Sox vs. Tigers 6/29/05 6:05 CST Gamethread

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Yet, when the bases were loaded and Politte was pitching with no outs, I didn't see anyone saying that he would get out of it. It's nice when you just don't say anything and use hindsight, isn't it? Well I'm not good at quoting myself ten pages back but: That doesn't sound like "Game Over" to me. I can understand why people are pessimistic but you don't need to call out all the other fans everytime you think the sky is falling. -

Anyone else notice A.J's strikezone is starting to look like Uribe's? -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) Does that mean you are conceding a loss here? Why else would you say that? You must be thinking that Shingo will blow the game here. The same five people that said "Game Over" when Politte loaded the bases in the 8th would say it before he gave up the run in the inning he just got out of. -

Next time anyone feels the urge to type "swinging for the fences", do Soxtalk a favor and delete your post. We've all heard it before and you'd be saving us a ton of bandwidth. Wow, when was the last time Shingo pitched in this kind of pressure situation? -

I have to agree with any sane person, there's no reason for Viz to pitch a third inning. -

Frank doesn't need bandwagon fans. Any of you guys saying "f*** Frank Thomas," it's way past your bedtimes. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Because I can't imagine any team not being able to score 1 run with the bases loaded and no outs. Well imagine it because it happens more than you care to think. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) Wasn't comerica the setting for angry cliff last year?? He avoided that this time around Cliff is still very very angry. It takes a long time to get over something like that. Be careful. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Pauly and Aaron are the two guys on this team who could center one of Farnsworth's heaters. Aaron Rowand? Ha ha ha. But seriously folks, what is up with Polanco's head? It's not even close to round. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) If Frank ever centered one of Farnworth's fastballs it would probably go 600 ft. Frank could probably check his swing and hit a homerun off Farnsworth. -

Every team in the AL knows where to play their left fielders when Pods is up now. How many hits has he lost in the past five or six games? -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) Pitching to your surroundings. Agreed, anyone remember Garcia pitching at Wrigley Field? I'm sure he wasn't thanking the wind for bomb after bomb that he should have given up. -

Scott usually plays shallow on his own, not because of Ozzie. It saves a few singles from dropping in but then you get the triple like we just saw. Scott is not blameless and would be the first to tell you he should've caught that. -

Rowand handles that one no problem. -
Radke has lost his last four decisions and continues to get pounded in the first inning. He's still not walking many but he's getting smacked around by everybody. It sounds like your typical veteran who loses some of his stuff and needs to make a pitching adjustment. Hopefully he doesn't figure it out anytime soon.

Wow, all that satellite imagery and now they've got this sweet 3D terrain mapping. Give this a download if you have a decent computer and aren't on a dialup connection. I've spent hours on Google Maps just playing around and can already imagine myself doing the same with this. http://earth.google.com For fun, be sure to turn on the 3D buildings.

12-8 Indians. Never mind that stuff I said before.

Wow, Arthur Rhodes of Cleveland just got rocked while Silva and Mulholland have blown a few leads between them vs. Kansas City. Would be nice if the Sox can pick up a game on these two just to kill whatever momentum they thought they had.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Sorry, but thats bulls*** by Sox fans. Men overboard! It's ok, we won and now we can all be friends for another night. -
Wow what a huge confidence booster for Hermy!! Not too long ago the Tigers had bases loaded nobody out in the 9th vs. San Francisco and could not score. Of course they were down by four in that game but that team is pathetic in the clutch.

In other news, Peter is suing New Line for some $140 million he claims the company owes him for unreported profits from the LOTR trilogy. You can bet he made extra sure to get a cut of the gross in his King Kong contract.
