QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 30, 2015 -> 09:57 PM) Winning the hitting battle never wins the cup. And either does Kesler That was a stupid comment from day one, but then again look at the source. Hawks get out hit every playoff series and look where that has gotten them. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 30, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) That was an easy game 7. I think the east is weak so I believe we are playing at a higher level right now. The East was weak, but Tampa is good. I'm more concerned about them than I ever was Anaheim. -
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ May 30, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) Heck yeah. Hayden Fry is immortal in Iowa because he had some great football teams. Heck, Ben Jacobson is Northern Iowa has probably entered Saint-hood for sticking with the Panthers this long and having a decent to good team every few years. I guess with Hoiberg I feel, if he just wants a coaching job in the NBA, they'll always been available year in and year out, but if he truly wants to coach the Bulls, this may be his only chance, at least for a while. Kirk Ferentz is immortal because he finishes over .500 nearly every year.

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 30, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) 25 year old kid who grew up on my street was shot and killed in a mugging gone wrong in Lakeview after drinking at Wrigleyville bars. I will not go to those bars. If you are young and drunk in those areas (Wrigleyville, Lakeview, Boystown) around close you are nothing more than a target. I am at work with one of the kid's best friends and he doesn't even know yet. I don't have the heart to tell him. http://www.cwbchicago.com/2015/05/neighbor...ot-dead-on.html Sorry to hear that rabbit. I always hear about the robberies/muggings that go on around there, makes me feel lucky I never got caught up when I used to stumble around those hoods in the wee hours years ago.

Perfect weather for the rare Saturday night game at Wrigley

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 30, 2015 -> 01:26 PM) If you DH Garcia, then Shuck has to play vs a LHP. They aren't going to put Bonifacio in RF. Why not? He can't be worse than Garcia. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 30, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) He is running regardless to the bases. He could aggravate it running down the steps to the dugout, I would prefer Robin not to treat everything like people should be covered in bubble wrap. If Avi is cleared to play, let him play. Does there have to be an open b**** session about every move robin makes in every game thread? Possibly running the bases a few times is way different than the stop and go of 9 innings covering the outfield . There is already a history of playing a guy too much and aggravating an injury. Not to mention, Avi is in no way a plus defender, so it's not like you need his glove out there. -
Serena loses first set to #27 Azarenka. Tough 3rd round draw for a 1 seed

GIVE HIM A DAY OFF ROBIN!!!!

Great throw by Soto, still haven't seen a good enough view to overturn it -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2015 -> 10:11 PM) I don't mind it with him. Look at his recovery last year. I posted that I heard he was coming back and he was right there. Guy is an animal. Transformed his body in the offseason too. We need dedication like that. Dedication is overrated if a player's performance is seriously hampered by the injury, see Paul Konerko in 2012. That just hurts the team -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) Avi is the type of guy that will fight you if you mention the DL. I still think he needs more time off from what I hear. The kid is so hungry. And this organization has proven they listen more to the player than to the doctor, at least with position players -

Lightning win the East. Gary Bettman is rooting hard for the Hawks tomorrow night, the league couldn't be happy with a Tampa Anaheim final -
QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ May 29, 2015 -> 02:19 PM) I did Wimbledon last year for the first four days--the great thing about that is the grounds passes are only £20 (though I think they're £25 starting this year)? I didn't get any grounds passes...I got Centre Court on the first day, then Court Two for the Tuesday-Thursday. I think I wound up paying around £180 altogether...that's about $275 in the current exchange rate but was probably closer to $300 last June. Of course, I also had to queue from like 4-5am on those last three days...I got lucky with the Centre Court by using the Ticketmaster "day-before" limited seats in the upper level. I haven't done the USO yet, but I did Cincy in 2013. Tickets are relatively reasonable (especially compared to the USO) and a lot of people have said it's just a better experience overall. One of these years I am gonna get to Indian Wells. My wife grew up nearby and her family still lives there, so we are in the area twice a year, but have never been able to time it with the tourney.

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ May 29, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) I'd imagine she just likes playing tennis. Same reason guys like Hewitt have hung around for so long. Yeah, I know, it's just that simple, just like plenty of 40+ year old MLB players that try to stick around. With her it just seems different, because she was right at the top of the game for a while and now just can't reach that same level of success. (To be fair, as I just looked it up, her current form is better than I have been giving her credit for)

QUOTE (Brian @ May 28, 2015 -> 06:44 AM) Wozniacki gone in 2nd round after Venus "upset" by Sloan Stephens in round 1. I'm always surprised by how much Venus keeps playing. I'm sure she has all the money and accolades she needs, she doesn't win tourneys anymore, why not just hang em up?

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:22 AM) I have a feeling that this will be Rodon's breakthrough game tonight. I'm thinking 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 K. Interesting matchup vs. the most three outcome team in the league -
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 29, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) I get that Caroll Noesi is both funny and seemingly a great human being, but some people here have the most inflated view of him. When this team gets real depth next year Scott Caroll Hector Noesi will never be considered as a bullpen option. His future isn't as a long man, his future is most likely bouncing around AAA teams until he calls it quits. Of course I could see a scenario where the Sox release him and no one picks him up and he just stays in Charlotte until he quits.
-
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 28, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) They couldn't add a player to the roster for game 2? Webb was their added 26th player, Beck was called up to the active 25-man roster
-
Bummer, I would rather see Carroll on the roster than Noesi

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 28, 2015 -> 02:51 PM) He's hit the ball pretty hard this year. He is showing a lot more value than most thought. And it's magnified by the lack of value from all the other position players.
-
QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 28, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) I really like what Shuck brings to the table. A good, solid, scrappy player. He should be giving Eaton more days off
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Broncos Pro Bowl LT Ryan Clady tore his left ACL during practice Wednesday and is likely to miss the 2015 season, a league source told ESPN. Didn't he miss last season with an injury too?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 28, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) The last 5 innings he has pitched, he has not allowed a hit. That's nice, then he'll have positive memories of his final start in a White Sox uniform.
