I don't even agree with that, even with a bad pen, go to it when your starter is gassed, especially when you're planning on that pitcher in the future. I'd much rather have had Gomez blow that at the start of the inning than at the end. Hamilton's a pipe dream, he won't be up til 2019. I'm okay with that for a number of reasons, the fact that we won't use him the right way in Chicago among them.

It'd have been a perfect situation to see what Burr has; I assume he's at Navy Pier tonight, as we only request he pitch once a week

I guess I don't even care, doesn't change how Lucas pitched tonight against the best team in baseball. He was so beyond where he should have been out there, I'm not holding that walk against him.

There's like double digit runs I don't even credit to Lucas this year because it's clear he never should have been sent out. Anyways, no matter what happens the rest of this game, its been another great start for him

I still expect him to have the random clunker, and I still think he's 2018 Gavin Floyd, but I think he can be more consistent and can be part of a playoff rotation, albeit behind guys like Rodon, Kopech and Cease.

This is the one benefit of this season - it seems like it gave Lucas time to work through his shit. That is why we kept throwing him out there. Because right now, he totally looks competent.
