Alexei 2nd, Abreu running 3rd in AS balloting

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ May 27, 2014 -> 01:17 PM) Jeter starting ugh what a joke but he "deserves" it right lol Yet hosting game 7 of the WS is on the line. Way to go Bud! -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2014 -> 12:37 PM) The thing is if a reliever comes in with the bases loaded, no one out, and a one run lead, gives up a sac fly, and then gets out of the inning with a DP, he still gets the blown save. Or if a closer starts the 9th with a 3 run lead, gives up two runs and leaves with the bases loaded, he gets credit for a hold, not a blown save.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2014 -> 11:40 AM) They were downright bad against the Wild. They needed a hot goaltender to win that series

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2014 -> 10:54 AM) Adding Gaborik was a genius move compared to what the Hawks did at the deadline. At the time, I thought it wasn't the best move given Gaborik has always been a "quiet" goal scorer, never seemed to get them when they mattered. Wow has he proven me wrong.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 27, 2014 -> 10:47 AM) How many hockey games have our guys played in the last 16 months or so? Seems like an awful lot, especially considering the Olympics. In 2011-12 the Kings played 14 more games. In 2012-13 the Hawks played 5 more games. In 2013-14 the Kings have played 2 more games. LA also had 6 Olympians, while the Hawks had 10. Chicago may be wearing down, but that's not an excuse against LA.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 26, 2014 -> 10:39 PM) Gotta love Sutter having faith in his YOUNG PLAYERS in series, especially at the end of games. Q could learn something from him there. Was not afraid to play Toffoli on the PK or have Pearson protecting a lead late. Handzus only played 4:28 last night, 2:52 at even strength. It takes desperation time for Q to bench his favorites and mix it up, it may be too little too late. With the penalty kill sucking it up anyway, what's the point of having Handzus dressing if he plays so little? Give a youngster like Morin a shot to provide a spark or something.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX MEMORIAL DAY WINNER!!!

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2014 -> 10:37 PM) If you listen to any radio broadcast, Farmer ALWAYS goes above-and-beyond to thank servicemen and women, maybe TOO much, if that's possible. He was telling the story about going to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington and witnessing the changing of the guard, etc. Not to mention God, Bless America, National Anthem performed by member of the armed forces, etc. The marketing angle was for it to be a "family outing/picnic/BBQ," obviously. My father was in the military and I would never begin to take offense at that. I completely agree. I am just saying that nowadays if you are in charge of a social media account for a pro sports franchise, you need to be aware that people could be offended. -
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 26, 2014 -> 09:56 PM) Corey Crawford must have banged Brent Seabrook's wife. Either he is hiding a major injury or what you said. Almost just gifted another goal

Bickell goal, 4-2 LA. Just got interesting

I don't really care but a MLB marketing department should know better than that. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2014 -> 09:58 PM) Jordan's Bulls made six straight trips to the finals throwing out his BS year back from baseball. If it wasn't for Hue Hollins the Jordan less Bulls could have made it in 94.

Yordano Ventura left his start tonight with "lateral elbow discomfort", MRI scheduled for tomorrow. A serious injury to him would be a huge blow to the Royals.

Shaw is the king of stupid penalties

What the heck happened to De Aza? I was sure we had a solid cheap leadoff hitter for a couple years. Now he's awful at everything

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2014 -> 09:57 AM) Nice dream. It misses a lot of reality, such as how bad Buehrle was until this year, and we'd be losing $50 million-ish dollars this year, which is never going to happen. If Buehrle, Peavy, and Rios were still on the Sox, Abreu would be on a different team.

QUOTE (SCCWS @ May 26, 2014 -> 10:03 AM) Closers are relievers but not every reliever is a closer. Baseball has this thing vcalled the set-up man. Think of matt Thornton. Reliever his whole career. But he has had more blown saves in his career than saves. He was a verg good reliever for us. But he didn't have the mental make-up to close. You bring up Hermananson. Another great example. Starter his whole career becomes a reliever at 31 and closes in 05 at age 32. Then his body gave out and he retired in 06. Again, not every one can be a closer. For the umpteenth time, you can't compare blown saves to saves for middle relievers. Most of those blown saves came before the ninth inning when he had zero chance of earning a save.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ May 26, 2014 -> 08:53 PM) Ryu perfect for the Dodgers through 7. Dodgers winning 1-0 over Reds. No team has ever thrown back to back no hitters.
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 26, 2014 -> 08:52 PM) Since period 3 game 2 it has been all downhill. LA has scored 13 of the last 16 goals
-
Special teams just killing the Hawks now. Hossa did get pushed but he was already right in Quick's grill. f***, 2-0
-
Chris Kuc reporting that Regin is replacing Bollig tonight. Finally! Also, top two lines appear to be Bickell - Toews - Kane and Sharp - Kruger - Hossa

QUOTE (flavum @ May 25, 2014 -> 03:44 PM) Yunel Escobar stole 3rd. You could read AJ's lips-- "Up 5 in the 7th?" Escobar challeged the Boston dugout, Gomes came in from LF, and it was your run of the mill baseball "fight". Escobar was a b**** about it. In 2008 the Rays were up 7-0 in the 7th in the playoffs and Boston came back and won. Another problem with modern baseball, all the "unwritten" rules, that cause players to act like toddlers. -
39,142 today, biggest crowd of the year. Now Brooks Boyer just needs to figure out a way to have Tanaka and Jeter play in the other 80 home games

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 25, 2014 -> 01:45 PM) NYY 2-0..............Sox not showing much with big crowds last 2 days . Most of the crowd won't return when the Yankees leave town anyway
