    BMac?
  2. Some players are never the same once they get hurt past the age of thirty. Believe it or not, Erstad may never get 200 hits in a year again.

    Look at Egbert's numbers this year and try not to get encouraged.... 2-1, 1.80 25 IP, 13 H, 5 R, 0 HR, 4 BB, 26 K
  4. Chris Young is doing as badly as Erstad this year, and he plays in the NL West, in Arizona. BTW, Anderson is likely to start tonight.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) I'm sorry, but whether you like Pods or not (and I'm well documented to the fact that I'm not one of his biggest fans) his signing was not a bad one given the market conditions over the off-season. Pods contract was a value compared to what guys like Pierre & Matthews Jr. got. Plus Pods, while not the most gifted offensive player tends to do a good job with his approach at the plate for a leadoff hitter (taking pitches) and really was playing well before getting hurt (even his defense, while still horrid, was a lot better than last season). And as far as Erstad goes, yet another good game for the outfielder as he seems to finally be getting a bit of his stroke bad (which is resulting in a few more line drives, although he's still been way too pull happy). I don't have a problem with him when he drops the pulling bulls***.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) Damn. I'm going to get drunk if I need to drink 6 shots. Ah well it's worth it. Well, it's not like it's a real common occurance.
  7. Egbert apparently human Birmingham Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Egbert 7.0 3 2 2 1 7 0 1.80
  8. You take one drink for a groundout to first, two for a groundout to second, three for a groundout to pitcher, four for one to short, five to third, six for anything out of the infield.
  9. You know, Crede could just go deep here and simplify things a bit.
  10. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) how is he getting his SOs then? 18IP 19SO 3BB Dunno. The only two pitches I know he throws for sure are a 90 mph fastball and a sinker.
  11. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:38 PM) heads what does he throw? ty in advance for any info. A metric f***-ton of grounders.
  12. Jack Egbert 6 IP, H, 0 BB, 6 K

    Jack Egbert is good.
  14. Jack Egbert so far this year: 23 IP 11 H 3 BB 24 K
  15. On a brighter note, so far for Birmingham: Jack Egbert 5 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) I really wish we had one stuck thread for it, just to see how big it would get. Heads? : And it was so.
  17. Let's use this thread for discussion of everyone's two favorite players.
  18. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:41 PM) I have enough trouble trying to find CSN+ is. It's going to be hell tommorrow figuring out where the hell CSN++ is. It's on the CSNChi website.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) Every manager in baseball, faced with suddenly-healthy-Erstad versus Brian-Anderson-coming-off-2006 would choose Erstad at this point. The approach is better, the attitude is better and so's the presence. Anderson belongs in the minors right now. Maybe forever. The thing is Erstad isn't very good, and he certainly shouldn't be hitting leadoff. The thing is, a great number of his hits aren't with any sort of authority. From what I've seen, he's trying to pull everything, so pitchers are going away on him, but he isn't staying back. He needs to go to the right side an awful lot more to be effective. It's pretty similar to Pods.
  20. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) Wow, Gary Glover is in for TB. Grilli yesterday. How many Sox relievers are out there? Glover Grilli Rauch Majewski Ring Eyre Howry Hernandez Guerrier ...i know im missing a ton Deal Hotts.
  21. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:04 PM) How is Buehrle looking tonight? Ed and Chris are saying awesome.
