We may actually be the worst team in baseball. Even worse than the A's.

Not getting Harper or Machado led them to spend money on Grandal. It was a worthwhile contract for 2 years, but absolute crap after.
Not getting Wheeler led to them spending money on Keuchel, who was worth it for 1 60 game season.
I'd say these were the biggest mishaps in free agency that led to the rebuild failing.
The TLR hire obviously didn't help, but I'm not sure any manager available could have fixed this team's underlying issues with effort, injuries, and just a general lack of chemistry.

He was pretty much in a contract year anyway. They voided the last 3 years where Diggs had zero guaranteed money, so he was going to hold out/request a trade or be cut with a zero cap hit. Houston is still paying Diggs a $1M less than the Bears are paying Allen this year. Diggs is clearly better than Allen this year, but I don't know how to weigh the 50 pick difference in draft capital and it being a 2024 vs a 2025 pick.
I actually don't think Diggs was any better than Allen last year. Diggs was mid to terrible the last 10 games of the year while Allen was on pace for like 1600 receiving yards had he not gotten hurt at the end of the year.
Allen is also a much better guy for a young QB to have. He also won't complain if he doesn't get enough targets like Diggs.
Him being 2 years younger is a plus for Diggs though. Although I think with Allen's game so reliant on route running and less on his speed and athleticism, he should age well if he stays healthy.

Looks like the Texans voided the last few years of Diggs’ deal and paid him some additional salary this year to try and give him an incentive to play for a new contract.
Has Diggs really had an issue with motivation? I feel like he's a diva because he always wants the ball. If you put him in a contract year, he's just gonna want the ball more. Wouldn't that possibly create more issues for him?

I love Deivi Garcia’s windup, delivery, and stuff. I think and hope he will be successful as a reliever.
He reminds me of Johnny Cueto

He’s still going to strike out way too much. 30 to 33%.
If you can get a good defensive catcher that runs into one once in a while while getting on base close .300, that has value. I'm still not sure he'll get near a .300 OBP, but we'll see.

Korey Lee actually flashing some pop.

Fletcher is one out away from seeing his OPS drop below .200
Fletcher lifts the ball like he's got 70 or 80 grade power. Meanwhile there's guys on this team with that kind of power that won't lift the ball.

Wow they actually overturned it

I don’t see anything that overturns this
Yeah if it was out on the field they wouldn't overturn it either.

I'm not sure he got the tag down while he came off the bag

He looks out.

The throw actually beat him.

Sheets is slow AF what the hell
That could have been Shewmake on third and I still wouldn't send him.

That was so shallow that the 2nd baseman almost caught it lol

The confidence in the lineup is so low that the third base coach thought running into a sure out was better than trying to get a 2 out hit with RISP.

What kind of dumbass send was that? That's shallow and Renfroe has a good arm.

The 2024 Chicago White Sox offense: blink and you'll miss it.

This offense is an embarrassment to the MLB. Sox starters have to pitch shutouts to win a fucking game. Stone still pretending like it will improve.
To be fair, it really can't get that much worse.

I might have to turn this shitshow off and watch the last episode of Tokyo Vice.
Thanks for reminding me. I'm gonna go watch that now.

I’m not writing him off yet, but I have yet to see him display anything that makes you say “this dude can be our everyday RF” outside of the arm.
It just feels like he doesn't have any oomph in his swing.

Fletcher has basically looked like the left handed version of his brother.

Great effort trying to get to that one. I knew Witt was gonna go for 2 as soon as I saw Robert slow down trying to field that ball.

With Robert and Eloy out, probably not.
