I didn't even think about the aspect with this teammates, but I don't know if it matters, because there was never a chance of him being on the roster in August IMO. People are acting like he's the first kicker to ever blow a playoff game. Just like two years ago Blair Walsh missed a chip shot, like a 27 yarder when the fans were sitting in literal negative temperatures for 3 hours. Where was his Today show appearance?

That was the thinking about 2 months ago. He's suddenly being talked about as a top 10 pick. That's why everything has changed.

I don't remember the narrative before the MLB draft, I just remember all the talk at the beginning of the college football season. Then it sounded like he was a lock to play baseball given the money, but nobody knew he would win the Heisman a few months later.

I think that's all easy to say now in hindsight, but he wasn't on any Heisman Trophy lists in the preseason really. In August, the thought of him being a 1st or 2nd round NFL draft pick was crazy, which was the only way he would even think of passing up that guaranteed signing bonus. But life comes at ya fast.

Parkey seemed to be kicking shorter all day, as if to not overkick. On the kick he made when Pederson iced him, it wouldn't have gone longer than 47/48 yards. Then the missed kick went halfway up the upright, he tried way harder. (And the ball getting tipped wouldn't send it further)

Speaking of kickers, O'Donnell sure shanked that 4th quarter punt giving the Eagles an extra 10-20 yards of field possession on the winning drive. Although his coffin corner punt in the 1st after the offsides was amazing.

There's definitely reasons to be optimistic with him, but I would like to see him consistently put together 4 good quarters (other than the Tampa game). For as good as he played in the second half yesterday, they still only scored one touchdown, because the offense was asleep in the 1st half.

Yeah, while a defense only giving up 16 points should be enough, I do agree with you. It was a 4th down, just make one more stop with 61,000 people screaming on your side, just get it done. I think the Eagles O-Line did a good job on the Bears pass rush overall, it was quieter than usual.
