  1. hmm im not sure if someone can help out with salaries but .... liefer or ortiz? or even snow?? most likely i dont see us keeping liefer around if we got some proven vets available that dont complain and can hit in the clutch.
  2. well i guess i could handle trading PK or more favorably, CLee. But isnt it quite a blow to our white sox to trade both away..? I mean Lee's name has come up in just about every trade talk so far this offseason.
  3. i think KW started out as a very one-dimensional GM. he went against his judgements of character and clubhouse presence and basically went on scouting reports alone. in a perfect world i guess things would not have been so bad in the royce clayton situation. unfortunately kenny paid for this and ultimately ended up instiuting the "clubhouse spy" program to keep things in line. this was his solution to a problem created mostly by him. kenny brought in "clubhouse cancers" and thought he could work around them. it takes a very special kind of manager (not JM) and some special players to make a team like that work. i think kenny has learned his lesson. he might be a 1 1/2-dimensional GM now.
  4. man i cant wait to see koch throw against the twins. he is one mean motivated motherf***er. maybe let a couple balls slip on AJ pierzynski.
  5. looks like grieve aint being moved. looks like mets are gonna eat some salary and russ johnson is going to the mets.
  6. funny you mention him. as i made my way through the sea of urlacher and mike brown jerseys today i found my way to my seat.... right next to a rick mirer jersey wearing mofo.
  7. WOW, went to da bears game today for the first time ever and they won. WTF wish i could have that kind of influence on a .500 white sox team. somehow when its a team i dont toil over as much like the 3-10 bears they go and pull one out of their ass over a fairly hot jets team. o well go bears, better not win again actually cuz i want a good QB out of draft.
  8. from what ive heard its alot like wrath of khan. large portion of movie revolves around a single duel between enterprise and the other dude. wrath of khan was good cinema, hopefully nemesis is more of same.
  9. well knuckleballers arent much of an injury risk but i also think you can usually tell what you are getting with one of these guys. i mean this guys 30 years old and probably been scouted pretty thoroughly. i only think there are a few knuckleballers that can actually help carry a team. maybe wakefield in his prime. steve sparks anyone?
  10. this guy has serious control issues. he wants yes-men on his staff and on his team. he can't stand to be criticized even when he gets publicly hosed in a big trade. this guy is just living in a sea of denial. i dont see any hope for this guy til he starts being honest with us white sox fans. i for one can see through most of his bulls***.
  11. man every year i worry that the cubs are gonna actually get good. this year is probably worse than others since they are coming off a bad year and making quite a few moves. do i have a legitimate reason to worry or will history prove too strong for what is turning into a collection of all stars on the north side.
  12. you know i agree that speed is not the only thing that should be considered when trying to pick a lead off man but...carlos lee? i mean the man has to learn to run the bases properly first.
  13. man for a team that is "so close" every year. the oakland A's make alot of trades.
  14. and you know what he wont prove anything to me until he takes this team to a world series. because that should be the goal of all GMs in this sport no matter what organization given enough time and resources. can i see him doing this for us in the near future: no. unless he stops flipping tables and all that other associated nonsense.
  15. come on i think we all can agree this is the look of a man who knows exactly what he is doing.
  16. PTBNL = Joe Valentine + Cash $$$ i think a staple of kenny williams "big trades" is to trade at least 3 players and/or cash for a player somewhere between average and good.
  17. Never has so much been said in by so little.
  18. hmm if i do a name assosciation i think "kelly wunsch" brings back some painful memories. It started back in October of 2000, the picture of him cringing still fresh in my mind with the tagline "This one hurt." Ever since then it seems like Jerry always puts him in to face a big lefty and he usually responds by hitting the batter or throwing a wild pitch. If he somehow manages to get this first pitch over the plate, the batter's eyes widen at this fat pitch and deposit accordingly in the bleachers. I don't know what it is but something about kelly wunsch and his funky delivery ain't foolin nobody anymore.
  19. anyone else notice how shaky jeter is on defense? an error and a couple of balls he couldn't get to. then again he is like 7 for 8 at the plate.
  20. hmmm, how to beat the twins, maybe the sox should take some notes. so far all i have is start a lefty.
