Tanaka on the DL. Who didn't see that coming?
-
Such horses*** the Sox are forced to go back on May 28.

Guess they aren't dropping the suspensions until after Detroit. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/593143325735133185

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 03:31 PM) I think you're right but two things. Any reason to be sure it's Carroll and not Rodon? and how do you know Carroll (or Rodon) is going Saturday as opposed to Friday/Sunday/Monday? I split Danks and Quintana up. Carroll instead of Rodon because it hasn't reached the point where somebody needs to be dropped from the rotation. He was brought up to be in the pen, for now. Might as well leave him there. Better yet, send him back to Charlotte to start again, and forget he was ever brought up. But I'm sure some will disagree with that.

So, back to this: Guessing: Wed: Samardzija (which is confirmed) at Minnesota- Sale, Quintana, Carroll, Danks Detroit- Noesi, Samardzija, Sale Cincinnati- Quintana, Danks, Noesi at Milwaukee- Samardzija, Sale, Quintana

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) Is tomorrow even going to be televised? WPWR, 1pm.
-
Well, at least it's settled. The Sox must have approved this scenario. Hopefully a win tomorrow, and then Jeffy can drop his appeal finally.
-
Cue Cubs fans making jokes about empty stadiums.
-
If they're not playing in Baltimore this weekend, that game tomorrow better be in Chicago on July 3.
-
Ok, I figured that was happening. 3 in Toronto 2 in Baltimore 3 in Houston 3 in Texas 11 game road trip in 11 days

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 01:25 PM) Please tell me there's video of this somewhere. You didn't miss anything. AJ barely moved. https://twitter.com/MLB/status/591327590096351235

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 12:38 PM) The Orioles and MLB arent looking at this situation as a one day fix so Sox fans can get their game in. They should be anticipating this a little more long term than that seeing its probably not going to get better over night. They need to figure something out so we will see what they come up with. This has nothing to do with Sox fans---not the issue. It's about playing 162, and not having teams giving up off days to travel, playing back-to-back doubleheaders, or playing on Oct. 5.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) The Cubs thought it was too difficult to have the first part of the season in Milwaukee even with the knowledge and time to prepare months in advance. Say what you will but I think you guys are underestimating the difficulty in working out the logistics of moving a million dollar daily production to another city. It's one day vs a couple dozen games away from your own home park. Huge difference.

Manfred has been a disappointment so far.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) How awful. MLB Trade Rumors @mlbtraderumors 11m11 minutes ago Kirk Gibson Diagnosed With Parkinson's Disease http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/?p=52389c That's too bad. He probably has CTE too.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) This is gonna screw us later on in the season. We're gonna be playing double headers on our off-days. All they had to do yesterday is say "We're not playing this series in Baltimore this week. There will be a doubleheader in Washington DC on Wednesday (which gives them almost 48 hours to get ready), and the third game will be made up in Chicago on July 3, with Game 1 having the Orioles as the home team." That would have been sensible.
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) Fine, then tell Angelos that there will be a DH tomorrow, and he can choose whether it is in Washington or Chicago. Exactly.
-
And I mentioned before, the best date for the Sox to return to Baltimore is May 28. Off day between being in Toronto and Houston. Other than that, it's more inconvenient. And two doubleheaders in Chicago back to back would suck too.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) Unless it matters, have a feeling some of these games won't be made up Nah, they're pretty hellbent on getting make up games on the schedule. They don't want regular season games on October 5th.
-
If they can't find a way to play two games tomorrow, they dragged their feet too long. There have been games rained out the day before a scheduled off day, where you lose the off day. Not that much different if they changed venues.
-
QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 10:22 AM) It's very difficult to just move a game to an alternate site on short notice. There are staffing issues and ticketing problems. It might seem the perfect solution, but there are hoops to jump through. They've had ample time since 5pm yesterday, in my opinion.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 10:13 AM) IMO Angelos wants no part of using anything that the Nationals have. That's where it would be nice if MLB had a Commissioner that makes decisions, and not just a puppet for the owners.

Statement from Commissioner Manfred...Balt Sun article on series
flavum replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/593043691436187648 Seems like it's an easy decision--get the hell out of town, play 2 in DC tomorrow, and make up the third game in Chicago. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 08:07 AM) Coats doing just fine in AAA. He's probably been overlooked as far as prospect status. He's 25, but he probably should be in the Top 30 in the organization.
