  1. holy crap Ed says it was a good swing. Is this true?
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:45 PM) And I know his AOL IM screen name! Rocco'sModernCF
  3. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) It's conjecture. Sitting around watching TV instead of reviewing pitchers; all of the buzz about his attitude from Ozzie; the buzz about Brandon that he was "uncoachable"; the fact that he hasn't changed in a year. It's clearly mental as well as physical. We don't know for a fact that that was him. As far as Brandon, I don't think he felt he got enough attention from the coaching staff. I'll say nothing of him this year, except that his approach looks the same. I'll call a double for him this inning though.
  4. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) You mean he might just have an attitude problem and be uncoachable (like his dear friend) and not prepare well enough? Oh! PS: there are lots of guys who can hit in the minors and then blow in the major leagues. He's one of them. I'm still waiting to hear where he's unwilling to be helped.
  5. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:36 PM) He should be getting ABs in AAA. What I was saying -- and I think it was clear -- is that he has never made adjustments. Always has had the same crap approach and crap swing. Probably always will. Your last sentence is why people get on you. What says that he'll never fix it?
  6. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) What would that get us? Not much. Err....center was the wrong word, but he still has value.
  7. The frustrating thing about Brian is that it sure seems like his swing can be fixed. He's hit at every level before, and he's young enough. If it's an attitude problem, then it's his problem, but what are the coaches working with him on?
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) Not a chance in hell it happens this year. Ozzie loves KW. I shudder to think about what our outfield will look like next year. I'd like to see us center a package around McCulloch.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) Exactly, and has everything to do with starting his approach too soon. That much movement before the pitch, in addition to limited playing time, makes timing/vision impossible. His stance reminds me somewhat of ARow but I always thought that Aaron did a better job of keeping his head down and on the ball when he was hitting well. I'd like to see a fundamental change to his stance, cause I have no idea how he can generate any power. That being said, I still love the golden locks.
  10. I'd like to see a real CF solution brought in this year.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) I think his swing just sucks. I don't think he sees what he's swinging at.
  12. Nice job Darin. I still want a different CF.
  13. I love BA as much as the next guy, probably more, but he's hurting the team and the team is hurting him right now. He needs some AAA time to figure stuff out.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:14 PM) Whomever the instructor or group of instructors that is responsible for the Joe Borchard, Brian Anderson, Joe Crede when he came up long looping swing needs to be identified, and chased out of the system. Its like an assembly line of crappy long looping swings. And it's been evident in any hitter that we've brought up.
  15. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) What the hell is Anderson's approach? I don't think he has one.
  16. BRIAN, BE WORTH A s***
  17. Be a hero, Joe. Use your inner Crede.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:02 PM) Josh is pretty small, right? MinorLeagueBaseball had him listed at 6"1, but I didn't buy that. Anyways -- have the Sox ever thought about moving him to second? His arm strength might be wasted there, but it'd put less pressure on the Sox to resign Iguchi. And his bat could make him one of the better 2nd-baggers in all of baseball. Or is that impractacle? I've thought about it. He has athleticism, but I have no idea if he could.
  19. Alright, so now did Anderson do good?
  20. Make it hurt Brian. Don't look like reconsituted fish poo at the plate, either, Brian.
  21. Wasn't Gload starting before he got hurt?
  22. I fully expect Brian to get sent down when Pods gets back.
  23. Farmer is saying Anderson was way too shallow....
