Gonzalez has looked good against everyone except Donaldson, Bautista, and Encarnacion.

At least Gonzalez can get his velocity up to around 92.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 06:29 PM) Jays lineup is murders row They have 3 guys capable of putting up .400+ wOBAs and one who's going to put up at least .350 with good defense at SS. Most teams would be glad just to have one...

Gonzalez made some bad pitches to EE and Donaldson. Can't hang pitches over the plate against these guys.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) Yup. That entire team other than Altuve and Correa is fools gold. Springer's pretty good. They look like a .500 team if their pitching doesn't get back on track.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) I would definitely rather have Quintana personally Yup. If Stroman's a 1, then Q's easily a 1.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) My news service subscription just said torn acl. No idea why they're reporting on that, but there you go. Other reports say torn MCL.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) I demand you change your avatar for this series at the very least. All in favor? I was just thinking about that. But I'm afraid to change it with all the good luck so far this year. Edit: Done

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:34 PM) They'll obviously be better than they have been, but Keuchel's velocity loss is pretty concerning and Gomez just looks completely done. If Keuchel doesn't pitch like a #1 and Gomez continues to be horrible, the Astros are just a .500ish team. Truth of the matter is that the Astros haven't been all that great since their hot start last year.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) His ERA is pretty high for a #1-2 and he doesn't strike that many guys out. However, he still is very good. I feel like he's being seen as an ace by a lot of people when he's probably a #2 at this point.

2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 01:00 PM) http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2016/4/25...warriors-game-4 Not new news, but this would make you believe he's out at least a minimum of 15 days, potentially longer, depending on the extent of the sprain. So what you're saying is, Golden State should go to 7 games on every series until the conference finals?

Does anyone feel that Stroman might be a bit overrated?

Streaming games
I would just pay for MLB.tv if you don't have any blackout issues. Free streams are too inconsistent.

Miguel Gonzalez getting called up, Danks skipped
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) Can Gonzalez be optioned back to Charlotte without being exposed to waivers? Nope I think he's out of options. That's why he got DFA'd.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
Why are the Reds allowing Simon to pitch against the Cubs? He's got a 38 ERA against them.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 04:21 PM) I want to believe, they are starting to show me something. Let's see how they do off the road trip. Four extra base hits today was a very good sign, if you can't get a ton of hits at least make the ones you do get count for something. Lock down pitching today all across the board. Very, very nicely done. Mark This sweep was very unexpected. But yeah, the real test is this upcoming road trip. Toronto's the best offense in the AL and Baltimore is good as well. Let's see how the pitching holds up.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) Remember those people mocking the Latos bonuses in his contract? Not looking too bad now. He's the Cy Young through 4 stars and while that is unrealistic, he could be an all star. His numbers will come back down to earth eventually. His xFIP is near 5 right now. The BABIP and HR% on fly balls will normalize. I think we saw some of that today. He's not gonna have his A+ stuff every start, but as long as he keeps us in the game, that's more than good enough.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
13-6 and 5-2 on the week. Great rebound after struggling vs. the Angels. To do it against a team that came in red hot is even better.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 04:04 PM) Held the Rangers to 4 runs in 29 innings. Unbelievable. The real test comes in this next series against Toronto. If we can keep that offense down, then we're 100% for real.

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) Maybe the most underrated. I didn't even know he was closing in on 3000 hits. His few years in Seattle kind of skewed his offensive numbers a bit. He's been a beast for the Rangers.
