  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 12:00 AM) Assuming we clear a lot of room here, and Flowers and Danks have a nice turn around in production by the All-Star Break (massive assumptions, I’ll admit) I really wouldn’t mind playing out the year with the following lineup, and usning it as an early audition for the spring. Give a lot of these guys a pressure free, entrance to the big leagues. C-Flowers 1b-Viciedo 2b-Beckham 3b-Teahen SS-Ramirez, RF-Danks CF-Rios, LF-Pierre, DH-TCQ Well a lineup like that we could be shooting for number 1 draft pick in 2011. Rotation of Peavy, Danks, Garcia, Floyd, Hudson ?
  2. I don't see what did he say that was so bad? Not trying to defend him just not seeing what you guys are?
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 11:14 PM) Thornton needs to be trade becasue his value has never been higher. Honestly, i don't see us being able to resign him either. I believe Sox have a $3M team option which is a no-brainer.
  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Take this FWIW. A friend of mine who works security told me A.J.'s locker was cleaned out when he was in the clubhouse before the game. I'm sure our local media will have the scoop. Interesting.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) That was definitely a trap. I could see that in reg speed. thats what i thought.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) We're not even the worst in MLB this year; Baltimore takes that spot by a good margin. However we don't want to be compared to Baltimore, they are an awful team this year.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:13 PM) Beckham continues to have no bat speed on those inside fastballs, as he can't turn on anything with authority. It's ok, it's all mental and not a flaw in his approach!! 101 ABs without an XBH, something around 160 without a HR.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:12 PM) No more Outfield batter music for Bacon. I like "Jump in the Fire" though. It's been like that for few weeks now, but I believe it's 'Seek and Destroy'
  9. Guillen said recently trades will happen if Sox keep on losing... I'm kinda excited to see what Kenny does, kind of like offseason all over again but no waiting time. Castro!
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) But he still didn't have a good fastball, which kind of raised eyebrows around here. The masterful game against Detroit was against a team that was playing so tight...and drunk Ha, Tigers pretty much lost playoff spot last year to Peavy/Cabrera and whoever from the Sox got him wasted.
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) Oh yeah, I LOVED Peavy when he was on the Padres and I probably creamed my pants a few times when we got him. And then he DOMIANTED in those 3 starts last year and I was happy as could be. But this year.. he's just awful. Nothing like his former self. I used to have faith that he'd turn it around, but I'm just not sure anymore. 13 starts in and he's had 2 good starts. What an absolute joke. True, which makes me wonder how can he decline so much in such a short period of time. I remember watching his starts last year and was truly dominating.
  12. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:02 PM) Lol wild pitch followed by a balk. What an awful, awful 16 million dollar a year pitcher. I think I'm over my Peavy mancrush. You've had one? Coulda fooled me.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 06:54 PM) Why was Nix playing even with the bag with an extremely slow hitter at the plate? That's what happens when a second baseman plays third.
  14. Pierre bobbling the ball actually helps to nail Choo at third.
  15. We have played two games against Talbot and looked absolutely brutal against him, don't expect much change tonight.
  16. Looks like Peavy's "dead arm" is suddenly alive - Chuck Garfien
  17. Little extra motivation for Jake as he is going for win #100 ?
  18. This might be the short game thread with Hawks playing and all, I will be out watching both!
  19. Let's hope Danks is on tonight, he had couple of rough (for his usual self) starts last few times around. We are playing a team that just got no hit, no excuses but WIN.
