  1. Teuvo and Vermette out. Versteeg and Nordstrom in.
  2. If wages were dependent on how hard one had to work , there would be zero incentive to even attend college.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 21, 2015 -> 02:08 PM) All in favor of eternal banishment, say "I" Ban shysocks? Seconded.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2015 -> 01:04 PM) Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 4m4 minutes ago Sources say Mike Babcock has been hired by the Maple Leafs. Mammoth 8 yr contract believed to be around $50 million. That's like double Q's salary and he was the highest paid coach in the league. The Maple Leafs are like the recent Yankees money-wise, minus all the winning of course.
  5. QUOTE (farmteam @ May 20, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) What I didn't quite understand was that it seemed like cops knew this was gonna happen. A lot of cops were already there before the actual violence started. So on one hand, why the hell didn't Twin Peaks do anything (I saw one of the sergeants on site absolutely blasted both the franchise and corporate for not working with police), and on the other, weren't the innocent patrons a little concerned when they saw that many cops? From what I remember reading, it was a "meeting" between multiple gangs to discuss the recent turf wars that had been going on. They were attempting to settle their differences via words and it didn't quite work out that way.
  6. It's a little less significant since DET moved to the East, but Babcock is leaving the Wings. Apparently Buffalo & San Jose are out, so Toronto seems to be the most likely destination. (Unless the Hawks fire Q today )
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ May 20, 2015 -> 11:36 AM) I think I'm missing something here, why would that be bad? It would just be silly for teams to take a knee instead of even attempting it. That's why I think they should just get rid of the kick, make a TD 7 unless you want to go for 2.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 20, 2015 -> 07:23 AM) Small, but I'm glad the defense can finally be rewarded by taking a 2 point attempt back for a TD like they do in college. Can the defense return blocked extra points too? That doesn't seem like the best idea. If it ever happens in a big moment, teams will possibly just start taking a knee instead of kicking late in a one point game.
  9. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 20, 2015 -> 02:01 AM) What a game. I'm on the west coast but I feel so bad for the many Blackhawk fans in Chicago who probably couldn't stay up to watch it in it's entirety. Of course the two triple overtime games have been late 8:00 and 8:30 local time starts too. I took a "nap" at the start of the second overtime but was awake for the rest of the game. That 5:30 alarm came quick this morning!
  10. That made me extra happy because they spent the whole game talking up the Ducks 4th line. Meanwhile, Kruger & crew do that s*** every single game. Hawks win!
  11. Hawks have been involved in the last four triple overtime games in the NHL.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2015 -> 11:26 PM) Man we've run into a hot goalie. When predicting this series, I never took into account Andersen stealing any games
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2015 -> 10:40 PM) Vermette has been a solid grinder. Sure, but I had much higher expectations than that. I notice Desjardins more than I do him
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 24m24 minutes ago #Astros have scouted Jeff Samardzija, who may become available at the deadline: http://sbnation.com/e/8390668?utm_campaign..._source=twitter … What were the odds you would read that sentence back in March?
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 19, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) Kane has been the invisible man so far in series. No goal on 5-3 hurts a bad power play It's getting close to that time of the playoffs when Q pairs him with #19. You know what would be nice? Anything from the two trade deadline pickups, so disappointing.
  16. Quite the dominant 2nd period for Anaheim there. I'm still always so impressed by the skill it takes for those redirects like the goal Perry scored. Time for the Hawks' 1st line to answer back.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) Ducks just scored on accident. Of course. That's how you win 90% of your one-goal games or whatever crazy record they had. Kimmo = old
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 19, 2015 -> 09:51 AM) Those work great for kids who are, say, age 6 or older. For littler kids in bulky car seats, captain's chairs (in my experience) just make things worse. Great, now you tell me!! In theory it seems like it will work better, either way it will definitely be better than the sedan I had. Lost count how many times heads bumped against the ceiling or door frame.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 18, 2015 -> 10:09 PM) Finally, how can the White Sox, after winning five in a row on the road, and having Kluber AND Sale on the mound, only draw 17,712 fans? What was wrong with the weather? Blackhawks again? Um, because it's the White Sox, what did you expect?
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 18, 2015 -> 09:34 AM) My parents have one and it's so comfortable when my wife, son and I go with them to dinner or on a small roadtrip. Easily the best 3rd row option out there that's not a mini-van. Tons of room, nice ride, decent gas mileage. I'm jealous! Our one major necessity was a car that had captain chairs. It's just so nice to have that much more room and the kids can actually walk around a bit to their seats. Basically a SUV mini-van.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 19, 2015 -> 08:36 AM) Wellington Castillo traded to Seattle back to the reporting of Bryants GPA and interest in cars Who wouldn't prefer David Ross?
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2015 -> 06:51 AM) Kris Bryant...he was heavily recruited by LSU, Arizona State, UC Irvine, Stanford, Clemson, Auburn, USC and Vanderbilt...chose to attend USD because of the great baseball program, the beach and the wonderful weather in San Diego...notes that he graduated high school with a 4.78 GPA, and that he is really into cars, and likes to play golf. http://www.usdtoreros.com/sports/m-basebl/...ant_kris00.html Wow, he's an everyday guy, just like you and me! How can you not like him???
  23. Johns broke his arm in Rockford's last game. Had he still been healthy, it sounds like he may have been a real option for Q.
