  1. Back to reality in May. They'll lose 3 out 4 in KC and go 13-17 in May. Don't worry though. I'm never right.
  2. I'm done taking shots at Hawk. We know he's at the end. But in general, I don't want Baseball 101 non stop from announcers. People can figure stuff out on their own, or find geek stuff on the internet. Call the game. Accentuate the game with some stories or experiences if they're interesting. Other than that, shut up and let me watch the game.
  3. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ May 1, 2017 -> 11:03 AM) How fortunate are the Cubs that the Mets are completely incapable of keeping their pitchers healthy? The Mets have dead brained heavers that get hurt, and the Cubs have pitchers that are less likely to break down.
  4. Make that 3 homers, 10 rbis
  5. Anthony Rendon with 9 ribs today. Good way to end a month.
  6. Long term, I think Anderson is a real solid player that has some better years than others. Kinda like Alexei. When the Sox get good, it would be a good sign if he's batting 7th. As far as defense, make the routine plays and know when to not throw. He'll get there.

Nice to see Basabe have a respectable batting average. No rush with him, but you don't want to see him struggle too much either.

    Moncada 2 RBIs

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 12:32 PM) Who cares. And why? He's immature. He's starting a day game. If he partied last night, he's not ready for AA at his age. I'm not commenting on this any more than that. If you disagree, feel free.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 12:20 PM) Kopech scratched with a mild ankle sprain. He'll make his next start. Some twitter chatter about him being on social media at 2am on his 21st birthday. Should have began at Winston-Salem.
  11. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 11:42 AM) How many innings do they need to play in order for the game to be official if someone has a lead? Is it 5? 5. If there is a lead, they call it final. If it's tied, they'll suspend until June 2. If they play less than 5 full, it didn't happen.
  12. https://twitter.com/PaulHembo/status/858707213300453376 This will be jinxed today, of course. If they play.
  13. QUOTE (harkness @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) Yeah some more stuff starting to form behind.. this has a slim chance in hell of being played.. it might get called early. Just noticed that myself. Seems to be filling in rather than fizzling out. Ugly radar in the middle of the country.
  14. QUOTE (harkness @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 09:18 AM) There is a decent cell headed that way... then a window before a larger cell... If they can get it in that window they have a chance. But highly iffy... The second blob of rain could suck, but maybe it fizzles before getting there. I think they start on time though and play several innings before anything too bad.
  15. Also has a torn meniscus and high ankle sprain. 6-9 month recovery after surgery, which hasn't been scheduled yet.

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20170430 Kopech starts on his 21st birthday. 2:05.

QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 07:56 PM) Spencer Adams back to not striking guys out and getting lots of ground balls. He has given up 7 hits over 4. He gets experience pitching with runners on base, that's for sure.
  19. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 07:48 PM) Nice rebound today after the blown save. Also as an aside has anybody noticed the start that Alex Avila has gotten off to? Where was this guy the two years with the Sox???? Mark Just one year with the Sox. Injuries limited him to 57 games, but his OPS+ was over 100.

Naquin kinda got the hose going back to AAA.
  21. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) Is Swarzak the Albers of 2016? Hard to believe this is all for real after what happened last year. I know. I'm trying to enjoy this for what it is, but I'm conflicted. If they're around .500 in the middle of June, I'd be excited.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 12:22 PM) Only giving up one run in the first to this explosive offense is a major success for Fulmer. He pretty much did the same thing against the Twins last Sunday, and ended up with a good start. 7 innings, 2 runs.
  23. http://www.espn.com/mlb/standings/_/group/overall 19 teams between 3 over and 3 under .500. The Sox are the best of the mediocres. Hope they keep pitching.
  24. He's on the DL with left knee strain.
