 500 or a little above baseball..we all know frank , pauly and maggs will start to hit..and when they do we will score runs in bunches...wejust need to keep getting quality starts and some timely hits from jose . crede and d'angelo until the big boys heat up....then we make our run... the fact that we are playing like s*** and still winning has my more optomistic then before the season started..even if we are beating up on the bottom feeders...in our slumps the last 2 years we couldnt even accomplish that..so this is an improvement

I dont doubt that they are there. However, independent verification is necessary. Period. Find these WMD and bring the inspectors in to verify. If that's all it takes to make skeptical states happy, what's the big deal? If they aren't planted, there's nothing to lose. hans blix wants to go back in as soon as its secure...i see no problem with that..independant inspector , lke you said ,should squelch any skeptism

kc seems to have found a couple of pitchers in hernandez and mcdougal....and that kid asencio is throwing pretty well for them too...glad i grabbed all these guys for fantasy..it takes a little sting out of their victories...and 4 fantasy teams..NO DETROIT TIGERS..lol

They had all the kids come out to protest the war. Then they had like Jimbo and the other country fans come out to support the war. Then, the media interviewed the kids protesting and Cartman and Co. didn't know who the founding fathers were, so Garrison said that they all had to write reports on 1776 and what the Founding Fathers would say about the war. So, Cartman keeps trying to do a flashback to 1776 which he does, haha. The anti and pro-war people have a giant rally where they start singing a song and they get into a giant fight where they start beating the s*** out of each other. Meanwhile, Cartman is in 1776 and he gets into the Continental Congress while they are talking about war with England and Ben Franklin says "Why don't we do this since 1/2 of you want war and 1/2 of you don't? We can found a country on being assholes who will kick ass whenever and wherever we want, but have the protests to show like we don't want it to happen, so people won't kick our ass for being insensitive pricks." So, Cartman comes back and tells the entire group that and then they all starting singing this giant song together. It was a pretty damn funny episode. By the way Baggs, if you haven't seen Bowling for Columbine, there is a VERY good interview with the creators of South Park in the movie (since they both went to Columbine and were picked on. That's why South Park is in Colorado...it was their way to make fun of their hometown and all the assholes who messed with them, haha) il be looking for the replay of that episode...i didnt know the creators went to columbine...kinda of an interesting dynamic in play there

what bothers me about CNN was back in november after being questioned by a rival network ( i cant remember if it came from MSNBC or foxnews) about being a conflict of interest and CNN being soft on iraq the head of foriegn affairs at CNN said words to the effect of : we would rather shut down our baghdad office and leave then to not be able to report freely what goes on there not an exact quote but it captures the jist of what the man said...was it worth it to CNN to compromise their principles , to endanger the lives of others just to have an "in" over in iraq.. there is also a story going around that says that a CNN reporter was told by saddam's son qusay that they were going to kill some diplomats as soon as they returned to baghdad...nothing was reported and 2 of the men that the CNN reporter knew about were executed...this was on foxnews earlier today i think this could really hurt CNN in the ratings alot more then if they just closed down their baghdad office and missed out on a few "tainted" stories
