  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) The Bulls need to improve and work in Boozer. The guy is a very very efficient offensive player and unfortunately, given the team wasn't able to practice with him and hasn't had a lot of time playing with both Noah and Boozer, they just haven't developed the appropriate offensive rhythm with Carlos. I expect him to play significantly better next year (from an offensive efficiency standpoint) and I still think they'll get him going better the rest of the postseason. Boozer is a guy who has produced pretty well, from a historic standpoint, in the playoffs and against longer players (he's had some strong playoff series against the long Lakers). The first half of your last sentence is true, the second half is the opposite of true
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) Boozer hasn't been great but I haven't been thrilled with how they've utilized him. Hey sort of isolated him from the flow of the offense and just sort of tossed the ball to him to "get him going". He plays much better with pick and pops. And also the passes to him were usually a second too late. And even in addition to that, the refs were hounding him on the offensive end. This is what I've been saying. When he gets the ball late and fumbles it and then turns around and gets stuffed immediately and turns it over it looks really bad but that's also a ball movement problem that others on the offense (mostly Rose, but everyone) needs to be aware of. I had the audacity to suggest Rose was partially responsible for some of the turnovers and failures in the paint and a couple of people started foaming at the mouth like "HOW DARE YOU SAY ROSE ISN'T INFALLIBLE AND EVERYTHING THAT GOES WRONG ISN'T BOOZER'S FAULT"
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 08:41 AM) They will for stretches. If Miami is smart they will mix it up on Rose to keep guys fresh. Sure, for stretches, for as much s*** as he takes Spoelstra knows what he's doing. Still, not the entire series like Indiana was doing. They can't.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) I still don't understand why they didn't provide a copy earlier, like a year ago earlier. I get that the WH didn't want to legitimize the issue, but after it became apparent that their refusal to come up with the certificate was leading to a decent amount of people (not just Republicans) questioning whether the speculation was true they should have produced it. As usual, the Dems are completely lousy at the PR game and have lost this battle. Trump gets to boast (wrongly of course) that he was the only one to force the WH to act and gained more support because of it. Obama meanwhile, gained nothing. Why should he have to? No one else ever has and the other document is a valid document for anyone else who has ever had to prove their citizenship (including me). It was silly bulls*** that did not dignify a resoponse.
  5. Education makes you more likely to stick to your views more often than not.
  6. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 04:34 AM) The players don't deserve anything, they are EMPLOYEES and wouldn't even be making s*** if it weren't for the billionaires that own the teams they are employed too.. Unless it was total BS, the reported offer from the owners sounded more than fair The billionaire owners wouldn't be billionaires if they didn't have elite athletes playing for them either.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:39 AM) It was about time for Rose to do that. Two poor games prior to tonight and this was needed. I know all the experts are jumping back on the Celtics and Heat's bandwagon, but I feel like we match up very well with both of them. I'm not scurred. We matched up very poorly against the Pacers. They had George and another F doubling Rose. Only Granger is a factor on offense so they could go max intensity on Rose. Hibbert caused problems underneath, too. The Heat don't have anything like that. They're not going to put Wade and James on Rose, they'd get tired too quickly, and they don't have the bench to make up for it so it'd cost them offense. Boston doesn't really have the answer either, although we are more evenly matched against them, and they don't have Perkins anymore. Atlanta is a total mismatch, I wouldn't be surprised if that ended in a sweep. Orlando is not particularly scary either. Stop them from killing you with threes, which the Bulls can do without that much difficulty, and it doesn't matter if Howard scores 45, they don't have anything else.
  8. If all of the stuff I've heard is true, Sony's going to make a lot of lawyers very happy.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:21 AM) Yeah, at that point in the game I thought we might lose the game. Then Rose scored 6 or 7 straight, we went on a 9-0 run, and that was all she wrote. It was awesome. I had written on Facebook something to the effect "Anytime Rose wants to toss his shots all the way to the rim would be great, preferably now" and 2 minutes later he hits a 3, then another. I think he heard me call him out, and evidently he agreed.
