  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 06:01 AM) It's not and it doesn't need to be changed. Still bitter about Miami changing their name?
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 12:03 PM) Kings are probably going to win their second cup in three years. They are more of the "dynasty" praise at this point. Sure, if you only count the last 3 years. Adding the Hawks 09 WCF run and the 2010 Cup paints a slightly different picture since the Kings won zero playoff series from 2009 to 2011.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 04:45 PM) No Dunn? He owns Kershaw, 8 for 13, 4 homers, 2 doubles, 2.335 OPS. Oh yeah, forgot about the stupid NL rules
  4. No Dunn? He owns Kershaw, 8 for 13, 4 homers, 2 doubles, 2.335 OPS.
  5. So who are the leading candidates to have been playing through major injuries? I'm hoping Seabrook had something going on, so there is some excuse for how awful he played.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 08:25 AM) I didn't realize exactly how much of the team is signed up for next year already. The biggest UFA they have is either Brookbank or Regin (unless you want to count Hanzus). The RFAs are Morin, Raanta, and Ben Smith. The #1 offseason concern for the front office is signing Kane & Toews to long-term deals. And taking a look at capgeek.com, it pains me to see Brandon Bollig signed through 2017 at $1.25 million. Ugh.
  7. Now that the Hawks are out, it's finally time to concentrate on baseball. Nothing like a 9:00 start to get it going. I hear this Clayton guy is a bum, hit em hard Jose.
  8. I'm gonna be in that part of Idaho in two and a half weeks, it's beautiful up there. I don't have much to add to the actual topic, but it is weird how they suddenly negotiated his release five years later.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 06:54 AM) Jose? Fine, I'll settle for him. Bobby's already on the Mets anyway
  10. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 06:57 AM) He's provided plus value every year of the contract so far. Using fangraphs numbers, he was paid $6 million in 2012 and was worth $8.6 million. In 2013 he was paid $11 million and was worth $12.7 million. So far this year he has been paid approximately $6 million and has been worth $9.7 million. While I still think it was a drastic overpay by the Marlins, he has lived up to the contract. His numbers since leaving the Sox have actually been better across the board than they were with the Sox. 2012 & 2013 were never the problems with the contract. It was 2014 & 2015 when he is making $18 and $19 million per year. It takes a hell of a year to be worth that much money and he is somehow earning every penny so far.
  11. It's hard to believe that Buehrle is actually earning that awful contract so far this year.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 10:21 PM) Some guy named Abreu. Nice. Bobby Abreu can f***ing hit
  13. Game 7 happens, winning goal off Leddy armpit Since the season started, defense has been the problem. They have been scoring goals, but giving up a lot and that's what happened in this series. They lost a great series to a great team in their 4th conference final in six years. Disappointed to not win the Cup, but quite the run and this team is still very young.
  14. It has to be Kane right?
  15. This f***ing series man.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 08:50 PM) Just need a Hossa goal and it's back to the Stanley Cup finals. Sharpie finally got some luck, Hossa is due too. His career shooting % is 12.8, he is under 3 % for the playoffs now. Get it done Hoss.
  17. I thought this would be a thread about the Sox doing tons of sit-ups and crunches and all having six-packs.
  18. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 08:04 PM) No, the answer is 26. Post of the day!
  19. Back on the power play. This f***ing series is gonna give me a heart attack
  20. Doughty to the box on a 5 on 3. Must score here
  21. Kruger hasn't gotten many minutes, but it seems like he is constantly getting crushed
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 08:19 PM) What a shift for the 2nd line! They have just been dominant the last few games
  23. That first period showed you why predictions are pointless for hockey game 7s. Anything can and will happen
  24. Sharpie finally gets some luck!
  25. f***. Mr. Game 7 strikes again.
