  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) i want to anonymously sit next to Krush at a game in a camouflage blackhawk sweater And you are only allowed to leave your seat when the puck is in play.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 09:46 AM) So is tonight the night for the streak to end? I was convinced it would end Monday night, but they pulled it out. Hockey can be such a funny sport, they will probably beat STL tonight, then suddenly blow the streak vs. the Jackets tomorrow night.
  3. QUOTE (southside_hitman @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 07:57 AM) He has had four years to show that he can hit, and he hasn't. What is the basis for thinking that this year will be any different? Perhaps a new Manto leg kick or some other secret weapon we don't know about? You don't have to look through the history of baseball to see trends. AJ hit .300 or above 4 times in his first 6 years. You don't see too many players that even remain in the major leagues after hitting .205 after four years. Four years? He has 273 career MLB at-bats, that's barely a half season's worth.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 06:22 PM) Hearing him talk about the back pain he still has, I can't see it. Yeah, flying across the country 10 times a month probably isn't recommended by his chiropractor.
  5. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 10:23 PM) Well I did go to Siu so there is that, I always felt safe going 75 maybe slow down if I see a cop but that would be after he would have been able to clock me speeding. The only time I'd go slower is when school first started/ended and start/end of Christmas break because cops hate students. When I used to drive down to school in Champaign, I would always try to keep it in the 70-72 range, never got stopped.
  6. Penn State has one conference win vs. #4 Michigan. TCU has one conference win vs. #6 Kansas. South Florida has one conference win vs. #7 Georgetown.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 01:25 PM) The way it is being reported you would think this guy got caught with 10 kilos of china white, not a little weed. I'd be willing to bet more than a few of Webb's teammates use marijuana on a recreational basis.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) http://deadspin.com/5986805/ Hilarious. Awesome. Give that kid a scholarship!
  9. The last QB the Chiefs drafted to win a game for KC was Todd Blackledge. In 1987.
  10. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 07:20 PM) Makes me think we had been lucky with Dollar Bill Wirt$. Were Marlins home games televised?
  11. QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) in the early 90s the sox and cubs were each drawing 3500 a game. That uptick for the Sox just happened when the new park opened, they suddenly went from 25k to 36k. Then the strike happened. And welcome to Soxtalk!
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 03:59 PM) Worth noting is that he started getting hurt a lot more after 2005...culminating in the Tommy John surgery in 2009. That's true, but nothing he showed in 2004 made you think he could be unhittable the next year.
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 05:16 PM) If only the replay era had arrived a bit earlier... No doubt. I just watched those two fumbles on YouTube, and they would have been reversed immediately.
  14. I think everyone left work early, cause my commute home was a piece of cake.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) Holy s***, the Big 12 just admitted the refs f***ed it up. The #Big12 acknowledges that officiating errors were made at the end of regulation during last night’s Kansas at Iowa State game. (1 of 2) The plays have been reviewed and appropriate measures will be taken by the Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Officials .... .... to adjust the number of future assignments for the two officials involved in conjunction with Conference policies. The Big 10 did the same thing after the 2000 Illinois-Michigan football game. Thanks for admitting the refs cost our school a game, it changes nothing assholes.
  16. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) Apparently not going to this year either. I wonder what happened in 2005. Pure luck? A little extra "oomph" on his pitches? He barely has another league average season.
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) I'm fine with it. If the 5th seed in one division better than the 4th seed in the other division, I guess it's reasonable to take their spot. AHL used to do this when their was an imbalance in # of teams. It's definitely fair to have that 5th team take a spot, but why not just keep it set as conference playoffs then. Under the new format, the conf. finals could pit the Pacific champion Chicago Blackhawks vs. the Midwest champion Vancouver Cancuks. That's stupid.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) Haven't heard that name in a long time. Nor should you have. Hasn't pitched in the majors in nearly 4 years.
  19. Realignment Am I getting this right? With the wild-card teams, couldn't a MidWest team technically win the Pacific divisional playoffs? Doesn't that ruin the point of having divisional playoff rounds?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) And more than anything, his one year with the Sox is the outlier. That's what sucks about that second Gio trade. If Swisher had been producing at his normal level, that trade would look so different. Look at his yearly OPS since 2006: .864, .836, .743, .869, .870, .822, .837
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) I want a BHawks sweater, despite the fact I can't afford it and it is difficult for me to fathom a situation where I would wear it minus going to a hockey game. Are you saying there is something wrong with wearing a Blackhawks sweater when there is no game going on?
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 08:11 AM) Buy 'em before sensitive people make us the Chicago Fightin' Chicagoans! They already took away my college logo. I won't let them touch the Indian Head!
  23. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 08:01 AM) IMO (which is based on second hand medical info), he is still in the window of "I'm taking my time because I don't want to come back out of playing shape and develop new injuries because I pushed it." However, I don't think that window extends another month into the season. Which is kind of how he tore the ACL in the first place, coming back too quickly from his rash of other injuries.
