  1. Sox hit a lot of ground balls. Those move slower on wet dirt.
  2. He also got the benefit of some borderline calls. I've seen him get roughed up and its when he can't locate the breaking ball and needs to rely on the fastball. He can't spot that as well and can get beat. I bet that was the Sox plan of attack but it didn't work out. I want to know why they didn't seemingly try to adapt. Crowd the plate and take away the inside. Look for the ball outside - mostly what he did was throw offspeed away all game.
  3. Engel looks like shit man. Jesus.
  4. Lynn: 3 2/3, 5 runs Bullpen: 4 1/3, 1 run We can absolutely win this series but we need to hit.
  5. So... 6 in the 9th then the mad Australian?
  6. In high school I played the #3 kid in state in singles tennis and got demolished. Almost won a game though! This was so our actual first singles player could face worse competition and make it farther. He still lost. Moral of the story? The Sox better win tomorrow.
  7. Lot of really weak contact today. Looks like they're waiting back but not quite long enough.
  8. Now McCullers isn't getting the corner
  9. I think that was ball 4 also. Thank go Yoan was moving. Grab a run here now!
  10. I don't think McCullers can hit the inside corner consistently. Lean and look outside.
  11. I would rather this be the clunker given the Sox can't hit McCullers, but man.
  12. Sox playing tight. And Lynn not getting the same zone as McCullers.
  13. That was quite a wild pitch.
  14. Good at bat by Leury. This strike zone is HUGE.
  15. Just move up and hang over the plate everything goes towards the left handed batters box.
  16. McCullers looking good. Got to get his pitch count up.
  17. Best average in baseball. We were fifth.
  18. Good job hitting, bad location to spot a fastball outside with a big hole by second.
  19. Rays didn't walk Judge and he made them pay. Yankees are one of the wild cards.
  20. What would a deal even look like? He's got 2 years until his opt-out (which I doubt he takes) and 5 seasons after that, all at $32m/year. Assuming you take on most or all of that money, what would you even give in return? Padres already have a solid system and really would want a major league ready return to plug other holes, I'd imagine. Would that even be worth it?
  21. Can people hit the ball in the air off Bummer anymore?
  22. I've seen plenty of slides like that in the past. He was also sliding into the bag and didn't target Goodrum at all.
  23. 1) It wasn't THAT bad 2) You get hit 20 something times with a baseball, including once in the head, and let's see if you want to be gentle with the opposing team.
  24. I dunno guys, yeah it was stupid to slide like that but the dude has been plunked so much this year, got hit in the head... he's got to be tired of it. I totally understand how he feels.
