  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) For me, being a White sox fan is a lifetime commitment. That’s through both the good and the bad. Honestly, I’ve already made myself a promise that if Beckham ever wins the White Sox a championship, I’d name a kid after him. It kills me to see the team struggling like this. Why wait, I am naming my son Gordon! Oh, that was my grandfather's name
  3. It was Paulie! (It was on the Scoreboard yesterday.)
  4. I agree. but, wear the black until the streak ends. Hope you didn't kill it!
  5. Well, thank you. I guess. Because no one over analyzes here. Anyway, I hope Joe continues. 260/23/80 and good defense would be great. Josh will be here soon enough and is good insurance against injuries to Thome or Joe.
  6. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) Crede > Your Life. Exactly the kind of post they were trying to ask about in the why are you here post. There is no point to it. Someone is honest and puts in their thoughts, and you come up with -- that? Nice Post. Use a complete sentence at least. You obviously love Crede. Well, so do I. I am just a little more pragmatic than you. My life, hmmm, the same as everyone's life. In your terms. My life = everyone elses.
  7. I love Joe Crede and i am ecstatic at the beginning of the season. I was at the game today and when Joe hit the slam, it was awesome. My (Cubs fan) wife even text me "Joe F@#$ing Crede!" But, wherever your stance is, be happy with defense (it will come.) I wanted Crede gone and Fields up. It made logical sense. Have I changed my stance? No. It made sense at the time. Now, we are with Joe for the year unless god forbid we tank. And I can't think there is anyone here who wants that. Let the argument die. As far as Juan and Alexei/Richar, same argument, same post. In fact, unhappy with the roster decisions at the end of ST, I said, our infield D looks awesome. Go Sox! Whoever they may be. BTW Being at the game, fans love Consequito and Swish
  8. I think we all fail to understand that none of the CF, 3b and 2b questions really matter if Jose, Gavin and Danks are at least .500. I wish Uribe were gone, but, he is a good upgrade at 2b when compared to the league. Don't give me the Iguchi average 2b argument. That is gone and doesn't matter anymore. The point is, we have have a better Offense than 2005, D actually looks good as of today (Uribe, Anderson, Cabrera, Crede), but our SP is a huge ?????????. The rest just does not matter. I can't wait for Monday.http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/bringit.gif
  9. The Sox miss the wild card by one game as Mullet night turns into Mullet Demolition Night and over 250 Mullet coifed Sox fans run onto the field with hair blazing while "Shout at the Devil" blares from the PA system causing the Sox to forfeit the second game of a KC double header make-up game. Phillip Seymour Hoffman plays Hawk in the movie.
  10. I with you wholeheartedly and think they could wait; he might even be good enough for the big team. Just wondering if they could get anything.
  11. WSCR 670 reporting Reds and Padres interested in BA. What could they give us for him?
  12. Well, I was excited about our bullpen upgrade this morning. But, alas, that didn't go through. Also, I am not sure about your optimism on the defense. Horrendous? I don't think it's that bad, but a lot could go wrong. I assume the increased offense should offset the D. Things to do to give a little credence to your optimism: 1) Finish signing Dotel 2) Add a starting pitcher (Colon if he still has an arm attached to his body; Freddy would come back about the time we would know about the need to replace a back 3 starter) 3) If possible, get Bill Hall to play 2nd, CF, 3b and be a possible SS in the future (Maybe Crede and some prospect if the Brewers would do it.) 4) Everybody hold hands and chant Ozzie for a higher power while at Soxfest. I don't like to focus on other teams as Kenny should focus on making this team better--as he has committed to win this year; however, I am still not sold on the Tigers. They look like they have the potential for a lot ogff injuries: Irod, Jones, Shef, Rogers. Mags etc are all getting older and more brittle.
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) He's better in CF than Everett. Of course, I'm better in CF than Everett. do you believe in dinosaurs?
  14. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 02:59 AM) I would really like to see Kenny sign Colon to an incentive laden contract....if that pays off, we will be golden. Low risk, high reward....and I know KW loves the guy.... Anyone know of any latest news on Colon? Anything positive regarding his health? I would prefer Freddy Garcia. A bullpen si gni and some luck
  15. QUOTE(JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 02:31 AM) Well what do ya think? Im also about to make another trade... Angels get: DH Jim Thome + Cash White Sox get: CF Reggie Willits RP Dustin Moseley I then move Dye to DH, and put Swisher in RF. l would say you are high and the Dew sig would suggest you are really high
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 01:32 AM) I'd take Bonderman's stuff over every person in the Sox rotation not named Javy, but I will admit his numbers have been nothing but mediorce. Than again a lot of people said similar things about Josh Beckett for a couple years, especially his first season or so in Boston where he was again mediocre. Everyone knew he had amazing stuff but between blister trouble and inconsistencies he wasn't dominate. Than all of a sudden last season rolled out around and he officially emerged. I know one thing, Bonderman's numbers may not have been great, but I and every other baseball person would love to have him in the front 3 of your rotation and if the Tigers are down on him I'd love to find a way to make an interdivision trade. I would take his stuff but not his head or character over Buehrle. I might, maybe take his head over Javy. But not 07 javy.
  17. First post; take it easy on me: I love the trade. I do not like getting rid of DLS but that being said, I have only seen a few comments, here, or on SSS or anywhere, that talk about signing Sweaty Freddy to bolster the rotation. Also, I am quite sure that in the somewhat likely event of a complete collapse or a complete Det. or Clev. runaway, there is no reason to believe we cannot replenish the stock of potential Sox in the minor leagues. Especially when Swish should give a good return on our investment in the Cell's close confines if we need to trade him. In addition, name the last time a team on either side of town had a quality center fielder (if that's where Swisher plays) signed for 5 years. Lance Johnson? I agree, we need to bolster the rotation and would love to see another addition to the bullpen. However, we are improved for 2 years, hopefully. I am more excited today for April than I was yesterday. And, we still have 2 trading chips, Crede and Uribe, who can get us something. Besides, is here anyone else but me and buddy from Detroit who doesn't think the Tigers are 2 injuries away from being the 2007 Sox? They already covered the 2006 Sox. At least we won one.
