Starters are averaging 5.1 innings per game. 4 innings is terrible no matter how you slice it.

It was the 5th inning with 1 out. You can't just take starters out whenever they struggle. He needs to be able to pitch over mistakes, otherwise he's a reliever. Still - if you want to criticize LaRussa for that, fine. Makes a lot more sense than not yelling at umpires.

These calls wouldn't matter if Keuchel wasn't absolutely awful against a mediocre team. 5 runs should be enough.

The umpiring hasn't been good all year for us, but this time was the absolute most blatant missed calls and overreaction from an umpire I've seen in a long time. Just brutal.
