QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) which former sox player will get the gig next? DJ? Probably Thome.
-
This could have been written 6 weeks ago and been somewhat topical. The season is over in 14 weeks. That will be the end of Robin Ventura's managerial career. Fire him now? Wait til the end of the season and let him resign on his own? Who cares. There's no way he managing next season.

DJ Peterson homer in the first off Booch. Only a .289 OBP this year for Peterson. Thought he was better than that.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 11:17 AM) They were all singing a different tune when they liked the moves in the offseason. Personally, I didn't like anything aside from the Laroche signing. As a fan, it's good to be optimistic when new players are acquired. We don't see their warts everyday, but you hope Sale and Abreu get teammates that are good enough to be a top 5 team. Now that this season has gone to hell, fans aren't going to give that same benefit of the doubt. There has never been a better time in the last 10 years to make huge changes at the executive level, the coaching staff, and player personnel. It's time to face facts-- incompetence in the Sox organization is rampant.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) I disagree. He turned down GM jobs in other spots that didn't give him autonomy. There's no way he took this one without actually being the GM. But maybe he took it on a lesser level, BECAUSE it was the White Sox. He has those working relationships, so he took the title and the pay raise. It was something he could do for the Sox, but not Team X.
-
It's possible I'm fooled by Hahn too, but I'll take that chance with Kenny out of the organization. Give Hahn autonomy for three years and see if things improve.
-
We don't know what's going on there with Kenny and Hahn. That's part of the problem. I know one thing for a fact- Kenny has to go. It's time.

Doubleheader shutout for the Orioles over Indians.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) And all 4 based those expectations on major free agent signings. Maybe that's worth noting? Absolutely. On the position player side, the game is about being young, energetic, and athletic.

Bottom 5 in the AL... Indians 33-41 Mariners 34-42 Red Sox 34-43 A's 34-44 White Sox 32-42 5 teams out of it before the break, and 4 of these teams had real expectations going into the season.
-
Indians, no runs, 8 hits in 16 innings today so far.
-
Ventura had to be convinced to take the job. All of his teams have underperformed whether they were trying to win or not over the last three seasons. This isn't a decision that's real difficult. I'm not saying do it now as some last ditch effort to save the season. Actually, if they wait until October 5th and let him step aside on his own, that's fine. But there is no question Ventura cannot be here in 2016, and hopefully the entire coaching staff goes too, including Cooper. Time for a change, and hope things go better with the next regime. And even better, Kenny actually takes some blame with consequences, and he resigns.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 03:36 PM) Watching this team will do that to you. I'm listening to the postgame show. I must be nuts.

15-25 in the division. 14-27 on the road. Business as usual.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Fire Hawk as well. Everything about this franchise is staler than the hot dog buns they server in the upper deck. I can't wait to see how many season tickets they lose after this season. They deserve every bit of what's coming to them.
-
Hawk still b****ing. Go to Orlando, old man.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 03:13 PM) Go Cards on tues and wed They probably won't need luck. I still want Sale to win his starts, but other than that, keep losing.

QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 03:08 PM) Rongey back on his managers do not matter schtick. We should test his theory by changing White Sox radio hosts If only 5 managers are better than the other 25, then that's a pretty bad sign for MLB. If a manager is just interchangeable, then after 3 years you should be trying to find a better mind and motivator.
-
Don't care. In fact, good.
-
They should be forced to go to the Cubs-Cardinals game tonight and watch them play fundamental baseball...the Cardinals that is.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) I have rarely felt that JR runs an incompetent ship but right now I'm convinced of it. This team is clownshoes from JR all the way down. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hahn resign after the year. That thought has crossed my mind. I have nothing to base it on, but if intellectually he can't stick with Kenny as his boss doing things he knows are wrong, I could see that.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Another 0-4 for Alexei. Sure glad he keeps getting to play. I think some teams would just cut him a check for 6 mil and send him to Boca.
-
Or....or...it's Don Cooper's fault. Remember, we don't know who the hell runs the pitching staff. The White Sox way--make sure you spin the blame around, and then land on the players.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) Jeff is not an ace. Like I said only a few pitchers should stay in with a scenario like that. It doesn't matter if they don't want to be taken out, that is why we have a manager But the Shark Cage! Of course he's an ace.
