The big problem I see is that there are better FA alternitives for most of the guys we are shopping. I mean why trade for Maggs if there is a chance you could get Vladdy, why take Konerko's contract when Palmeiro is out there, is it worth it to get Koch when Foulke, Guardado, Benitez and Worrell are availible. It looks like our guys will be other teams second choice and we could be left waiting while they persue other options first. I just hope we are still able to get some things done when this all plays out.

Got this from rotoworld. Braves declined to offer arbitration to outfielder Gary Sheffield. The Braves apparently plan to file a grievance against the Yankees, believing that they've already in fact agreed to terms with Sheffield. The Braves might have a case, but the fact that they weren't certain enough that a deal was done to actually offer arbitration to Sheffield could work against them.

I agree except for Benitez, he seems like a bit of a head case I would take Worrell instead.

If Colon leaves I think signing Ponson and trading for Perez is probably the best we would be able to do. As long as they put together a strong bullpen to go with it I would be happy with it.

True enough but I am still not a big fan of wunch. Another guy I like is Todd Worrell but he might get more attention with his success closing last year.

They did offer Eddie arbitration so who knows, but I would assume he will still leave for a multi year deal.

The Giants did not offer him arbitration so if Colon goes we could get him with out giving up a draft pick. This might make it a little more attractive.

Arthur Rhodes would be a nice addition.

Good point but I think he would come cheeper than Gonzalez and it would probably only take a one year contract considering his age.

I'm in Canada we get snow 11 months a year.

If we can move Konerko I would love to get Palmeiro to share 1B and DH with Thomas. I think he could be a good lefty in the line up and I think he is a better bet than Gonzalez.

The Expos won't go anywhere until some lucky community offers to pay for a nice new stadium for them to play in. Also now that Vasquez is gone I really see them keeping Vlad so they can get more money out of potential ownership groups when they finally settle this.
