  1. Colson has been instructed to always get his “A” swing off and your recommendation is the solution… but ONLY during situational spots that have been weighing us down offensively. RISP with less than two outs. We need the entire team to really focus on situational swings from here on out for that scenario. Games in August and September leading into the playoffs really mean a ton for our Sox. If they start to shine in a stat that has been a black eye so far, we’ll be much more likely to squeak out more close games. It also will be good practice for post season play and help them all take the next step up maturity wise. Hope we see Colson moved down to the 5 hole while he works on this because his strikeouts really have been too much of a boon at the cleanup spot. Ok, that’s enough redundant trade deadline wasting time talk from me.
  2. What the f*** is this… Arsenal Talk? 😆
  3. I thought teams acquiring players in trade that are lost to FA no longer get compensation
  4. Because we are getting another starter by taking on salary in addition to getting another starter with more prospect capital. If we go the Peralta route I’d venture to guess that’s our prospect capital buy in the SP market.
  5. Whoa Nelly. My prediction is he’s going to the Diamondbacks.
  6. Pretty sure one of those injuries was due to a fluke comebacker which obviously means it wasn’t anything mechanical. And I’m not aware of him leaving any starts. Last I heard he went 6 vs KC giving up only 1 ER.
  7. On Cole Prosek from James Fegan: “To the extent that any player has an idea of what to expect in the draft, Mississippi high schooler Cole Prosek wasn't expecting to join the White Sox. The 19-year-old infielder had a meeting with Sox brass at the MLB Combine in Arizona that he thought went well, but before he became the 41st overall pick, Prosek felt the Padres, Rockies and Brewers were showing the most interest. Then the White Sox pulled a move that rendered it all moot. "After the ninth pick, they called my agent and offered me the amount of money," said Prosek, who signed for $3.25 million. "Then my agent upped my number for every other pick, from 40 up to 20. He upped my number, nobody wanted to pay over it. So, fell down to the White Sox, and here I am, which I'm very glad to be here in this organization. So, I'd say it was a little surprise."
  8. KEEP IT ROLLIN BOYS — START THIS ROAD TRP AND SERIES OFF WITH A BIG WIN. So happy we should be rolling out the A team lineup.
  9. That makes sense. Also makes sense to me if the ask on our end included Torrens.
  10. Wolkow, Boston, and more… For Peralta on a rental? That can’t be right.
  11. Guess Twins got word today that Sands from their pen, who they counted on returning, needs surgery and will be out. Makes sense why they added a couple hours after that was made public.
  12. Would have been a nice addition, looking forward to seeing what the price was. Edit: Sweet. That return all but confirms to me that we’ll be wheeling and dealing!
  13. Sure, if they gave up someone like Braden, or Schultz, or Hagen Smith, or Bonemer with additional prospects. 😆 I really don’t think he’s going anywhere unless it’s for a haul.
  14. Oh I’m most certain they have and if I recall, they also had him out of the cleanup slot today, yea?
  15. Yea, that would be completely dumb.
  16. Highly HIGHLY doubt they are thinking of this anymore after how horrible Shane has looked in his rehab starts. Have you watched him pitch at all over the last three weeks? It has been UGLY.
  17. Yea… only see it if you could bring in someone like Miller… which I think is a long shot.
  18. All year he has struggled with RISP which fits his three true outcome profile. Additionally he has been in a slump over a 30 game period now whereas he’s striking out at a 30% clip and is only hitting a bomb at about a 1 in 30 ab pace. That isn’t getting it done from the cleanup spot. So, while I’m still a huge believer in this kid, I do think it might be a good time to move him down to 5th, 6th, or 7th in the lineup… and move someone else into the cleanup spot who can help us improve our team LOB numbers. We finally saw it today with Grich in the 4 hole. What say ya‘ll?
  19. Would have to assume so. Early in the game he had also worked a 3 - 0 count, was given the green light, and promptly grounded out to first.
  20. Obviously he is and I can’t believe this is even a serious questions… are we COMPLETELY forgetting that he wasn’t sent from the show back to our Arizona facility in his rookie season to overhaul his work at the plate? He’s just an Adam Dunn like hitter with defensive value - so people will always hate on the kid. If he would grow into bringing more situational hitting value ( which I believe he will in time ) then look out!
  21. I’m caught up to the 10th with NY now up 1 - 0. After they scored it boils my blood hearing chants of “Let’s go Yankees” from the stands in OUR park. Disgusting. Happy we shut those fuckers up and made that poor little kid have his dreams crushed two games in a row.
