  1. The WS notes that their media director had sent out say FB, slider, change.
  2. It's almost time to stop worrying about the Tigers, and I think that has helped our play. We keep winning series and we're in the playoffs either way. I don't care HOW we get there, as long as we do.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) I'll say this -- if Marmol's in our minor league system he's immediately the best arm. Whether he surrenders 4ER or 20 this afternoon. Sure as hell would take him over Lance Broadway. How many White Sox pitching debuts within the last 12 years end on a 6IP, 1ER, 7K performance? Kip Wells went 5.1 IP with 1 ER, 2 BB and 4 K.
  4. Iowa has always outsold ISU in both sports. Fact is there were numerous times in previous years when it seemed like half the student section never showed up. I was at ISU @ Iowa two years ago, where 1/3 of the Hawk's Nest was filled. This past year is the mystifiing part, where Iowa averaged 111 more fans a game. Ask coaches in the country where they'd rather not play between the two schools. Football teams will say Kinnick and basketball teams will say Hilton, and it's not even close. However, we both know attendance doesn't win conference championships. Superior facilities aid in recruiting. ISU wants to have the best facilities in the state.
  5. I love listening to DJ....
  6. She certainly looks excited.
  7. QUOTE(BabyJesus69 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) lol, you can't even fill jack trice now, what's the need for some kind of expansion? iirc, isu offered discount tickets for the colorado game last year (with the b12 north title on the line) and still couldn't sell the place out. every 2 years, that place would be full when nebraska and iowa brings its fanbases. other than to appease those 2 fanbases, that expansion is pointless. also, iirc isu doesn't exactly fill hilton on a regular basis. There's been two years since 1998 when attendace at ISU, per game, has not increased. I think they plan on continuing the upward trend. http://www.kenn.com/sports/football/ncaa/ An Iowa fan also has no room to talk on attendance at basketball games. It took a Big 10 tournament championship team to edge an Iowa State team that did not qualify for a postseason tourney in attendance this year. Part of selling tickets is making the stadium more desirable to come to. Once the place looks a little less like a glorified Texas high school stadium and more like a college atmosphere, more people will show. This year will probably be tough on the football team, but Pollard evidently thinks we'll get to the place where we'll sell out a horseshoed Jack Trice in 5 years. They are adding suites and concourse to Hilton, I think there will actually be seats removed...
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) ^^^^. Although he did jump on the Pods is overrated bandwagon before Capn12 ya know. He's writing a book about how good teams become great. Yup, he would know. This guy is my arch nemesis. I'm also sure everyone agrees with Mr. Perry that Jeter is the league MVP and Mussina is the Cy Young winner.
  9. Because it's Deputy Douche, aka, Dayn Perry. I hate him more than I ever have Mariotti.
  10. Yes, ISU is now catching up to the Big 8 in facilities.
  11. The university released their renderings for the renovations of both Jack Trice and Hilton Coliseum... JT: current look: new: Hilton: current:
  12. Anyone feeling better about the pen all of a sudden? When Cliff gets back.... Jenks, Cotts, McCarthy, Riske, Thornton, Politte I'm fine with Cliff being the last arm in the pen. Oh YES, the old Schaller guy on CSN.
  13. David started out 3-0 on Dunn, throwing a bunch of strikes since, used a nice changeup for his second K. Wow, BA makes it look so easy.
  14. Useless stat....Riske takes 20 seconds between pitches.
  15. Alex Cintron sure loves to swing. Hmm...when's the last time a Sox piayer sported number 54? Hahah....way to start out Riske! K
  16. Peanut Butter Riske time soon enough.
  17. All 10 Sox batters with a hit.
  18. Oh yes, it's Ross Gload time.
  19. Dribbler thru the left side.
  20. This is quite possibly the first comparison I have ever heard of Mark Buehrle and Catfish Hunter....
  21. Is it just the camera angle or are there a lot of low strikes tonight?
  22. Widger waiting to double.... Well, either way, my mind saaw Widge reaching second.
