Apparently we are going to sign Tom Gordon to a deal within the next day or so.

Well I would rather have Vasquez due to the fact that he is cheaper, younger, not as fat (who know's how in shape or ready Colon will be from the stories I have heard...sounds like David Well all over again), AND he has another year on his contract after this one. I don't see us ever signing Colon, but its a decent rented player since it doesn't seem like we are going to give up all too much.

This is the ugliest deal in baseball history. All 3 of these guys are old, washed up, and have nasty contracts. Trade doesn't really accomplish much other than shifting money around.
