  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 10:30 PM) Many more if you want to go by rumors and speculation. Who else has been speculated? Just bored and curious.

  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 09:59 PM) He's now the 3rd White Sox player who has been suspended for PEDs. 3rd active player... They've had others too. Ozuna Manny Even Rowand had some speculation

QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) Congratulations. You made my heart jump. Not good for a 64 year old ticker. Wasn't my intention Just wanted to let people know I'm a f***ing retard.

    Dude

SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! Just do it... Damn it!
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 06:31 PM) Hector Noesi (Sox): 4.85 FIP John Danks: 4.76 FIP Not sure I get why you're so high on Noesi, but hate Danks with a vengeance. Personally I like Noesi above Danks based on the strides I saw him make last year. Do believe Danks can still improve.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 09:08 PM) ... Ynoa. I was so amped to see we got him in the deal. +1
  8. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 08:49 PM) Granted Gillaspie is ok at 3rd and Ok with the bat.............but geez if I was on a good team, would i really want a team mate with a personality of that that has the equivalency of a bowl of oatmeal?. Heck no. Show some friggin enthusiasm for others on your team. Leave the friggin "puss-face" at home and be a team member will ya? Lets face it, do either you or I like to be around someone with an attitude that sucks and never seems happy about anything? Then how much more does that go into effect when you have teammates that you play, gel with, and travel with for 6 months at a time and are around each other all of the time? If anything I would like to see him go if only for the sake of his Rosey O Donnell attitude to go bye bye. My take on his attitude is that he's just very cerebral, competitive, young, and hard on himself.
  9. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 03:18 PM) melky is said to have had a 4-year offer. but he decided he preferred #chisox. 4-yr team is unknown. https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/544253839902535680 Astros
  10. Max Scherzer. Edit: 8 / 200MM would only take payroll to 140MM this year.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 06:00 PM) Man the last few pages of this thread have been terrible. Go cry somewhere else. The White Sox upgraded in a big way. I'm going to choose to be excited about that. It happens with EVERY signing or trade. Go look back at the Abreu thread and there's complaints there about the money / his "ability to hit the inside fastball"... Meh... If they signed Scherzer - there would be complaints.
  12. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 03:59 PM) I like a good deep dish on a rare occasion but as a ex-new yorker the pizza there is unreal. Literally not a bad slice in the city. One of things I miss the most out here in Seattle is good pizza. Gramauldis and believe it or not Famous Familias are my favorite spots in NY.
  13. This my pie place is actually really good. Like it more than the Lou M's I tried back in 2011. Edit: there's no way I could eat deep dish more than once every couple or months. I feel like a gluttony fat man.
  14. I'm in Chicago b****es! Ok, not b****es... that's said jokingly. All playing aside its nice to be driving around town scouting out a pizza joint. I settled on My Pie. Went to grandstand and had a funny conversation with an employee there. He was stoked about the sox and even mentioned I was very, very confused.
  15. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 01:38 AM) I want Viciedo gone just like you, but I don't think Melky is worth $45M and now the team is on the hook for an extra $14M a year. What if this season is a disaster? If the team was already strapped for cash, how are the going to make a competitor offer for Shark (if they feel he's worthy) during next offseason? I know the is in win now mode but they have to continue to think about the future. When this signing was announced, I had flashbacks to the 2011 season. Psychology studies show that people reference the present by means of remembrance of the past... however, that logic is flawed. Just as past performance does not indicate future results - you can't keep letting 2011 bite you. The team being strapped for cash was just a media ploy, dude. They're not flipping strapped for cash. Signing a player who will give the team likely a +4 WAR bump ( -0.7 Viciedo + 3.x Cabera = 4+ ) will not prevent them from making signings necessary in a year. If this season is a disaster... I will eat some poop and film it for you. Oh... also... we didn't give up a SINGLE ONE of our top prospects and still made MAJOR additions in: - Starting Rotation - Left Field - DH - Closer - LHP Bullpen So... um... I'm confused - what's your issue, again?
  16. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 01:19 AM) Very disappointed. Joshua is crying... for some odd reason.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 01:20 AM) Duke - $5 million Samardzija - $10 million Robertson - $11.5 million Cabrera - $14.5 million LaRoche $12.5 million $53.5 million. We had $48.5 million committed at the start of the off-season. Add all of this on and we'll be at $100 million. This isn't all that surprising, since a lot of teams are over the $100 million mark. I think we still have room for some improvement. A lot of people here were swearing up and down that the payroll would max out at 80 - 85MM
  18. Also... time for the folks who said we'd only have 20 - 30 M in spending money to eat up... we're over 50 now in my estimate. Had us pegged for 45... so even this offseason has surpassed my lofty optimistic pleas.
  19. Absolutely.... I do think that they had their eye on Miller as a primary target but put him lower on their priority list once there was so much interest apparent. As in, 22 freaking teams interest. Jesus. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I feel like I did during the 2004 offseason. The Baseball Gods are talking to me. Music, baby... music.
  20. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 12:58 AM) Wowza! I didn't see this one coming. Nice work Hahn. Best offseason ever!!! Nice signature. Mine too has also already come to fruition.
  21. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 12:55 AM) I would assume the team is about done making moves BUT I would not be surprised to see a push for Jason Castro. Wouldn't mind Castro as I think he has a chance to be something special but really... Flowers is fine by me considering the moves that have been made to bring in balance from the left side. We've got enough offense and Flowers earned another year in my book.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 12:51 AM) Actively researching this now. Last I heard they weren't all that close but maybe now they will take less. corrected, i do believe
  23. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 12:35 AM) you have a long way to catch up.... sonny. there's so much error in this statement - anyone who's been around here for a while will tell you... I used to be the drunk village idiot. now my drinking shoes have been hung up and i'm just the village idiot.
  24. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 13, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) never.... i am too greedy. You must be drunk.
