Want Minnesota to fold and go away?
DonkeyKongerko replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) Not really. I mean in terms of the playoffs, our pitching wasn't really the problem. It was our hitting in the playoffs that sucked. I think only Jose Valentin hit decent in that series. Ray Durham and Jose were basically our entire offense for the series. -
I hope the Cubs get rained out all weekend

After a few good starts and little to show for it, Z is gettin spanked around early today. Good thing I started him... 4-0 in the 2nd. -
QUOTE(robin_ventura_eternal @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) i specifically remember hunter dropping two fly balls, one against the sox. those cant be his only errors. i dont think hunter will win it this year. The first gold glove is the hardest one to win. I'll take any bets against Hunter.

The way we're both playing right now, the Sox and Twins could finish with the top 2 records in the AL. If that happened, we'd have a good chance of facing an AL West opponent in a short series. I don't really like the Sox facing anyone from the West in the postseason given our recent history and what happened in 2000. -
still doubt timo in the utility role, haters?
DonkeyKongerko replied to robin_ventura_eternal's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So we have to keep Timo around all season hitting like crap, being slow, and costing us games in the field just so he can get one hit at the end of the season? Are you saying nobody else on the Sox is capable of getting a game winning hit besides Timo? Saying he's clutch is one thing, but making up some scenario to justify your argument is just plain wrong. -
Arizona has just completed blowing an 11-2 lead maybe slightly news worthy. The comeback team: Kansas City definitely makes this worth reporting. It's now 11-11.

Crede > Ozuna. Ozuna is an ok utility guy to have around but hopefully no one talks about him starting for a while. -
AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#

If a game is ever tied in the 9th or worse and such a thread is around, thread starter will be banned from starting such threads ever again. That being said, the Sox did win tonight so and go Dodgers! -

I'm not really a fan of this early posting. What purpose does it serve? -

Aaron probably should have done a better job keeping that in front of him but an error? -

Jon owes Aaron big time. Really looked awful the last part of that inning. -

Garland!?!? Helping his own cause. Woody looks very hittable tonight. -
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) Sorry, but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree on that point. In my opinion, it's best to sit back and observe at first to get a feel for the board. I've noticed some of the new threads started by new posters have been a bit below-SoxTalk standards, in my humble opinion. Maybe that's just my personal style as far as sitting back and getting a feel for it first, but that's what I think, and I believe I have read similar sentiments in this thread... That's true for some posters as well. Everyone is a little bit different but I really enjoy seeing a fresh idea from a new poster pop up once in a while, even if it is a bit unorthodox.
-
Wow, I just read this entire thread and got a warm feeling inside. I've been worried for some time about whether our moderating had become too lenient or would become too strict. I think the best part of this board is how users old and new can have thoughtful discussion without regard for each others' age/post count/etc. on this board. I just don't want new posters to be afraid to start threads. In fact, I think the best way to get a feel for Soxtalk is to just jump right in and start a new thread or two if you have an interesting thought. The emotional outbursts and knee-jerk reaction posts are common in game threads and I think that's where they should stay. So if something happens during a game and you're pissed about it, post it in the game thread. After the game if you're still steaming, maybe just cool down for a few minutes before starting a new thread. I think that would cut down on alot of what people sense is a degrading of Pale Hose Talk.

Who is this Joe Crede guy? Maybe he deserves a starting job? -
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) also a question, what exactly is the reason pitchers wear jackets ont he basepaths? And to look badass so no one picks on them.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Ozzie will be the manager next year And I hope he snubs every focking spankee then Of course he'd also reward every backup no-tool outfielder in the AL.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Wow, if I have to explain that was a joke, then I'm not sure what level of intelligence I'm dealing with here. It is something though that Politte showed more creativity when he was batting than any of our batters have done in a long time. Why do you seem so surprised that someone laughed at your joke? -
