I, for one, would support our team selling the rights to their stadium? After all, is it not a team's objective to generate income to build us a winning team? Granted our management does not really allocate their funds very rationally, but I don't think an extra $40 million could hurt us. Does the corporation really need that extra money lining the pockets of their board members? I say give up the name Comiskey Park to the highest bidder. I don't consider myself a vain person and I don't think the name Comiskey really holds any value near and dear to myself. I couldn't tell you two things about Charles Comiskey besides his name if I wanted to (or cared).

Two things I never thought I'd read in print except for in a sarcastic font color. this is from baseball perspectives by Mike Bauman. You can read the entire article here

Yeah and Colon's body type more closely resembles El-Guapo.

We have always heard the White Sox talking about getting a left-handed bat, mostly during the 2002 season. Most people won't miss Jeff Liefer's (lack of) presence on the bench, but who is our left-handed threat going into the '03 campaign. My instincts tell me this heavily right-handed lineup could be made maybe 4 times more potent by tossing a power lefty into the heart of our order. Any ideas who is gonna fill this role next season? is armando rios really the guy for the job?

well since nobody picked the two favorites i'm gonna do it. Eagles v. Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII. You heard it here first folks.

Rozner seems to be a lot higher on Pudge than many other people of the baseball world. I personally feel it's not worth risking such a high salary on a catcher with two bad legs but a good stick and an arm.
-
i dont know, colon is more of a power-pitcher i think than anyone on our staff would ever strive to be. i dont see him as the long-lasting mentor type of pitcher unless he is able to change his game when his arm starts to go south.

i never thought id be saying this but.. Ditto

I think we need to send JR a mob message. Like kill jerry krause and write that on his bare chest in blood... maybe i just need to stop watching the sopranos -
This just in: career track shows maggs way ahead of abbott in race to have a number retired for the white sox.

Either way it should be interesting to see an All Star Game where the AL is managed by someone other than Joe Torre for once. AL should still win (as we would have last year and in previous years did).

Headlines we might see if we get Colon

OMG what a day of NFL drama. I cant wait til next week!!

wow two pass interference calls in less than a week. one against the professional club and one against the college chaps. both questionable calls. one costing an NFL playoff berth & division title and another costing a national championship. i guess it sux to be a miami sports fan right now...

i think home field is pretty big in this NFL where so many teams are good at home and totally suck on the road. I just can't envision many scenarios where the raiders lose a playoff game at home. Right now they have to be my super bowl favorite because of the Eagles semi-questionable status and the packers well they just suck too. Still I can't discount the Titans as McNair and Jeff Fisher have shown in the past they can take a team into unfriendly territory and just execute their gameplan and basically bore the opposition to death (and win). So I guess the Titans are my wildcard pick for a super bowl appearance or maybe even the Colts if Peyton gets hot.

yeah ASB is definitely the way to go on PS2. I would say it is the most accurate game in terms of players and their individual stances etc. Also the game has a fair amount of realism and the play-by-play is half assedly decent in this version of the game. Still like most ASB and other baseball games, you will find the majority of your scoring comes off of homeruns and that small ball is not the way to go. Especially when you switch to the "power" batting cursor.

wow this is pretty cool

Please you speak in such glittering generalities that I am getting sick. It is easy to say that about any school, especially a school that is the "illinois favorite" and tends to overshadow the others. In other words, it's easy to hate the winner. And sideshow, don't tell me you think our school has more than its share of f***s. How many other schools have you been to? I for one can state that a number of other schools in this state: NIU, EIU, SIU, and even Northwestern would be glad to get rid of some of theirs as well. Perhaps the problem encompasses much more than the school we go to. Or maybe we just live in the wrong dorm. PS Maybe you should tell AD about the problem

sideshow you better not be writing illini-hate literature for heather. i know where you live and what school you go to. and martyparty stop stealing my vocab words.
