La Pantera Art!
Also a thin stroke or unblured slight drop shadow in black around all the white lettering would probably unify everything and make it more legible.

La Pantera Art!
I’d put some Sox branding on it... send it to Brooks Boyer, and ask him if Jerry wants to buy it from you. ? Seriously.

La Pantera Art!
I’d buy two. Awesome. Only suggestion would be to somehow bring in the Sox logo.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
At least we selected James McCann in the 31st round! Too bad we didn’t take Charlie Blackmon or Garett Cole at the 8 slot instead of Beckham. ?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
He’ll just dump it into the hole in the outfield then. His bat handling skills are so elite he trains at Stonehenge during the off-season.

Sox Insider
Kevin, hi! and - uh... I’m confused. Your “site” is nothing but a logo, a grey brick wall image, and a button link to a “homepage” which goes to the same place.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
He’s just using the example of Schwarber to demonstrate that it’s actually pretty rare to draft contributing talent even in the first round as a sure thing... pointing out that he was ranked to go much later, in the late teens. Past some 1-1 and 1-2 guys in a lot of years... and even including them in others, the MLB draft is an educated crap shoot.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
A ~.400 career obp is a realistic CEILING. No one is saying that’s a guarantee or the most likely outcome like you’re seeking to assert.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
Look at the career of Luke Appling. That’s best cast for Madrigal. He hit only 45 Home runs in what... 20 years? He also hit over .300 and had a career obp of .399.

Come on now, play nice fan with good taste in White Sox player lore.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
~ denotes “about” in the context of the OBP. Could mean .350. Could mean .365. Could mean .400. Doesn't mean =

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
Yea he’s not going to have numbers that low on either advanced stat line. He’s a high contact hitter and is going to have a high BABIP - take Billy Hamilton for example... very high BABIP but he doesn’t hit the ball in play much. Madrigal will hit the ball in play 9 out of 10 times... 3 of those 9 will find a hole and he’ll walk the other time. Carrer .300+ BABIP, .300+ ave, and ~.400 obp.

“But the exit velocity of madrigals three hits today have been really slow, he’s not going to be a good hitter.” ”He can’t keep that type of luck up.” ”what a wasted pick.”

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
BABIP numbers for a hitter with his profile are not equal to those who hit for less contact. There are statistics that demonstrate his batting average should closely mirror his BABIP.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
While I don’t agree with everything written here, a lot of it is valuable to consider and all of it is a good read... https://data.prospectslive.com/index.php/2019/07/20/nick-madrigal-and-baseball-preconceptions/ Madrigal, while still not striking out, did start the year a little slow at A+ Winston-Salem this season. As I note above, a lot of that had to do with an unlucky BABIP. Nonetheless, White Sox director of scouting Nick Hostetler commented publicly on Madrigal’s early plate approach: I was surprised to see Hostetler talking publicly about Madrigal’s failings like that. It stood out to me because I can’t recall many front office player development representatives discuss failings specific to a player’s profile like this. I think Hostetler put this out there because he wasn’t concerned that Madrigal would take it as a negative. Rather, he figured Madrigal would use this as a positive to make changes. Of course, as soon as Hostetler put this interview out there, Madrigal responded by hitting for more power and pulling the ball more. He was then promoted to AA Birmingham shortly thereafter, where he’s been on a heater ever since his promotion. Madrigal has been told his whole career that he’s too small to be much more than a grinder. And his whole career, he’s responded by exceeding expectations. He was the best hitter in college baseball in 2018. He’s been the 2nd best hitter for AA Birmingham behind top prospect Luis Robert this season. He’s been asked to make changes by the White Sox, and he’s made them. He has the 6th tool needed to become a successful baseball player at the Major League level. The article also includes references to Boggs and quotes from Omar Vizquel. Again, worth the read.

8/1 Sox vs Royals GT
Let’s begin this conversation after he’s had 500 at bats, revisit the conversation after 1,000 at bats, and then draw some conclusions after he’s had 1,500 at bats. Can’t have a meaningful discussion after his first two games. I will say this... in 2018, he hit under .200 in rookie ball for his debut. In 2019 he had 1 hit in his first 14 plate appearances at high A. That same year he had 2 hits in his first 18 AAA trips to the plate. His history shows him to be a competitive, hard nosed, don’t give up, driven type of player with an ability to provide value to his teams in many areas. My guess is still that when the time comes to discuss his first full season in the show, we’ll be happy he’s growing into a long term role on the south side of Chicago.
