  1. Just read this..... Buehrle is known for working fast, and the Rays were compliant with his schedule as he cruised along throwing strikes (and not throwing very hard), keeping them off-balance and getting them out. During the 2 hour, 3 minute game, he was on the mound for just a stunning 32 minutes, according to the Fox Sports Florida crew. Can that last sentance be true?
  2. By brother got tickets for us to go to this game last night at about 10:00 from his friend who was just giving the tickets away. With work we almost didn't go. Anyway we ended up going thank God. Right after the last out was made my brother god a text from his friend who gave us the tickets... "Oh s*** dude, I am about to be sick." Also we got there a little late. Right after the first inning. As we walked in I looked at the scoreboard and turned to my brother and jokingly said "check it out Buerhle's got a no hitter going." Who would have thought.
  3. I was thinking about the mix of players on the Sox. Over the last couple of years Kenny Williams has obviously tired to infuse some youth to go along with the aging core of Konerko, Thome, Dye, and AJ, etc.... In doing so he has brought up or traded for the following guys who I would consider to be the "core young guys." I am only talking about guys on the major league roster. Danks Floyd Clayton Richard Alexei Ramirez Gordon Beckham Quentin Poreda Jenks has been around for a while but I'd still put him in this group These guys are more youthful but I probably wouldn't catrogize them as core guys. Josh Fields Jayson Nix Chris Getz BA In all seriousness where would the top group rank amongst other MLB teams core young guys? If you ask me I think that is a solid group of players. Even though 2005 wasn't too long ago I feel like this team is taking on a new identity in front of ours eyes. There is a lot of baseball left in 2009 but after watching this team play over the last couple weeks my optimism for this year and beyond is definitely growing. So really I guess my question is what team/teams have done a better job retooling on the fly the way KW has?
  4. Havent posted for a while b/c I forgot my password and frankly have been to lazy to retrieve it..... These last few weeks have really been fun to watch. Now get 2 outs and make this official Richard.
  5. Could use a big inning right about now.......
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) Not to make this a political messege board, but after seeing Palins interviews with Couric, she's dumber than W and look where that's gotten us,McCain is as old as dirt and has a history of cancer so it does matter who replaces him should he,God forbid,win... At least politics has taken my mind off the game we easily couldve won had we started a pitcher that had some cojones. Like most Obama supporters you make it very obvious where you lean politicaly. if you dont mind becoming a socialist country than whatever that's your choice. However you should just keep your remarks about Palin to yourself b/c I'm sure there are many people on here who dont share the same views as you. Also that's a great tactic to say you're not trying to make this political but still managing to get your shots in. Sorry something had to be said.
  7. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) This proves the makeup of the team isn't right. YES, Javier is junk and should be jettisoned as soon as possible, but it seems the only way we score is with a homer. Our leadoff hitter sucks, we have very little speed. Buehrle will need to come out firing for game 2...And the book on Kazmir is be patient, he'll use a LOT of pitches. If we play it smart we could get him out of the game early even if we dont score (Ive seen Kazmir pitch 5 innings and have 110 pitches while giving up only 1 run, he's NOT economical). The VERY SAD thing about losing this game is they didn't beat our best...They beat a bum pitcher...I have more respect if they beat one of our other guys, but beating Javvy Vazquez PROVES NOTHING and Im sure the talking heads will be saying how wonderful Tampa bay is, but we gave them this game basically...we ran out a total stiff to start this game. If they beat Mark and Danks, then Ill tip my cap to them...but for tonight foogem. I agree..... However, that is what makes me like our chances going forward.
  8. Come back get them tomorrow and the Sox are in good shape. If there was any game you could chalk down for a loss before it was even played it was this one. I will not let myself get to worked up over this. If we loss tomorrow that's another story.
  9. Fu*ck Me. I want to beat the hell out of all these idiots in Florida. I dislike the fans more than the team.
  10. Way to be Paulie..... Keep it going. Not getting any one with the bases juiced in the 7th really looks bad now.
  11. Nice job Dotel. 3 outs to make something happen. Let's do it.
  12. Wowzer Clayton Richard..... nice. Maybe Hawk was right about starting him.
  13. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) 5th inning of the first game. Nobody's right about anything yet True that.
