  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) Both CQ and Gordon flew out to deep center? Anyone watching let me know if they actually hit it well? I thought Beckham hit the ball well, didn't see CQ's.
  2. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) Well, Mark Teahen has reached base 0 times since going on the DL. Heh. What I mean is, Vizquel is obviously better defensively, and his bat looks as good as Mark, ever since he started getting playing time.
  3. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Stone Pony says "Kotsay is hitting the ball better".... HE'S HITTING TWO O F*&KING SIX!!! For the love of God this team is a joke I mean, wouldn't you rather laugh it off than get upset about it? Season is over, remember?
  4. I wonder how Omar compares to Teahen since Mark went on the DL.
  5. Can someone educate me, why did Big 12 fall apart in the first place?
  6. cst_sox: Peavy just said that if he felt the Sox were going to go young and rebuild all over, he would asked to be moved. But he doesn't think The Chairman would ever totally rebuild, so he feels good about his situation.
  7. I would really love to rewatch this game? Any chance? eh
  8. He makes it seem like he's going to shuffle the roster and we're in the hunt for the playoffs. Like Balta said, impact players for the future and that is rebuilding.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) Lots of energy being displayed by the Sox so far. Maybe the most dead crowd I can ever remember at a Sox game. That's all on Hawks.
  10. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) If AJ is traded now is Flowers even the guy who is brought up? Sounds like they liked Lucy enough while he was here, might as well platoon Lucy and Castro until FLowers figures it out. No need to bring a prospect up who is struggling and set him up for failure. I say give the other two time behind the plate until Flowers comes around and gets on a roll again. I will be very interested to see what the return for AJP will be, I am not enamored with a Catcher who cant throw the ball back to the pitcher, not sure how he would fit anywhere else on the diamond, but probably would be an upgrade on our DH production. No need to rush prospects period, Gordon Beckham is painfully enough to watch.
  11. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) AJ for Salty + A ball pitcher.... That's what I'm thinking.
  12. "if we do something it will be along the lines of shuffling the deck with the expectation that we're going to add impact guys to win" - KW via Cowley I think that man might be lying to himself.
  13. This in fact is the worst time, in my humble opinion.. the trades are not happening and we're still losing! Please Kenny do something.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) I don't think Reinsdorf has to make a decision. I think Kenny needs to be given a new title (a la Paxson), and let Hahn take over. And with Ozzie, hopefully the Marlins, along with the Braves, will have a managerial opening and he is given the option to interview--and he gets one of the jobs. That's best case scenario next offseason. Kenny already is the Vice President, so I assume he never gets fired but stops being the GM at some point.
  15. Inside look with Kenny Williams on CSN right now, Ken talking about Oz. Not sure on the date on this.
  16. QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) Cowley I assume your vote would belong under the neither option.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) Ozzie, his family has been nothing but disrespectful to an organization that provided them with so much. I'm so tired with his act.
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 10:59 PM) It looks like there’s some serious bad blood forming between the Guillen family and the White Sox organization. The Oney stuff is well documented (although, Ibis Guillen’s parking lot confrontation with KW has flown a bit under the radar.), but this Ozney stuff seems like a further indicator of just how bad things are getting. Cowley had this to say about the Ozney pick, “Ozney selected in the 22nd round by the Sox - basically a slap in the face as far as the Guillens are concerned. He will go to USF says Oz,” and the comments given by Ozzie (in direct contrast to an interview with Merkin three days prior) confirm this. Cowley concluded with this, "Translation - the cold war between manager and GM is as frigid as ever. “An ominous but unsurprising conclusion. A conclusion that was retweeted (and reaffirmed) by Oney Guillen. What’s clear here is that while Oney is not representative of his father or his father’s opinions, there does seems to be something at work here. I imagine a lot of the juicy bits will be saved for the reality show, but things aren’t right between the Guillen's and the White Sox. I can’t help but think that Jerry Reinsdorf is the only reason that Ozzie is still here. http://twitter.com/cst_sox I didn't see this before making my thread.
  19. This has become an embarrassment to the White Sox organization. Let's put the rebuilding process aside. Cowley: Read the article here. If you were to make the decision who do you want to see gone?
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 10:10 PM) The Hawk stuff was awesome tonight, BTW Agreed.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) We have "shouldn't be in the majors" Beckham tonight. He's opening up so much, and literally has no prayer of hitting that slider. When you're the GM and making plans for 2011, still trying to compete, is Beckham your starting 2B ?
