  1. our slow ass outfield is gonna lose this game.. or the bad bullpen or the in(non)consistent offense...
  2. steve stone and ed farmer are way better than hawk and dj.. dj repeats himself way too much and talks some weird nonsense alot and hawk is getting a bit over the hill..
  3. First thing I would do is send this team a wake up call. The starting pitching has been excellent all year and this team NEEDS TO HIT and win these games! This team should have atleast 6 or more wins than they do. The can't win them all but the hell three losses in a row with absolutely no offense. First: Call up Jerry Owens, they need him to lead off and get some speed going. Sit Konerko, Thome, Quinten, and Swisher once a week and he could be plugged in the lineup some way. They need to stir up this lineup somehow and get some speed. When he was in the lineup in Spring Training he played good. Second: Send Ramirez to AAA so he can play everyday. He will be good someday but needs experience. Its almost as bad as Uribe when he's out there, almost and automatic out. Third: Make a trade. Get rid of one: Konerko, Thome, Dye or if you have to trade Crede just to get some kind of bat in return. A major change would freshen up this lineup and all it needs is someone who hits for average and can steal more than one base a year. I know theres a team out there that needs a power hitter and has plenty of guys who can hit over .250.... Fourth: AJ is a good hitter and fits in great with this team but he probably cant even throw out Konerko trying to steal second. This is also killing this team and guys will just keep running on him. A new backup (Toby Hall sucks) who can hit and throw guys out would help... Fifth: Juan Uribe - That's all I gotta say, everyone is sick of him, get rid of him somehow.
  4. Many had pretty interested comments about this.. Yes the Sox do have a good record but still they have lost a handfull of games by one run and you cannot expect the pitching to be as dominant all season and games will be tight between the top teams in the league. The three and four hitters need to produce, average wise or obp. You can take any 3-4 hitter in the league and they will have 20-40 homers and 90+ rbis, i dont care who it is, and will definetly hit above .170 for months at a time. If this team wants to stay in first, they need to sit konerko till he figures out his swing and not let him play it out and kill the 1st inning every game or an inning with runners on (besides Uribe, who's sucking it up worse). I just get sick of this guy every year going through the same routine of sucking for months at time then hitting like an average first baseman.
  5. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 01:28 PM) Also maybe if he just left his batting gloves alone and not readjust them a thousand times every at bat he could save his strengh. I wonder if he wears his batting gloves when he's trying to drive his minivan out of the ballpark??
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) And for the next act-Buerhle needs to be sent to AAA/ traded. Word on the street is KW is trying to take the sox to the next level and trying bring back Carl Everett and Roberto Alomar but they're bartering for multiyear deals..
  7. Yet again this guy is off to a slow start and is killing this team. Everytime Konerko bats with runners on it seems like a double play is about to happen or he's gonna strike out. I believe signing this guy long term was one of kw worst moves, as finding a 1b is pretty easy and its very easy to find one that hits over .170 for the first three months of the season while he gets his head out of his ass. This guy don't help the team with the bat and he never stepped up last year when the team sucked as the "team leader". Thank god kw got swish and cabrera, atleast these guys care about winning and have intensity unlike the minivan driving Konerko. Thome is also off to a slow start but he normally don't stay in a slump for months like Konerko. Hell, this team could call up Josh Fields and Jerry Owens and I gurantee they would produce more than these two guys. owens, cabrera, swisher, thome/fields, dye, quinton, aj, crede, alexai/ozuna/uribe now thats a good lineup. The top 3 have good speed, and it eliminates the logjam of slow, powerhitters that strikeout too much at 3-4-5-6 (konerko, thome, dye, aj). That's just my opinion. I think these team has a good chance of staying in the playoff chase this year and there "top hitter, team captain" just plain sucks again this year. The pitching and defense has been great this year, but this teams gotta hit too win. Its inexcusable for half this team hover around .200 again, and if that happens, this team will be a sub .500 team again.