  10. They waited until 80-something games into the season to start playing like the defending champs.
  11. Roger Goodell wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal blowing s*** way out of proportion, distorting, and bulls***ting. Literally everything he wrote was bulls***. The parts I found particularly amusing: it was the OWNERS that didn't like the status quo, the players were cool with it, but he's pinning the whole thing on the players like they want a radical overhaul of the system - and, he talks about the union lawyers like they're some sinister bad guys cynically out for personal gain. Ummm as if the NFL doesn't have a god damn army of its own lawyers. Nicely done, Goodell, you have surpassed Bud Selig for s***tiness in a league commisisoner

  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 11:47 PM) 5 year old technology will never be state of the art in the computer industry (yes, consoles are technically computers). They have made mods to the hardware of both systems, but at the core, they're still primitive in comparison to a PC that is equipped with the latest video card and processor. Moore's law says that the number of transistor on a chip can double every two years. In that time, the average transistor size on the average processor has gone from 90 nm to 45 nm. The state of the art processors today have shrunk down to 32nm and 16nm is not too far in the future. I seriously have a hard time playing some of the PS3 ports on my monitor. It just doesn't compare with how crisp the games look on PC. Battlefield 3 will be the one of the first games to truly emphasize just how powerful the PC is compared to the consoles at this point. Microsoft and Sony need to seriously think about new consoles and fast. Money is one thing they can drain out of the current gen, but if developers are going to be held back by old technology, it's going to give more of the market share to the PC. ^^^This. Not a knock on the PS3 at all. I have a 360, but I'm not one of those. But it's just a fact. Yeah, the games look pretty, but not AS pretty as if they were running on true state-of-the-art hardware from, say, 2010. Neither console can really compare to what a PC can do.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) Boozer's defense is so freaking bad. Bulls in foul trouble now and the lead is down to 4. This was the last point of the game in which the score margin mattered
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) This just might be a big problem for me and my PSN brethren. How timely. I think I'd rather have to pay $50/year than have my identity stolen, Tru. You are the victory. Sony better hope that things aren't super terrible, but you don't normally send out these types of warnings unless it's about as bad as can be. Hello, law suit. This is a Titanic-level disaster, there's no downplaying it and Sony's not even going to try.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:53 PM) The PS3 has evolved continually since launch. The original concept may be 5 years old, the PS3 Slim + all software that is updated consistently is still state of the art. I mean the hardware. The 360 has evolved pretty far since 2005 too, but 5-year old hardware can only be so "state of the art" compared to something that came out last week.
  17. I like that the refs FINALLY called a flagrant 2 but they waited all the way until Game 5 to do it.
  18. That was a good old-fashioned ass whipping. Like "made them their b****" territory.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 01:14 AM) It sounds like they bred an SNES with a PS3, 360, and Dreamcast. Nintendo is gonna go away from the non-gamer market that the Wii had it seems. I feel like Project Cafe is gonna fall flat on its face. MS and Sony definitely beat Nintendo by 4 or 5 years. The Wii was a continuation of Generation Six, while it seems Cafe is Nintendo finally getting to generation 7. Uncharted 2 was what, 45% of the PS3's power? The PS3 could have another five years before Sony needs to make the PS4 since it's Blu-Ray equipped. 360 shouldn't worry due to HDD and the ability to download games, to make up for space lost from DVD's capacity. This is just Nintendo playing catch up. They can't just drop the hardcore market and suddenly re-enter and casual gamers won't care for a Dreamcast controller and $400 console without the ability to wave a Wii controller around. The PS3 is still a system that came out 5 years ago no matter what.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) I won't vote for a terrible candidate who's done a crap job and stabbed his more liberal constituency in the back repeatedly for over 2 years by caving in to Republicans over and over and over. That Obama is inevitably better than whatever terrible candidate the Republicans will offer is not an argument in favor of perpetuating our terrible, doomed system. So, yeah that's basically anybody the Democrats will nominate
  21. I'm not going to give most people that much credit though... at least half of people are just followers.
  22. QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 12:06 AM) Admittedly I'm not the soberest (is this even a word? probably not) person in the room right now, but I'm 99.9% sure you're the only person to even mention Rondo's name in the last 10 pages of this thread. No I was just saying that to be saying it. We don't have many (if any) Celtics fans here or thered be people acting like it was still a valid argument.
  23. It will never be Rondo, and to bring his name up is insulting
  24. I've been listening to NPR a lot lately and its so funny, the way conservatives talk about it and what it actually is. NPR is about as neutral as you can get. Soooo much better than cable news because they don't talk about bulls***.
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 03:24 AM) Same here. I only want her and Zaeed's loyalty for the achievement and their unique powers, but damn they both piss me off. Zaeed is boring... Kasumi is awesome
