QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) Why are you down on Davidson? Strikeouts? Defense? I've noticed almost everyone is down on Viciedo as well...although I honestly have no idea who's going to be considered the better player 3-5 years from now, Avisail Garcia or Dayan Viciedo. Seems he's getting the benefit of the doubt, because everyone's so familiar with Viciedo already...although there's not a huge age difference really. I'm not down on him, but safe money is him ending closer to a 4 on this scale than a 5.

Big 12 Tournament.
Oklahoma doesn't look too interested in playing tonight, or the next few days for that matter.

Big 12 Tournament.
Fantastic game between Iowa State and Kansas State. Monte Morris is a stud in waiting, and it was probably good that Kane fouled out. ISU-Kansas should be good as always tomorrow night.

Big 12 Tournament.
Yeah, I imagine that crowd of 7 is in. WV can make things relatively interesting if they win a couple. Today should be a great slate.

Okie State tears through Texas Tech. The game with Kansas tomorrow afternoon should be decent.

Big 12 Tournament.
Sagarin odds to win the tournament, and I have no clue how. (1) Kansas 31.9% (4) ISU 17.3% (8) OSU 14.6% (2) Oklahoma 11.9% (7) Baylor 9.2% (3) Texas 5.7% (6) WVU 5.2% (5) KSU 3.9% And Embiid is now questionable for the tournament.

Iowa's in 7-10 territory right now, IMO

It has been kind of a s***ty year as far as top level play. Gonna be disappointed if the NCAA isn't full of upsets.

Big 12 Tournament.
Adam Woodbury sucks. It'd be nice if both schools didn't let the top talent leave the state. Marcus Paige, Harrison Barnes and the like. But back to the Big 12 tournament....I would imagine we'll see a Kansas/OU finals.

Big 12 Tournament.
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 10:10 PM) Iowa fans are blaming all the close losses the last two years, and the inability to finish out games about 90% on McCaffrey. Fair or not. I think part of it's talent, obviously. And they have managed to win 3-4 road games in the Big 10 this year, which they failed to do last year (at Illinois, at NW, at Ohio State, at Penn State). I'd never let Aaron White off the court if I was Fran.

There's absolutely no reason that both teams can't be consistent tourney teams. Both have excellent coaches.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) Hampton. Thirteen years ago, but okay. I guess Iowa's never been upset by a team ten seeds or more lower than them.

Big 12 Tournament.
I have no clue what's going to happen here. Pretty sure Kansas will win it, but beyond that, the only thing I know is that TCU will lose next Thursday. Should be some fantastic basketball.

Spring Training 2014
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) From FanGraphs chat today: Comment From Concerned White Sox Fan What do you expect from Jose Abreu? 12:21 Dave Cameron: Everything I’ve heard so far has been positive. I’d say maybe top 10-20 hitter in MLB. That's high praise coming from him. He's cynical about everything. Uh......a top 10-20 hitter in MLB? If that ends up being true, then Rick Hahn won the offseason.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 28, 2014 -> 08:32 PM) I've followed CBB less this year than I have in at least 10 years. That probably guarantees I finally win a bracket pool. Well, among the most followed conferences here, the B1G tourney should be damn good. On a personal note, the Big 12 tournament should also be the same, aside from the TCU game.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 28, 2014 -> 07:59 PM) This will be the first time since my Junior year of High School(so 10 years ago) that I wont be able to watch every minute of Thursday's and Friday's games. Just join the Iowa State bandwagon. We have Hoiberg.

Batting 2nd
QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 07:56 PM) The guy has limited power. He's a gap power, 20 homer guy. I'd much rather we have a line drive hitter who makes consistent contact and sprays doubles all over the field in the 2 hole, and leave Abreu for 3rd. He's also 22 and possibly not done improving.

Opening Day Starter
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 22, 2014 -> 09:56 PM) Why does it matter if we the fans isolate that moment as the reason for missing out on the playoffs? The fact would be that we missed out on the playoffs by one game and that any one of the stupid decisions we made along the way could have been the difference. I'm actually shocked that this many people are against optimizing our chances of winning. And before anyone else says "it's just one game, who cares", with the addition of the second wild card, one game is going to make or break a lot more seasons going forward. I'm sure Texas Ranger fans have a long list of items that could have made the difference for them last year. It's 10% of our starting lineup for one game. This is absolutely not anything to get worked up about.

Opening Day Starter
I don't think anyone advocating starting PK on Opening Day is advocating increased playing time along with it....(maybe greg).....it's letting a dude that helped bring us our first World Series since 1917 and a dude that's been here since 1999 - one of the very best White Sox in team history, start his final Opening Day. I understand that some people would like to get rid of all sentiment sometimes, but dear Lord, even if he doesn't want to do it, he should be trotting out there for one last Opening Day.

Kansas is going to win the Big 12. TCU is going to get last. No clue how the rest of it finishes. 2. Texas 9-5 2. Iowa State 9-5 2. Oklahoma 9-5 5. Kansas State 8-6 6. West Virginia 7-7 7. Baylor 6-8 8. Oklahoma State 5-9 8. Texas Tech 5-9 I don't know if it's a better league than the B1G - the B1G probably a touch better at the top - but this season has been very entertaining.

Opening Day Starter
If we get to a point where one game makes a difference in the season and it's because PK started Opening Day - I don't think anyone will look back at the end of the season and say "if only we hadn't started Paulie"
