8/3 Wsox vs Royals: Richard vs Grienke 1:10
this is the 4th or 5th time in a row, where our pitchers crap the bed when the temperature goes above 98-99'F

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) Acquire another starter by trading Floyd/Danks or Buehrle and Fields? That really wouldn't make much of any sense from a long-term payroll flexibility standpoint, and we'd still have a huge hole in our rotation, bullpen, speed and defense. And I think Josh Fields is quickly losing some of the glow....I wish we could have traded Thornton a month or so ago and Josh Fields in the off-season for more pitching depth, even though we won't keep Crede IMO. I'm trying to figure out why Fields is riding pine and Uribe is at 3rd, when Fields was "untouchable, and would compromise our future" on July 31st hilarious

we throw fastballs up in the zone, and the royals obliterate them greinke throws fastballs up in the zone, and we pop out the difference right now in these two lineups is hilarious, they're the friggin ROYALS

8/3 Wsox vs Royals: Richard vs Grienke 1:10
sad thing about this is even if the score was still 0-0, i doubt we score more than 3-4 runs total today greinke is just pitching great, we don't have anyone in our pen who can come in and just take over for the next 5-6 innings so we're pretty much screwed

5-0 LOL Hey guys, I think I was over-confident a few days ago when I said we should win this division Detroit could easily pass us in the standings in about 2-3 weeks, no doubt. Not with this starting rotation or bullpen.

Greinke gonna lock this one down guys, Clayton can't even get a swing and miss, the hits are gonna pile up today.

Similar to Buehrle yesterday, 1st inning Mark was able to keep his pitches down, 2nd and beyond was batting practice Oh, Clayton Richard throws a ball away on an easy pitch to home to tag out a steal F***ing joke of a pitcher.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Ozzie obviously made a bad decision playing Konerko, but if you actually think Ozzie is an idiot, than your the idiot. The reason this team is not up by 5 or 6 games is the pitching, not Ozzie. You're an idiot if you think he ISN'T one. I can do that too, see? jesus christ.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) 5-35 in his career against Greinke now. Ozzie is an idiot, it's just that simple. He's managed this team about as bad as anyone could in a pennant race. I could name about 5 or 6 things he's done, as i'm sure anyone else on this board could as well, that were terrible decisions

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 09:04 AM) Hopefully Clayton gets both good defense and good luck this time out. He has pitched a lot better than the stats say. I'd like to see him get his first win and then help us in the pen from here on out. If he does well today, management will really shorten the leash on Contreras's 3-inning beatings. he's shown to be a 2-time through the lineup pitcher, 3rd time he gets lit up, just like what happened to danks last year hopefully ozzie pulls him before that happens, let the kid leave with some confidence

5-1! I still stand by my statement about Slowey's control. Cleveland is just hitting the ball where it's pitched, whereas our hitters seemed absolutely clueless how to connect on his slider Go triiiiiiiiiiiiiibe (Drum Drum Drum Drum)

I might've spoke too soon! 5-1 CLE after the top of the 5th. Tribe hitters have a nice approach to Slowey, they are hitting everything to right field, even the righties

watching the twins game slowey is GOOD. my god. his control is f***ing amazing, pin-point stuff. we have nobody on our staff as good as this guy right now.

i'm not ready to throw in the white flag yet, or proclaim the twins better than the sox, but these next 19 games will be important and will probably decide our fate, it's easy to be pessimistic after a loss like today but you have to remember our team is not playing at 100% right now, with our starting rotation running 4/5 of what we had when the season started, Crede and Linebrink are also both on the disabled list and Konerko is playing like a Rookie A-ball player, probably due to lingering injury(injuries?) we play a lot of home games coming up, with a few road games in between. i'd like to see us go 13-6 over that span or 12-7 (or hell, 14-5 would be amazing). we've played awesome at home this year, one of the top 5 teams at home in all of baseball, and the twins are terrible on the road just like pretty much every other team

QUOTE (JFields27 @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 11:43 AM) So the Lineup is .. OC Griff Quentin Dye Thome Konerko Ramirez Hall Uribe ????? I filled out the bottom 3, but that can obviously be different. god no, ozzie leave this sh** like it was yesterday, my god. konerko does NOT need to be playing right now when we're only 0.5 f***ing games up! unreal
